Dubai Murders Of Toba Falode And Oyams Alamieyeseigha

PRESS RELEASE ON
THE PAINFUL DEATH OF OYAMUYEFA ALAMIEYESEIGHA AND THE DOUBLE STANDARD OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN RESPECT OF SUCH INCIDENTS

It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we received the news of the untimely death of a citizen of Nigeria in Dubai, Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha. It is particularly painful to note that he died in his prime and under questionable circumstances.

OYEMS ALAMIESEIGHA

We send our heartfelt condolence to the Alamieyeseigha family and pray that God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

However, we note the swiftness with which the Federal Government responded to this sad and painful news with a call on the U.A.E authorities to fish out the killers of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha.

However, whilst this action of the Federal Government is commendable, it smacks of double standards. Recall that on 15th of February, 2014, Toba (Tyler) Falode was also murdered in hazy circumstances in Dubai. Recall also that the mother, Aisha Falode took it upon herself to carry out some discreet investigation into those circumstances and has since been crying out for justice for her son. Up till this minute, the Federal Government has not issued a single statement calling on the U.A.E authorities to fish out the killers of Toba Falode.

The Federal Government has played the ostrich in the case of Toba, leaving the mother and family grieving alone. The question is, with the swift response in the case of Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha, does the Federal Government value the lives of some of its citizens more than others?

More importantly, it must be said that it is the lukewarm attitude of the Federal Government towards the earlier cases of Nigerians murdered abroad like the case of Toba that has emboldened foreigners in foreign lands to snuff the lives out of Nigerians without any qualms. If the Federal Government had shown more interest in the case of Toba, perhaps the precious life of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha would have been saved.

We hope this is a bitter lesson to the Federal Government and we hereby re-iterate our call on the Federal Government to show more interest in the quest to find the killers of Toba Falode and bring them to justice.
Thank you.

  1. Sadly that is how it goes in Nigeria, If you have no one in the corridors of power no show for you. If you have no connections in Nigeria, you are on your own. God is watching.

    1. I'm glad someone is calling our government out.
The way they show preferential treatment is very appalling.
      Toba must get justice!
      Enough is enough!

Continue to rest in peace young man.

  3. Justice for Tyler Fray!!!

I hereby cancel my Dubai trip forever. A place where people can comfortably kill citizens of my beloved country don't deserve my $1 contribution to its economy. Nigerians stop going to Dubai.

  4. Such painful and untimely deaths. However the truth must be told, the Nigerian government does not in fact has never placed the lives of its citizens on the same pedestal. Perhaps if we had pressed for justice for Tyler this would have been prevented.
RIP to these young men I pray their families are comforted by giving them justice.

No condolence to Alams family cos they are the once that destroyed our educational system, and they send their children abroad to school. May their children continue to die, now they know how it feels to lose a child in a foreign country, useless politicians.

  13. Na wa oh! It's a serious case, the federal government has to be able to show the world that "Nigerians are human beings too" and our lives have as much value as people from other countries! #One Love#

  16. I can't even begin to imagine the heartache of the family members of these two. All that glitters is not gold. At the end if the day people should remember that Dubai is flashy and what not, but once you remove all that glitz and Glamour, you are on your own. Money talks and territory talks too. My little word of advise to my fellow Nigerians is to go there, enjoy your holiday and get out as fast as you can, 2 weeks max. I have a lot to say but would rather hold my tongue. God is the Judge of all things...

    5. Is Dubai the only place where people die carelessly? What about Nigeria? The people that died during the NIS exam have they gotten justice? Has any single soul been arrested or investigated for it?

Take it from someone that lived in the UAE for sometime, Nigeria is far worse. Yes there's a lot of injustice over there but it is nothing compared to the filth in Nigeria. So before you people start shouting about Dubai, remember that your country is not even qualified to be called a country.

  20. A government where a servin minister can kill innocent job seekers and yet nothing happens to him shouldn't be respected or voted back into power. Stay home and vote next year to get rid of this eejit people otherwise travel abroad and let the thugs decide who rule you and shut up.

  23. The rich also cry. We have 2 laws in Nigeria, one for the rich and other for the poor. The way our leaders from past to present abandon its citizens when problem arise is alarming. This issue is not only with current government but has been going on for years, with so many of our citizens incarcerated all over the world. Now see how swift government is reacting to the news of Alaime's son while that of Toba was ignored. Nigerian poor citizens are worth noting in the eyes of our leaders.
