FIRST BANKS CLOCKS 120 YEARS!

I didn’t know First Bank has been around for 120 years already?I am sure a lot of you didn’t know too.

The bank, which was founded in 1894, is celebrating its 120th anniversary and the launch of a new corporate identity.
The new logo still has the Elephant symbol although it looks more colourful.
I also noticed the head is much bigger than the former one.
Well,What do you expect from a 120-year-old Elephant? #GiantTins. Lol.
Read what the Group CEO of FBN Holdings, Mallam Bello Maccido, said during the unveiling.
Our story is a story of humble beginnings- from a small bank with a paid up capital of £12,000 to one of the most enduring African brands. We have seen the Nigerian public through the turn of two centuries and even a new millennium. Our story is the story of Nigeria and the Nigerian people,” says Maccido, CEO FBN Holdings.
Wow, really touching. I wish them many more centuries.
FBN Holdings is the new parent company FirstBank and other banking, insurance, mortgage, etc businesses.

  5. Happy Birthday First Bank!

A yoruba proverb says "emi ise gun ju emi eniyan lo" (work has a longer life than humans). I heard of one of our company's acct officers in 1st bank who slumped and died on d 27th of Dec last year shortly after work on his way home "all in the name of meeting target", you see, he has been so stressed that even during the holidays, he still kept on working chasing target before the year end! May God rest his soul.

Why did I bring this up? Its because the other colleague mentioned the above proverb along with the age of the bank, and I couldn't help but pray for bank marketers because they all seem to be going through a lot "meeting this sometimes-unreasonable targets".

Please, dear SDK blog readers, do regular check-up and most importantly, commit your life unto Jesus.

    Cheers!
