Dencia Defends Whitenicious On Channel 4 News

Singer Dencia once again is put on the hotseat to defend her skin care range Whitenicious.

Is the message it sells controversial?Phinnah Ikeji of Black Role Models UK thinks it's the wrong message for young girls' self-esteem.

I really don't understand this anymore...if you like whatever colour your skin is please stick to it...Dencia is making breaking news almost every week now...i don't know what to call that.

Her skin does not even look half as white as Pela Okiemute and all the other bleaching experts in Nigeria.

Infact from this video,i think the whitenicious pictures were photo shopped to appear brighter than their future.

Most people are slamming her online but ordering for her products #yimu

  1. Hmmm I watched d interview; it's quite hilarious...how can she compare d fixing of weavon t d whitening of d skin(wich has no reversal). All I can say is dat her musical career is dead. She's using her bleaching product t remain relevant.

    2. As far as concerned, all this invitation they are dishing out to Dencia in a quest to find out the intention behind the production of her whiteniciou creme is just in her favour cos they end up marketing the product free of charge! More interviews on media, more sales period!

    3. Does she have a music career before now ? Stella I beg
      1) why is she sounding or talking like this? She sounds like a toy using battery
      2) she can't compose herself, who is her manager I beg? She is not professional at all, also She also lack wisdom. A woman of wisdom would defend the product in a better way and act more professionally. Who is fighting her. Acting as if she was being interview by toke Makiwa. Does of u using her product u see ur life ur role model can defend her product. If cancer eat ur bodies pls don't send pic to stella for contribution. I had to stop the interview half becAuse of her manner of approach.

    1. Say this on channel 4 last night; the interviewer wanted her to admit she was promoting a negative image of black people. She kept insisting her product was to clear black spots, not bleach entirely. The media is helping her sales, whether they like it or not.

  8. I believe its the role of parents to teach their children what is wrong or right. I don't think that a well taught teenager can be influenced easily. As a parents its our duty to help our kids build their self esteem not media.
Do I think that bleaching is good ? No way. I am comfortable with my skin and always tell my dark skin daughter that black is beautiful .
All this talk about whitenecious is making the product to be more popular. More money for Denicia
Its all about choice, if some people want to bleach to death ..... their choice. I am a dark skin lady anyway .

    1. Tnk u, I'm with u on this. Why do they keep hammering on whitenecious when there are other bleaching, less expensive cream on rampage. There wud always be evil n wrong stuffs so parents shd teach their kids n help them decipher the wrong frm the right. Every cream that has hydroquinone in it is a bleaching cream. E.g fair n white, bio clair, so white et al. So pls free dencia.

  10. Dencia just made a fool of herself with her defensive attitude, I just feel sorry for those using her product she doesn't give a shit about what becomes of their skin in future, she is just all about the money. And as for her claims of media selling her product is all whitewash becos the power of the media can either make you or break you & it's obvious with her defensive ur composed attitude what the media is doing to her! Role model my ass!

  12. Dencia, please listen. You are not answering the question. Please relax. Whitenicious is your product, promote it well. Women lighten their skin - it's no-one's fault really

  13. There is nothing spectacular about her face, she has a horrible nose. Bad bad bad defence, work on ur PR skills cos it's all about image. U didn't sound convincing enough for me to believe what ur saying n selling. She doesn't exude confidence but complexity. She didn't dress like a smart business woman but like a ho trying to make quick bucks with no idea what shez talking about. Image is everything Dencia, work on it. Look at Phina, she spoke intellectually and she dressed smartly even though she spoke for a short while. I could go on and on about everything wrong about ur interview and would still not finish.
If it is this rubbish you want to go and display in Oprah, then my advice to you is to sit ur ass down at home cos Oprah will make you feel like a fool. Stop granting interviews bike.
I don't have a problem with what she is saying or selling but she should stop talking like a bimbo who doesn't know what shez saying n I also don't have a problem with people that bleach or tone their skin cos it's their life and they will live it the way they deem it fit.
    I'm out

  14. Have you seen Naija music videos? Most of them use fair ladies. Its not just Dencia. Its d society

  15. They should free this girl abeg, na her hussle. Why haven't they called Beyonce out for bleaching, Ashanti. Lil Kim and Rihanna. Bleaching is not good, but if anyone wants to bleach its their choice. Iman also has bleaching cream, why them never dey attack her up and down. Dencia make your money abeg

  16. I don't mean to be disrespectful or nothing, but I think this Dencia chic is very unintelligent, her thoughts don't even agree. she thinks saying all she is saying about the cream will make the motive for selling it to change... smh.
like Stella would say, she should please take several seats... Baybee.

  17. Dencia is crazy, why is she spazzing out and getting all defensive over her whitenicious? Is this the same attitude she wants to go lay on Lady O? She better calm her tits down. And I don't get the sunglasses, I have a problem with people when I'm talking to them and I can't look them straight in the eyes, says a lot about the kind of person they are.

  18. This girl is just making waves anyhow. Lesson to haters, the more you slander the more popular she becomes.

  19. Honestly guys I believe you should do whatever makes you happy as long as you don't compromise your religious values , if you feel better with bigger boobs , lighter skin and a bigger bum , that is entirely up to you . I'm not a fan of skin bleaching & going under the knife but if it floats your boat then why not go for it ? Nobody has the right to play God by judging you but if I'm in support of dencia's market why not ? Her product is meant for clearing dark spots but certain people have decided to abuse it , just the way people abuse cough syrup , whitenecious is a bit pricy but then again what about foreign companies such as fair&white ? Why are people not attacking them ? Why Dencia ? Is it cause she is African ? Cause she is an entertainer ? Lupita had no rite to piss on her parade , just cause she is not in support of her market , which I'm sure she knows nothing about . I believe in live & let live enough of Dencia and her product

  20. She just comes across as being very ignorant and inarticulate. Did anyone understand what she was saying? They should stop promoting this rubbish.

  21. I think Dencia is right.Just as whites choose to bleach their hairs and women put on lipsticks,,so do black choose to bleach their skin and that doesn't has anything to do with been inferior in complexity.I believe all these white media and some of the African stooges like Pinnah Ikeji are just been jealous of Dencia achievements and they should stop bringing her down...

  22. Tired of the story of this BITCH already!!! You all should do what you want with your skin!

  23. Whats it with the African, American and British accent. Dencia please stick to one accent. Dont show us how fake you are.

  24. Sure denica can't even defend her product so well in this interview, what will she do if oprah winfrey happens to interview her.

    ReplyDelete
  25. call me ignorant, my question is :
how does dark spot remover work? does it fade the spot out by lightening the part? do you rub it on the dark spot only or all over?

by rubbing on the dark spot, dont you risk having some spots lighter than your skin color later?

My best guess is rubbing it all over your body to get an even skin tone, in other words bleaching?

  26. Throughout the interview, she focused on what she said, what she didnt say and what was blown out of proportion by the media.
But everyone knows that sometimes, the things you don't say pass the loudest message.
Her defensive attitude, talking over everybody shows a person that bullies other people into thinking their way.
Yes, she is getting free publicity, but she should stop pretending like she doesn't know the message she is passing across.
She sounds like a man selling guns and saying he's not promoting violent behaviour because one aspect of having a gun is security and protection.

  29. Please what has low self esteem got to do with being promiscuous? This is for the not too bright phina ikeji. African's and being hypocritical all the time. She didn't mention lack of confidence, high increase of bullying and suicide rates, non personal drive to aspire in life and think beyond the now; Mba, it's promiscuity. A bit daft I must say.
