Nigerian Army Medical Corps Doctors Are On Strike.

I really do not understand why it always has to take the same strike pattern...why do they treat doctors like this in Nigeria?Their job is already bad enough,so why make them suffer more?
Anyway Read the following....

Good day Stella,
I hope this meets you well, I am a Doctor working in one of the military hospitals in Lagos. Some of us were given appointments early this year under Ministry of Defence as either House Officers or interns in the Medical field, however, since February when we got the appointment no one has been paid till date.

This has been a recurring problem since 21years ago, but this time around we are kicking against it. As at Monday September 9,2014 we have all gone on strike and will only return to work when we get paid.

Please Stella on behalf of others I implore you to use your blog as a media tool for us to get word and awareness out there as the MOD only works well when they are embarrassed and cajoled i‎nto doing what they should have rightly done.

We have publications already on ‎HERE and HERE

Note that your blog is the only blog that has this info at the moment apart from the two medical forums it is published on there. We would really be happy if you oblige us. Thanks a lot Stella, God bless you''.

The report culled from one of the websites says

''This is to notify you that we the house officers and interns employed by the ministry of defense, Nigeria, having:

1) Considered the refusal of the ministry to pay up salaries since our appointments (6 months ago)
2) their insensitivity to our plights and various pleas to resolve this salary issue amicably
3) Refusal to disburse pay slip before payment of salaries
4) and inability ot meet up with the two weeks deadline of payment given to us by them.

Have decided to embark on strike action pending when our six months outstanding salaries are paid, along side disbursement of pay slip with effect monday 8th september 2014

Efforts to contact the ministry of defence at the time of writing this report proved abortive''

Yesterday was a day of mixed feelings to me. My day of emotion and sober reflection, hope beyond belief. I thank God for His grace and mercy.
I thank you all for the love and affection. I couldn't have expected more. I appreciate and celebrate you all. My good friend who lost a brother, I don't know why I cried while reading your comment, maybe because in this family the pain of each and everybody is my pain, the grief of anybody is my grief.
Stella am most grateful, am humbled. God will uplift you to the pinnacle of success, elevate you above your contemporaries and make all your wishes come through.

I have never cheated, and I will never cheat.
My comments here sometimes, are for fun. I respect women alot, they are kind hearted and deserve to be celebrated. I don't believe there is a bad woman. I think what they do is, react bad in a bad situation and react good in good situation.
My open apology here yesterday, was written out of my genuine desire to have back my love and happiness.

Even if it takes me rolling on the ground in a market square a whole day, just to have back my joy and happiness, I will gladly do it over and over again. But it seems the mind is already made up.
I THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONCERNS, LOVE, AFFECTION, PRAYERS, WISHES, MESSAGES AND HOPE.
MAY THAT GRACE OF GOD THAT HAS LEAD AND BEEN WITH ME FROM THE DAY I WAS BORN TILL THIS MOMENT, GUIDE, PROTECT, BLESS AND BE WITH YOU ALL, TILL THE END OF TIME.......
Above All, I Wish Everybody Heaven At Last!

    3. Forget that girl and move on. When a woman has made up her mind, there is no going back. I know how disgusted I felt when my ex was begging me to come back and my mind was made up. Everything he did irritated me. I'm sure Phrinkies will be feeling the same now. Let her go. She's not yours.

  9. I did house job with them 1991/1992 and they showed us the same wickedness. We got some arrears after we had left but greatly diminished as we couldn't confirm how much we were paid. The corruption has always been there that is why they have no equipment to face Boko Haram.

    1. The military which should be a yardstick for discipline and zero tolerance to corruption is heavily burdened with the two evils-indiscipline and corruption.. From their recruitment process, promotion, postings and retirement process. The top officers keep enriching themselves only to retire and use the ill gotten money to bulldoze their way into politics. Lets keep suffering and smiling.

    2. My uncle retired as a major, he was forced to retire because of how he embezzled funds. The military is just as corrupt as the police. Forget their gra-gra!

  22. He/she, who has worked, deserves his/her wages. I expect the MOD to look into this issue and if found to be true, pay the military doctors all their astounding salaries. This isn't right.

  23. Na teachers go strike next.
It is a cycle in Nigeria.
ASUU hands over to Doctors who in turn give the mantle to Teachers and then Labour Union. Which way Nigeria?
