Fashola Renames Hall After Slain Yobe Students

Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has deflected the naming of a hall after him, in favour of the 43 students of Federal Government College Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area, Yobe State who were massacred early on Tuesday by adherents of the Boko Haram Islamist sect.

Originally named after the governor by the Lagos Zonal Council of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the hall, located in Fadeyi, will now be named “Peace Hall” in honour of the slain pupils.

he said
“I appreciate NUPENG’s gesture but I will rename this edifice ‘Peace Hall’, in memory of the lives of the children that were brutally slain in Yobe by insurgents”,

*sigh*

Buh am just tired of we all being emotional, sympathetic, sober n all over things we got d power to put an end to. Mr President,d sponsors should be ur main target_get 'em n let 'em be dealt wif no matter who they are n this menace will stop.

  18. Even if Lagos state is renamed and each street bears the students names,it won't change anything...neither will it ease the pains of their loved ones.
And it won't stop the next killings.

May I and my Family never be a part of a sad/unfortunate/tragic national statistics.
