ReplyDeleteNo he didn't insult them. I heard Kate and joke's names when he said:
1. That during kate's 40th birthday she talked about and reminisced on how those old days, they didn't hv money or find work so they decided to go and start acting
2. That during the early nollywood times wen it was all about juju in the movies, he lost interest in Nigerian movies and stopped watching the same story line(blood money juju etc) so he told Joke Sylvia Jacos to go and produce a sound movie for him to enjoy(as per joke is renowed and has good movie taste) which she did, he mentioned d name of the movie produced but I didn't catch it.
He said in d beginning that actors r joining politics and mentioned Kenneth okonkwo etc. Then at d end he said he himself joined politics cos he was hungry but after serving two terms as a member of house of rep, he now saw d need to do politics as a service to the country(people)
So unless the insult part were cut off b4 the 20mins I jst watched, then Gov Chibuike did not insult Nollywood or state he gave Kate and Joke money.

I think the speech was honest and candid. I didn't hear any insult. 'Some of u are products of necessity, not all' he said. Then he repeated agIn, '40% of u are products of neccecity.' 'Nollywood has created jobs for thousands of people. Let ur movies mirror society.'

He mentioned Kenneth Okonkwo, Joke Silvia and Kate Henshaw. Everything he said about them were positive.
The person who started the rumor does not u set stand English. I think I like Rivers state governor. He is Frank and open minded.
