Fake Lawyer?...Your Doctor Might Be Fake As Well And That's Nigeria For You!

He looks like someone who sweated his way through the University and Law school right? *yimu.

Whilst people who saw the four walls of a University might still be sitting at home waiting for a miracle to bring jobs their way,the man pictured above used his own hands and propelled his own destiny to the front seat.

what did he do?

Daniel Ikhidenor Ikhuoria, 30 years old,has never been to the University and instead of taking a gun to steal,he decided to become a lawyer to represent people in court!...what a way to earn a living!

Shocking? No,it isnt...you only find such extreme cases of impersonation and identity theft in Nigeria and because there is no proper checks and balances these fakes go around causing more harm than good...who is to blame?

He was even helped out by someone in the system.

I dont know how he pulled it off but this man must have read enough law books to be able to present his cases....he wasn't even court on the job,he was nabbed by a police orderly attached to the Appeal Court, DCR Office who suspected he might not be a real Lawyer...dont ask me how this Police man knew.

Read Mr Fake Lawyers story as reported by PM NEWS

''In his alleged confessional statement to the police, the suspect allegedly said: “I have been practicing as a lawyer since 2011 and I have represented clients at the magistrate, high court and Federal high courts without any problem.

“But I have never attended law school or any institution to read law in my life but I was called to the bar through a source at a high court in 2011. I bought the gown and wig in the open market and wore it and started practicing as a lawyer. I did not know that it is an offence to practice as a lawyer without authority. I promise to change if I am set free.”
After investigation by Corporal Victor Afu and his team, the suspect was charged before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos on a three-count charge of impersonation and unlawful possession of law wig and gown.

The offence the accused committed, according to Inspector Chidi Okoye, are punishable under section 378(1), 78(b) and 327 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the crime and Chief Magistrate Miss A. O. Awogboro admitted him on bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum who must be blood relation and reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
She adjourned the matter till 3 March, 2014 for mention. The suspect was moved to Ikoyi Prison pending when he will fulfill the bail conditions.

  8. Please, I have a question, don't you have to take a board exam to practice law in Naija? Professionals here in the states have to take a board exam, and them they hear "wen" before some of them dey pass. Sleepless nights and coffee.

  10. Stella fake doctors plenty, na today.A friend of mine, her younger brother failed out of med school in uniport, but this guy is working in a private clinic, prescribing drugs for people. I have also met a fake nurse too. When i was in secondary school, there was this lady that used to make my hair. To be best knowledge, she no go school.Fast forward, several years after, i went to see a friend in a private clinic, i saw the lady in a nurse uniform.I called her and she acted like she did not know me.She wanted to check someones body temperature with the thermometer.Come see drama, this woman could not use the thermometer and other nurses sat down there laughing. I asked the nurses if they were sure this woman was a nurse, one answered, i no sabi for am oh. I just kindly told the person she was with, to ask for another nurse, cause i don't think the lady is a nurse.

The Irony! buahahahahaha,TF were u representing clients with in Court when you don't even know the law, this Oga must be either a good Liar or a genius! Of all professions to impersonate, you chose Law!(All the Section this, sub section that , he had to quote and cram) Na wa o, to think it took them 3yrs to catch him, our system is so disorganised., the source that helped him and called him to bar should be Jailed.
    And there s no way he's 30, if he's 30 am 12.
