National Assembly Brouhaha - Nigerian Police Tender Explanation!

There was commotion at the National Assembly complex today because Nigerian Policemen shut down the area and some house members decided to play Spiderman by jumping gates and fences thinking they had been locked out.
The Nigerian Police has swiftly tendered their explanation of what happened today.
Read if you care.

*Meanwhile Senate President David Mark has shut down the National Assembly till November 25,2014 following the brouhaha.

''Following an intelligence report of a likely invasion of the House of Representatives by hoodlums and thugs, the Nigeria Police Force promptly deployed its personnel to the premises to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
Consequently, the Police condoned the area and began screening of all members and visitors alike.

In the course of this lawful exercise, Alh. Aminu Tambuwal CFR, arrived the venue with a motley crowd, who broke the cordon, assaulted the Police and evaded due process and the Police had the duty to restore order and normalcy, using lawful means

The IGP seizes this medium to warn all political actors and their followers to respect constituted authority and due process and to desist from the use of thugs to pursue their agenda.

The Nigeria Police shall continually apply all lawful means to prevent a breakdown of law and order in all segments of the society and shall apply the full weight of the law on any political actor who violates the peace and security of the nation''.

    1. I will studiously stay tuned to Radio Nigeria Networks 7am tomorrow, hopefully to hear a coarse and dutiful voice bring on that fading introductory short phrase; Fellow Nigerians....just immediately after the National Anthem and the martial music plays while we await "Further Announcements"...... We have been there before, this too shall pass!

    3. Only a fool will believe the statement issued by the police.. Unlike Stella there were reporters who witnessed what happened. There was a deliberate attempt to block the speaker and APC members from the assembly comblex .... As usual Stella will only dish out the part she thinks is favourable to Jonathan.
The idiotic you call president is digging his grave and preparing the ground for a very bloody coup. It's just a question of time...Mama B

  12. You know we have descended beyond the jungle when government agencies now lie to the populace brazenly.

What screening would Police be doing other than identifying yourself by presenting your Identification card to show that you have legitimate business. Does the Speaker, Tambuwal, look like a hoodlum or was he not properly identified before he was prevented from entering the NASS Complex?

LIES are now been elevated to official position in the country. SMH.

  17. I said it, Why did he come with hoodlum if his hands are clean, just to break down law and order! Tambuwal face your work, you are no longer speaker. And Stella the people that were scaling the fence are APC lawmakers, what a shame. Those are the supposed saints to replace PDP. Until the opposition can come with credible candidates, PDP remains. We are moving forward not backward.... PH GALx

  24. Hmmm, Nigeria police can lie! I think the president is too desperate to return but he's surrounded by ill minded ppl in his govt. As an eye witness, the speaker was humbled in his approach, no hoodlums as claimed by the police, and never has any principal officers been subjected to any form of security checks at the gate thats why they hv their plate numbers customized. Pdp members hv made it so to impeach the speaker which can only happen in his absence and he's smart Enof not to let them override him

  25. They should all be fired. When the very people who are supposed to act in accordance with the law cannot do so then your country is doomed. These are not men who should be even running a chicken coop much less a state.
