Jaiz Bank Press Release On Malicious Viral SMS.

Our attention has been drawn to a recent SMS indicating that you can open a Jaiz Bank account with another Bank. We want to use this medium to appeal, to disregard such message as it is unthinkable to believe that you can open another bank’s account in another, other than the Bank itself. It is absolutely ridiculous, misleading and devoid of any sensible reasoning.

Jaiz Bank Plc. obtained a Regional operating license to operate as an Islamic Bank from the Central Bank of Nigeria on the 11th of November 2011 and began full operations as the first Non-Interest Bank in Nigeria on the 6th of January, 2012 with 3 branches located in Abuja FCT, Kaduna and Kano.

As at today, the Bank has 14 branches spread across its area of operation. We are currently in the process of finalizing our application for a National License with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). This will enable us operate in all the states of the Federation.

The Bank’s fundamentals are strong. It started in 2012 with capital base of N5billion which had since increased to N11.7billion well above the amount required for a specialized Bank National license.

Currently, the Jaiz Bank Plc is the only full-fledged Non- Interest Bank in Nigeria.

Our vision is to be the dominant non-interest financial service provider in sub-Saharan Africa.

We intend to achieve this by providing innovative, value-added, non-interest financial services to our clientele by employing the best people, supported by technology. That is our goal and we strongly believe that with your support and God, we will definitely achieve this objective.

The potentials for Non-Interest Islamic Finance are enormous.

    1. My dear, If you ask me, it's a welcomed idea. Visited their branch in Abuja, I was surprised. I saw so many Igbo business men etc and many of their staff are non Muslim and from everywhere around Nigeria. This has nothing to do with Sanusi. It's a good thing for Nigeria rather than all these other banks reaping us and making it hard for us to do business.

      Delete
    2. Who talked of SANUSI here now ? Miss know all;enemy of progress. In the world of business, choosing a location is entirely your choice and if they want to open in the whole of Nigeria, that's fine. Even if its the whole world, its still fine. I guess u are not into business, so you wouldn't know much.

    1. Yes there are soo many banks in Nigeria and you are free to choose whichever but calling them names just for nothing is distasteful of a human being. Its a free world. If you like bank with your shit. Nobody cares. Free this people. They just clearing the air for their prospective customers.

    2. @ Ewu, did they tell you that they are forcing you to come and open an account with them? it amuses me how shalow minded some Nigerians can be, even after graduating from school. so WTF did you learn then?

    1. First and foremost it is a non-interest Bank. It's really not whether it's an Islamic Bank or not. This bank is here to empower those who can't obtain loan for businesses due to the high interest rate set by most banks in Nigeria. And I'd really like to point out that people who even use this bank more are my Igbo brothers. For once, let's not be blinded by any religion talk.

    2. Yes it is. They just started up in some places and are yet to fully cover Nigeria so I guess that's why u haven't heard of it.

    3. It's an islamic bank and they always have a dominance agenda.... Don't get carried away cos it's non interest....Islam is a religion that always seeks to dominate others but boko haram is an extremist angle..... As a Christian I will not open an account with them any one who does good for them....

      Delete
    4. I'm so sad that you're so shallow minded. 'As christian I will not open an account with them' I want to categorically state that the most honest people you can actually transact business with are the Muslims. They're very transparent, they call it as it is. So please, take a chill pill.

    1. So, muslims can't have their own banks again abi? All because of shekau? Pls, let's not be gullible. We are talking smth serious here. Muslim bank or not. They are simply making a statement out there for the public to know.

      Delete
    2. People please, there's no reason to bring up religious talk into this matter. even if the bank seems to be Muslim ish. i know a few people ( non Muslims) who have accounts with the bank and have received loans. its just like any other bank, and i think its good that they are creating awareness on the matter, which most banks wouldn't bother to do.

    3. lol Shekau ke. def not. the Bank is as legit as they come. they have very good customer service too. duno about the non intrest loan thing tho, but if they do, then that's really nice

    1. Yea....just to avoid this in the long run since they are new, they are still planning to finalize their application at the central bank. Then, they can spread their wings to other states in Nigeria.

  10. What does non-interest banking mean? That if I have a savings account I wont get interest on it? I will like this bank to come to Lagos tho so that I can walk in and ask questions.

    2. mr sss. It simply means you can get a loan and pay back with no interest. Don't you just love that?

      Delete
    3. @SSS There are two things, you get an interest free loan, secondly if you have an account with them you also get interest, but they refer to it as profit sharing. It's a win win with Jaiz Bank.

    1. Now we, are segregating just because it is stated, its an Islamic bank. We are all one. Some Investors in jaiz bank are Christians. Being an Islamic bank only makes them bank in the Islamic way. However, the topic of today is just to let the public know what is happening in the SMS world.

      Delete
    2. I pity you cos u are one of those Christians who are not sensitive in the spirit.... Do u think u serve the same God? Allah is not the same as Jehovah that we Christians know.... Yes it is just a bank and won't charge interest, but u will be suprised what the real Islamic agenda is....samusi made this happen for them and being one of those sympathetic to the boko cause should make u think..... Christians who are not spiritually sensitive are so quick to see everything at face value

    3. Anonymous 9:09, I weep for you. Saying all these alone means you're really the one who's not spiritually sensitive. You're just wired wrongly and your level of paranoia is baffling. It’s a Bank that is here to better our lives. No hidden agenda, No hidden charges. And it might interest you to know that majority of their Staff are Christians.

  14. I love Jaiz Bank mainly because of their policy. I received an sms a while ago saying I can open a "Jaiz account" with one of all these regular banks. Apparently its a scam as only Jaiz bank is licensed to operate the non interest policy.

  15. As usual, all the ignoramus are out to give their expert ignorant opinions. Before you type a comment and display your stupidity, please google Jaiz Bank and find out what they are about. Islamic banking does not equal islamic religion. Read!

  16. Jaiz bank is the pioneer of non interest banking in Nigeria. Now, I see some banks are trying to copy that policy too. Would you bigots call those ones boko banks? They brought a good thing that would support the poor man and enable him attain his dreams and you people are here hating. Muslim or Christian, we would all profit from this. So let's support the idea and ignore bigotry.

  17. Oh wow! Thank goodness for this post. I got a text last week from a short code saying open a jaiz account with us, I deleted it because I didn't know what it was about and I cant remember the name of the bank again. But apparently thisbank is trying to piggy back on the good name and success of this jaiz bank and steal their customers. Thats very poor.
