Chinese Restaurant Owner Admits Serving Opium-Laced Noodles To Hook Customers

A Chinese restaurant owner has been arrested after allegedly lacing dishes with opium in an effort to keep customers coming back, BBC News reported.

The owner of the Yan'an noodle shop, known only as Zhang, admitted he bought 4.4 pounds of poppy buds in August. The buds contain the opium poppy seeds, from which the addictive narcotic opium is made.

Zhang allegedly crushed the buds into powder form and mixed them into menu items.
Police discovered the secret ingredient after one of Zhang's customers, Liu Juyou, 26, tested positive for drugs during a routine traffic stop.
Cops held Juyou for 15 days until he sent relatives to the restaurant to eat the noodles in question. After the family members tested positive for drugs, police launched an investigation.

Zhang was arrested and detained for 10 days.

An anti-narcotics police agent told BBC News that chemicals from poppy can build up in the body and create a positive result on an opiate drug test. Ingesting the food over a long period of time can even have an addictive effect.
Unprocessed poppy seeds used to be a popular ingredient in Chinese fare, but their use has since been banned, according to the BBC.

My fellow blog readers, did anybody know KAYMU.COM or EVERYDAY BOUTIQUE that is selling clothes inside unilag campus? Abeg they should return my money or change the cloth I bought from them, On sept 15th, I saw some clothes I like online through KAYMU.COM online store, I registered with them online and bought some cloth, eventually one EVERYDAY BOUTIQUE call and told me that there is a product I bought from his boutique through Kaymu.com. I said yes, he said ok, they are going to bring it to my house and I am going to pay for the service fee, I accepted, the next day they brought the cloth I bought and I paid them and left only for me to come back home and notice the cloth wasn't my size,I called immediately to tell him that the cloth was not my size that he has to change it for me, he accepted and told me that I will payfrom another service fee, I accepted, but up till now I have not heard from everyday boutique, I have called and called and called his line was switched off, I called kaymu online store and tendered my complain, they said they will look into it, but up till now, nothing have been done. Now I want to know, is this how the so called online bussiness operate? Why are they bunch of liars everywhere, if they can't change my blouse. Why cant they balance me my money? Have anyone experienced this type of thing? What do I do because I want to report them to the CONSUMER PROTECTION COUNCIL.

  27. I was getting addicted to a particular cow tail pepper soup. I stopped eating normal meals. A day without about 3 plates of the p soup ain't complete. It became so bad that I'd buy about 3 days supply so that I don't have to drive the distance again.
I even introduced my husband to it. After the p soup the next item on the agenda name knacking. Till I read somewhere how people used marijuana or igbo to make p soup. I started suspecting my customer. For almost a year now i stopped patronising her. She even saw me yesterday and was greeting me. In my mind I was casting and binding.

Go to America some diners and food trucks have people who eat in them twice a day the whole week......some food trucks have people lining up for hours just buy their favorite snacks......these are joints that some have been opened for more than 50 years or even more".....yes shit happens but nothing strange in addicted to a particular food....
