The director-general, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Mrs Dupe Atoki, has written a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, to thoroughly investigate a case of threat to her life “by persons suspected to be in Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited and Nigeria Bottling Company (NBC).”
The letter referenced, “CPC/HQ/588/Vol.II, dated 11 November, 2014,
requested the urgent intervention of the IGP regarding the threat case and urged him to exercise his authority and leadership to ensure that “the threat is not carried out.”
Atoki explained that in the exercise of the mandate of the Council, following complaints of defective products of Coca Cola bottled by the Nigeria Bottling Company, the CPC investigated one of such complaints in respect of two half-filled cans of sprite and substantiated the allegation of product defect and violation of CPC Act, based on which several recommendations were made “and orders thereto issued to Coca Cola.”
The orders are that: the two companies subject their manufacturing process to the Council over a period of 12 months, formulate a shelf life policy to facilitate removal of their expired products from the market, review their traceability policy to make it easier for the companies to track their products and payment of cost of investigation and compensation to the aggrieved party.
On the heels of these orders, the DG said, “At a meeting held in June 2014, and attended by myself, Amb. Apata, an NBC Board member, and CPC legal adviser, Amb. Apata threatened that he had connections in high places to call me to order”. - Dailypostng reportage

Serves as milk for baking, tea, pap etc. I don taya for stories on Aspartame, Cancer-related additives bla bla bla. Abeg whoever needs Coca Cola bottles make e contact me ojare. Wobbish!

ReplyDeleteMy dear,I also noticed that each time I buy packs of canned coke/fanta for the house, after some days I will notice stains inside the fridge and on a closer look I will discover that one or 2 of the coke/fanta is leaking. How come?

It's high time the appropriate authorities did something about this.
ReplyDeleteIf they have to investigate threat to life they should investigate all major companies in Nigerrupption. To work with companies like Shell, chevron, NBC,nestle, ain't easy with level of corruption and impunity there. What about civil service work is even worst, when you work with all this companies and get to the top level or even small level you either join 24/7 church or you keep permanent native doctor close to you if you believe in their performance is that bad.
Most of the companies even have high society occult group and meetings were they plan their evil and if you are not in agreement with them, you get killed through sickness, murder, poison. My godfather was murdered in cold blood years ago when he was newly promoted by shell, until now noting happened those who killed him has taken his position. A family friend left his job with chevron two years ago and ran to states because of threat to his life by his co workers, too bad. My dad faced problems working with a foreign firm until he retired. Nigeria police are too corrupt to even do anything for you ma.
