Nigerian Used Friend’s ID In The Uk For Free Medicals - SEE GOBE!

A pregnant Nigerian woman’s plan to use the NHS as an ‘International Health Service’ to deliver her baby and then have the child declared a British citizen was foiled when she was exposed as a fraud, a court heard.

Couple: Rita Ogunkunle and Michael Adebambo, who registered the child as theirs

Oluwaseun Adenubi, 30, used the passport of her friend, 32-year-old Rita Ogunkunle, to obtain free care. After the delivery the friend and her boyfriend Michael Adebambo, 46, registered the baby as theirs.

However, staff at Farnborough’s Princess Royal University Hospital realised the medical records of the genuine Ogunkunle, who had received acne treatment there, conflicted with the pregnant patient claiming to be her.
“The probation service think this is a plot to use the ‘International Health Service’ and then take further advantage — the residency that comes with that and everything else,” said Croydon crown court Judge John Tanzer.

Mother: Oluwaseun Adenubi claimed to have found the passport on a bench

Adenubi, who was granted a family visit visa which allows her to stay in the UK for up to six months, pleaded guilty to fraud against the hospital between April and July last year.

Ogunkunle and Adebambo, both of Orpington, pleaded guilty to wilfully giving false information about the registration of a birth by claiming to be the parents of Moses Adenubi, at Bromley Civic Centre.

The couple have now fallen out with Adenubi, who claims she found Ogunkunle’s passport on a bench. Ogunkunle said it was snatched from her home and used behind her back.

“The probation service are there to report what they have been told and they say they don’t believe a word of it and neither do I,” added the judge.

Prosecutor Alexandra Bushell told the court: “Maybe there was a motivation to secure the nationality of the child as a British citizen and free NHS treatment. After the baby was born in June staff realised something was not right because Ogunkunle has severe scarring, which the baby’s mother did not have, and there were two different blood types for the same patient.”

Ogunkunle was arrested in August and claimed Adenubi took her passport after moving into her spare room.
“She admitted falsely registering the birth of the baby and said she had been introduced to Adenubi by a friend of her mother’s and took pity on her because she was pregnant and had no friends,” added the prosecutor. “She told police she was angry at Adenubi using her identity and tried to beat her to it by registering the child.”

Miss Bushell went on: “[Adebambo] said his girlfriend asked him to go to the register office to register a birth and said she told him she did not want another woman to use her identity.

“He said he did it out of love for his girlfriend and was very remorseful.”
“[Adenubi] claimed she was fleeing a violent partner in Nigeria and claimed to have no family here and no contact with her family in Nigeria.

“She said she arrived with nowhere to go and met a Nigerian man at the airport and others via a church, but had no details of those she stayed with.

“She claimed to have found Ogunkunle’s passport on a bench and only used it to get free medical services.” All three were bailed until a date to be fixed.-culled from standard.co.uk

    3. She wouldn't have to go this far in the U.S because she can use her real name and form any SSN and birth the child without them knowing it. And besides, getting a baby's passport is easy once u have his/her BC. They (U.S) usually do not scrutinize the mothers status but would just issue the baby a U.S passport.

These ones can't even lie. She stole ur passport but u decided to punish her by registering her baby as urs? Taaaa u can do better na. You prolly agreed to it because u want to be collecting the baby's benefits jare. U are in hot soup o.

  35. Should have gone somewhere else to have the baby not an hospital where they are both known. But the child will legally belong to her friend. Why do that?
I remember when I went to London in 2009 and my daughter was sick, took her 1st to the walk in clinic and it was free no questions asked. When it got worse we went to King hospital (i think) and the treatment, hospital stay and medication was free.
I tot its free health for children and child birth regardless of status in the UK. Guess everything is changing.
Its ok to sit here and judge but the struggle for paper is real.

  39. This is serious . I guessed neither of them watched anchor baby although just slightly related. What will become of them now. The wiman will be deported bsck to niger with her baby. The other woman British citizenship will be revoked and may face jail term. What a life

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @Shakirat, stop saying what you don't know please! There are certain rules under which citizenship can be revoked it granted by naturalisation. The girl in question though Nigerian was born in the UK 32 years ago to British Nigerian parents! British nationality granted by birth cannot be revoked it's not under the imigration rules o. Please don't come and confuse people here abeg.

Regarding the other lady with visiting visa and a child. Please be aware that the 7 year rule no longer applies unless of course your application is currently at the home office under the old 7 year rule. The law as it stands now ( and that may change come April 2015) is that children born to non citizens of the UK (known as British subjects) will only be considered for citizenship after spending 14 years living in the UK.

  45. The person na Igbo person. Na only Igbo people get hatred for Yoruba people for Nigeria. Every other tribe in Nigeria including Yoruba people tolerate each other, respect each other and try to live in peace and settle their differences amicably, except the Igbo.

Igbos are the only ones causing tribal war in Nigeria especially against the Yorubas. An example is their biafra bullshit, they are the problem in this country. biafra, biafra, biafra but they do nothing about creating the biafra. They should go create the biafra and get out of Nigeria.
