CONTROVERSIAL Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in Zone 7, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu, yesterday, continued his bully of Nigerian citizens he is paid to protect.
He ordered the detention of Africa Independent Television (AIT) reporter, Amaechi Anakwue over a frivolous charge.
Mbu invited Anakwue to his office for allegedly referring to him as a “CONTROVERSIAL police officer” during a television programme.
It was learnt that on getting to the office, Mbu ordered his men to detain Anakwue.
Last night, the management of DAAR Communications demanded the release of the Journalist.Mbu, who was Rivers State commissioner of Police was redeployed to Abuja,following his hostile relationship with Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
In Rivers State, Mbu was accused of authorising the use of “rubber bullets” to disperse a group preparing to hold a rally, in which Senator Magnus Abe was shot.
On getting to Abuja, he authorised the use of water cannon to disperse protesting lecturers of polytechnics and colleges of education at the Eagle Square.
He recently described himself as a “lion”, who tamed a leopard in Rivers State, apparently referring to Governor Amaechi.
Amaechi, however, lambasted Mbu, describing him as a man who “completely lacks the steel and strength of character of a lion, and is rather a shameless, corrupt puppet and toothless attack dog of a woman”.
*Mbu should be redeployed already abeg.only assistant IGP and his power drunken state has escalated.Is he not controversial? or does he need a dictionary definition of the word...or maybe he just needs some headline space?---whatever happens he should make sure nothing happens to the Journalist he has detained...he should make sure!...Mscheeew!
If GEJ had detained all the people that insult him and call him clueless...nobody will be remaining. Oga Mbu behave yourself. You're impinging on his Fundamental Human Rights. If he turns around to sue you now...it will be. Stop giving haters a reason to take a dig at GEJ's administration. This is an unwanted and unwarranted mess.

While I won't want to discuss Mbu's tenure as CP Rivers State & the alleged role he played in plunging the state into an avoidable crisis as a result of his bi-partisanship or the absence thereof, I'd like to state unequivocally that AIG Mbu is a threat to democracy, an anathema to everything a professional police force should represent. If Mbu becomes IGP tomorrow, trust me fellow BVS, you'll not open, read or comment on any blog space without his approval. Dude is so full of himself. Ordered the detention of a journalist coz he called him 'controversial'. What should President Jonathan do then for all the countless adjectives that have been used to describe him?

What that coward and bully, Joseph Controversial Mbu (JCM) did to that innocent journalist is so, so WRONG and must be condemned by everyone.

Any attack on journalists, bloggers or media houses is an attack on all of us. We must not allow it. We must chase all the Joseph Mbu of this world out of power.
The journalist should file a counter claim against Joseph Controversial Mbu (JCM) for malicious prosecution, breach of human rights and false imprisonment.
Defamation is a civil act, not a criminal act. Joseph Mbu is not above the law. He has no right to detain anyone for "DEFAMATION." He needs to go back to nursery school or ANGER MANAGEMENT. He must be summarily and severely dealt with immediately.
Rather than loiter around Abuja and help Madam Peace (Patience Jonathan) to push shopping trolley, carry her handbag, chew bubble gum and gossip, Joseph Mbu should earn his salary like a man and be containerised (like a chimpanzee) to Borno State to face and grapple with BOKO HARAM terrorists, thugs and uncivilised creatures like him
With immediate effect, the IG of police and President Goodluck Jonathan MUST suspend and terminate the employment of Joseph Mbu.
