Ebola Crisis In Nigeria Was Caused By Nigeria's Minister of Information Labaran Maku ?

In April, the Nigeria minister of Information, Labaran Maku claimed that Nigeria had stockpiles of vaccines and was ready for the epidemic. Quoting PremiumTimes of April 2nd, 2014 he said....

“Nigeria is ready, because the Ministry has taken every precaution, including getting the vaccines and medicines in case there was any incident in Nigeria”.

Now here is the twist leading to Patrick Sawyer...

The widow of Patrick Sawyer revealed that her husband believed he would be better-off in Nigeria than in Liberia when he contracted the virus, due to the Minister’s publicized statements. The disinformation from the Minister of information is implicated in the pandemic crises that has killed several Nigerians and rendered over 100 in quarantine as the Ebola outbreak rocks the nation.

Here is the whole article form PremiumTimes of April 2, 2014:
“Nigeria is ready, because the Ministry has taken every precaution, including getting the vaccines and medicines in case there was any incident in Nigeria
The Federal government on Wednesday announced that after a week of thorough investigations, it was certain there was no outbreak of Ebola fever in Nigeria.
The Information Minister, Labaran Maku, stated this in Abuja while briefing journalists on the outcome of the weekly meeting of the Executive Council of the Federation, FEC. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo as President Goodluck Jonathan was away in Brussels, Belgium for the Africa, EU summit. Mr. Maku said the FEC devoted time to a detailed report by the Minister of Health on the findings over alleged outbreak of Ebola fever in Nigeria.

He said the Minister of State for Health, Kahaliru Alhassan, had told the Council that following speculations in the media that Ebola fever was in Nigeria, the ministry had in the course of the week undertook checks, with all results showing that there was no Ebola fever in Nigeria. He, however, assured that Nigeria was fully prepared to curtail any outbreak, particularly given reports that a few countries with close proximity to Nigerian on the west coast, like Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, have reported cases of Ebola fever. Dozens of people have died from the fever, caused by a virus, in the affected countries.

“Nigeria is ready, because the Ministry has taken every precaution, including getting the vaccines and medicines in case there was any incident in Nigeria. “So far, there is nothing like Ebola fever in Nigeria, and Council was reassured that every step has been taken to ready our country just in case, infected persons come into the country from our neighbouring countries,” Mr. Maku said.culled

  1. The government as a whole should be blamed, the approach towards to ebola virus was too slow, they should have started putting measures in place to contain the virus even before it got to Nigeria, or trying to make sure it doesn't get to Nigeria

Also talking about Mr wicked and evil man Patrick Sawyer, I am also of the opinion that he came to Nigeria with a mission to infect Nigerians with the Ebola virus and kill as many Nigerians as possible, because if you check the first post about nurse Justina on this blog, who was also one of the nurse that treated Mr wick and evil Sawyer and who was also infected with the EBV and is now late (may her soul rest in peace), she said and I qoute "I never contacted his fluids .i checked his Vitals, helped him with his food. (he was too weak)…..I basically touched where his hands touched and dats d only contact. not directly wt his fluids. @ a stage, he yanked off his infusion and we had blood everywhere on his bed…"
So if he was not on a mission to infect Nigerians, why would he yank of the infusion? If not that he yanked off that infusion, Justina wouldn't have been infected, because according to her she never came in contact with his fluid. And I am also of the opinion that his wife was a party to that evil plan, that's why she has come to his defence

Looting of our treasury is the only visible honesty we see from our leaders. Am sure fund was allocated for the vaccine or other preventative vaccines but one man will pocket the money.

I JUST DONT BELIEVE THE DEAD SHOULD BE BLAMED TOTALLY, THEY ARE MANY OTHER FAACTORS- WE HAD MONTHS TO PREPARE, TO MAKE REGULATIONS ON INFLUX OF PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES, WE HAD A LOT OF OPTIONS, I BELIEVE SAWYER JJUST WANTED A CHANCE TO BETTER TREATMENT, WHO WOULDNT? IT IS EASY BLAME HIM NOW, HE IS DEAD... NO ONE KNOWS IF THE VIRUS ATE INTO HIS BRAIN, HE OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT HIMSELF, I REFUSE TO BELIEVE HE JUST CAME IN WITH SUCH A WICKED INTENTION- WHAT IF JIM IYKE HAD IT AND DIDNT KNOW, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BATTERED VERBALLY LIKE THIS SINCE OUR MINISTER SAID THEY ARE PREPARED FOR IT, WHO WOULDNT WANT TO HOLD ON TO THAT HOPE AND BELIEVE IN THE GOVT OF AFRICA'S GIANT

  36. I made this submission a while ago and I'm glad some people are beginning to see what I saw in the whole issue.
    Below is my view:

Stop Blaming Patrick Sawyer For Ebola Virus
    Disease In Nigeria

The man credited for 'importing' Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)
into Nigeria is dead and yet, even in death, it seems Patrick
Sawyer won't be allowed to rest in peace! I have read and
heard of Nigerians both at home and in diaspora heaping
curses on him for being the harbinger of bad news in form of
EVD into a country that is already saturated with fear of
terror from the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram. A
country where the citizens are so pissed at the political
elites' constant exploitation and insensitivity to their plight.
But in reality, I do not blame Sawyer. I have a different way
of looking at this situation and if there's anyone to be
blamed, it should be the Nigerian Minister of Information,
Labaran Maku. Correct me if I'm wrong but ........ www.womanspec.com/index.php?topic=9.msg10#new

  40. Politicians lie a lot nah!

    ReplyDelete
  41. At the ene of all these,it boils down to taking care 'of the victims now.. Give them whatever to boost their immune.. Virus fight human immune system, and Ebola virus doesn't have a long life span. If ones immune system is good, one can outlive the virus... I just checked the total death toll of Ebola in west Africa and its about a 1000 people.. And much more than these numbers were infected but they didn't all die.. There are still people in sierelone,Liberia and guinea.. They are not all dead and they are not all infected.. We all as people should try to maintain a clean environment and avoid contact with people that are sick or wear protective measures while with them... We should also pray and hope for the best...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Make could have said this because he runs his mouth a lot. What an information minister!

  50. Stella you are becoming an irritant with your stupid stories on Ebola.......we need positive news not all this bullshit you are shiaring......gossip is what u do best but this is not time for meaningless gist, pls focus on positive news.....u are becoming irritating

    ReplyDelete
  51. If Maku made the statement, I don't see why he shouldn't be kicked out but nothing can justify the fact that Patrick came in and hide his ebola status. If he came to receive treatment, why didn't he request for the vaccine immediately instead of insisting he had malaria?
Who would choose to come to Nigeria for treatment instead of America? He is an American!
I am beginning to believe that he was really paid by some people to bring the disease to Nigeria because of this need by some people to defend and justify his coming here.
The more they try to defend him, the more I have the urge to curse him and his generation but he is dead, let God deal with him as He deems fit.
