1. A Nigerian Ebola patient has been discharged from the quarantine unit of the Emergency Operation Centre, EOC, at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Lagos. Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu disclosed this On Saturday. He said the Doctor was release after she started showing signs of improvement.

2. Report says following a clash between the police and okada riders in Lagos on Friday, three persons were allegedly killed at Iyana School Bus Stop, along LASU-Iba Road. Contrary to reports that commercial cyclists in the area attacked a team of policemen from Isashi Division led by the Station Officer (SO) and the Operations Officer, investigations revealed that policemen from the Division stormed the Okada park at Iyana School Bus Stop, seizing commercial bikes, leading to the fracas.

3. Troops of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) on Saturday took over a terrorists’ camp in Buduram, north of Doron Baga, where terrorists were warming up to embark on a reprisal attack after being routed in Doron Baga in a previous encounter last Sunday.

Report says about 17 terrorists died in the operation, while some who escaped into neighbouring islands in the Lake Chad Peninsula were being pursued.

4. Gen. Patrick Aziza (Rtd), President General of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU has died. Aziza died at the age of 67 after a protracted battle with cancer in Abuja about 3:45am on Saturday.

5. Former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu has now joined the Peoples Democratic Party after a long talk over the likelihood of his crossover. Report says his gathered that Ribadu’s siblings registered for him at his Makama Ward in Yola South and the registration card has been sent to him in Abuja to enable him pick up the PDP governorship form for the Adamawa State governorship election.

6. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has threatened to sue the Spokesperson of the Directorate of Security Service, (DSS) Marilyn Ogar, for allegedly attempting to blame the APC for the series of bomb blasts across the country. The party said unless Ogar presents an evidence to back her claims, it will seek redress in court. The party made the threat in a statement issued in Ilorin on Saturday by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

7. No fewer than 100 shops were on Friday at the Fancy Section of the Aleshinloye International Market in Ibadan were razed by fire. Report says the fire was caused by high voltage.

8. The Nigerian Medical Association has threatened to continue with its strike, pending when the federal government lifts the current suspension of about 16,000 resident doctors in the country.
The Lagos State Chairman of the association , Dr. Tope Ojo stated this at a press briefing in Lagos on Saturday.

9. Police has arrested the wife of the late Mr. Aliu Adeoye, who died with his second wife and three children on Friday in Temidire community, in Sabo area of Abeokuta. The prime suspect has been detained in the police headquarters at Eleweran, in Ogun State.

10. The South East leaders and elders had on Saturday endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as their sole candidate in the 2015 general election. Leaders of the zone came out in large number at the Ekwueme Square in Anambra state to assure the president of their support if he decides to run in the 2015 general election.

-I deleted the post about Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh recovering from Ebola because i eventually confirmed from the apropraite authorities that it wasnt her but another of the Doctor who had had direct contact with mr Sawyer.Dr Adadevoh is reportedly in coma.
