President Jonathan And Ndoma-Egba Get Endorsement

Non-governmental organisations, professionals and youths from Cross River Central senatorial district have adopted President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential poll and endorsed the Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN) to return to the Senate.

At a special mobilization and sensitization rally held at Ikom over the weekend, 44 youth/women groups, led by representatives of the district at the Nigerian Youth Parliament, ratified President Jonathan’s endorsement by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (NEC) and also, demanded Ndoma- Egba’s return to the Senate next year.

Speaking at the rally, Representative of the Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Prince Ayu Ojor declared that it was only proper to return Ndoma-Egba to the Senate.

“The people of Central Senatorial District under my leadership in the Youth Parliament officially endorse President Goodluck Jonathan. We want him to continue in 2015. The next generation belongs to us. Nobody can dictate to us because this is our time. It is our collective decision that the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck should reach every youth.

“It’s not easy to rise to the position of Senate Leader. The last time we had this kind of opportunity was in the Second Republic when Senator Joseph Wayas was the Senate President. Now that we have this opportunity, we don’t want to lose it. We are even hoping to get something higher in 2015. I have been directed to endorse the re-election of Senator Ndoma-Egba, the one we know, the voice of the senatorial district and the only one to lead us in the right direction,” Ojor said.

In a similar development, the League of Professionals, including the Grassroots Democratic Movement and the National Association of Nigerians Students (NANS) Zone B, have equally endorsed both Jonathan and Ndoma-Egba as their candidates for next year’s polls.

Mr. Demetrius Okim, who read a 12-point communique, signed by 31 professionals, including Senator Mathew Mbu Jnr, Ndoma-Egba’s predecessor in the Senate, reeled out some achievements of the Senate Leader, which earned him their endorsement.

The communiqué read in part: “At a recent meeting of professionals held at Ugep and after a critical analysis of his contributions in his Senate, having awarded more than 500 scholarships, sponsored over 200 pilgrims to Jerusalem/Saudi Arabia, provided large volume of agricultural inputs, trained over 500 indigenes in small and medium scale enterprises and provided them with start-up capital, laptops for students, among many others, and that every member of the Central Senatorial District has been touched, and has shown total and unalloyed loyalty to the PDP, we endorse the Senate Leader to go for another term. We also thank the PDP NEC for rewarding loyalty...SUNNEWS

  7. I pity my people. Ndoma Egba again? Really these things he did just to get your votes aren't a privilege. They are your rights. Things he was meant to use his position/office to get for you. Or u think its his personal funds? Mtcheeew. Wicked man, leading myopic people. What's my own sef. Iv collected my permanent voters card. Now I have a second valid ID card, and d good Lord knows that card isn't going to be used to vote for anyone. Mtcheeew.
