Detectives from the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba,Lagos has arrested a 25-year-old former student of the University of Lagos.
The student identified as Oluropo Tifase who was dismissed from the University allegedly stabbed his father, Moses Tifase, to death due to an advice from the father concerning his inappropriate behaviour.
It has been reported to the police by sources at the area where the murder was committed that the suspect (Oluropo Tifase) truly murdered his father.
Kenneth Nwosu, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), while confirming the incident said that the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Comfort Tifse, Oluropo- the suspect and Olufunmbi the sister to the suspect were at the scene of the murder.
Nwosu further stated that findings have so far showed that the suspect and his father had not being in good relationship and were confronting each other in a heated argument before he finally killed his father.
He said, “The suspect and his late father had a sour relationship, due to his unruly behavior. The father and the son have not been in good relationship, but on the fateful day of the incident, the suspect and his father engaged each other in a serious argument.
“The suspect angrily picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed his father on the neck,”Before officers from FESTAC station could arrive at the scene, Mr. Moses was already lifeless and lying in the pool of his blood"
Briefing further, Nwosu also stated that three suspects had been transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation. - dailypost

Bastard child. Another prodigal son has killed his father. So the other guy's experience hasn't made any much impact on these juvenile delinquents? We didn't use to have these sorts of reports in this part of the world before now, considering how "morally strict" we have always been. Growing up I didn't by chance hear of any child that could as much as talk back to his father, not to talk of hitting his father or killing him.

DeleteIt was evident in the circumstances that led him to kill his father, as the fathers undoing that fateful day was because he asked his son to answer "amen" to their usual devotion, and the boy lost it by attacking his father.
His excuse? He said because the father was imposing prayers on him. Haba? Biko what else could that poor father have done? If he was trying to teach him the way of the Lord and he got angry like that, how else could the father have trained him?
We all know the price of the school fees in that school. It is called sacrifice but the son of a gun still didn't appreciate it. Woe to him wherever he is. Am so pained cos i'm a mother too.
And don't forget the other son of Jezebel that killed his mother in the UK. Reason? Again he said his mother was forcing him to read the bible. So he killed her. See I'm not asking that parents should force anything on their children.. we have to be methodical if we must imbibe certain habits into our kids. But how can we have kids and yet be afraid to talk to them?
All I knw is that the parents involved in this sad events so far haven't done anything wrong. Perhaps the kids involved got engaged with the wrong set of people.
Don't forget that It takes 2 people to birth a child, but it takes the entire community to bring that child up morally. In this case they got mixed up with the wrong crew. God help us
