FG Mulls Ban On Porn Websites – NSA

The National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), says the Federal Government is planning to introduce a law that will ban and block all porn websites in the country.

He stated this at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on use of social media organised for Islamic preachers, Imams and youths in Kaduna on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the workshop, which was organised by the national body of Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamatis Sunna (JIBWIS), aimed at correcting anomalies in the use of social media.

Dasuki, who was represented by the Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Turaki, said: “Government is planning to ban and block websites that inculcate negative attitudes in our children but we need a law to support such move.

“Because without a law, people can go to court and claim infringement on their rights.” he said.  culled NAN

    3. Smuggling such videos into Nigeria will be like smuggling cocaine. Imagine one dvd selling for 50k. That's what this proposed ban will do to anything rated R. At least we will still have our beautiful Cossy to look at.

This man and his yeye "proposing" friends are hypocrites.

      Did it bomb anyone?
Did it cause d increase increase in exchange rate and so on? Yet people supported the federal govt for wasting their time on irrelevance. Am not a fan of gays but when a govt starts paying attention to minor things and gets support from the masses they keep jumping from one frivolous item to the other.

  21. I'm sure their attention was drawn to porn when statistics pointed out how Nigeria was the third country in the world with the highest numbers of gay porn search on the internet. I think that tells us a lot about our men and the general reigning hypocrisy....anyways, suffice to say that if they actually succeed with this endeavour, porn business will become big business in Naija based on the pure law of economics of the rise in value of whatever is scarse.

    How does banning porn:
    1. Bring back our girls?
    2. Fight corruption?
    3. Give value to the naira?
    4. Provide employment?
    5. Build good roads, schools and hospitals?
    6. Defeat Boko Haram?
If I decide to watch porn 24/7 how does that concern government? Na dem buy data for me? Abeg, stop pursuing shadow and tackle the real problems facing Nigeria!

    2. 1000 likes for your comment Milady! A ban will help people who are addicted by making it difficult for them to feed the addiction. This is a welcome development and anyone who cares about the salvation of his/ her soul should welcome the news, regardless of whether it comes from Muslim or christian quarters. What's good is good, and what's bad is bad. WWJD?

It has destroyed homes, marriages, fueled paedophilia(access to cheap Internet on cheaper phones little children as young as 6 months are paying the price), rape, necrophilia and other terrible sickening things.
The disturbing things we known, seen and handled as "teachers" would leave even the strong hearted traumatised!
Child psychology/therapy is a field that requires more hands as below the surface in this country is a ticking moral TIMEBOMB.

Afterall you can buy the movies but it will go a long way to help the younger generation who just stumble on such sites or go there due to curiosity.
