A woman believed to be the mother of three children found dead at a south-west London home has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Officers were called to a property on Thetford Road, New Malden, at about 21:30 BST on Tuesday.
A girl, aged four, and twin boys, aged three, were pronounced dead at the scene.
It is understood all three had a disability and were cared for by their 42-year-old mother Tania Clarence.
The children are believed to have been born with a life-limiting genetic condition.
Their father Gary Clarence, who works as a director at City bank Investec, was not at home at the time of the deaths but is understood to have been informed of the tragedy.
An elder child, thought to be around seven or eight years old, was also living at the house but was in good health.
On Tuesday night, a 42-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries and later She was then arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at a south London police station.
Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and are currently not giving any details on the possible cause of the deaths.
Post-mortem examinations will be arranged in due course, police said.BBC

ReplyDeleteHeard this earlier this week. Unfortunately it's becoming all too common for parents to take the life of their own kids, in the West.
ReplyDeleteEither as an act of vengeance against an enstranged spouse, as a result of mental illness, momentary rage, or, as I suspect in this case, the frustration of caring for 3 disabled children and the misplaced desire to put them out of their misery.
Such a huge tragedy! God rest their poor souls!

Thank God i can't even afford the luxury of traveling out sef. Bc na legit reason to just stay bak in naija. Dose people seem to be Psychos to me.
ReplyDeleteDear Lord! 'not looking for anyone else in connection' means there's absolute conviction. I know caring for a disabled child requires grace,let alone 3... But the insinuation here is just heartless. Running away like my town-lady did is a better option.

Taking care of healthy kids is not easy, let alone disabled ones. No matter the level of depression involved, it's not enough reason to take their lives, why not employ someone to help you out. If at all this woman is guilty.

ReplyDeleteThis is a Clear case of frustration and depression but she could have handled it better. Its a heavy task managing one special child talkless of 3. May the beautiful souls of the kids rest in peace and may The Almighty God have mercy on their mother. Its a sad situation.
