    4. Nig need to inform themselves. That US and UK and some other oil producing countries are not members of OPEC doesn't mean they don't produce oil.
The problem with Nig is we wanna live in a land where everything is free. Who then bears the burden? There is no free lunch anywhere. Do u knw how much people in US,UK and other Euro countries pay for amenities? Why do u think bicycles are encouraged in Europe? Why do u think people in UK do communal living? The US citizens are complaining of heavy taxes (the same taxes u all don't wanna pay).
Nig truly have to decide on what she wants. You can't eat ur cake and have it.

These GEJ campaign teams are bunch of bastards full of cheating. It's time u realise we are not fools like you. Venezuela has the cheapest fuel in the world @ 3 naira per litre followed by Syria @ 9 naira per litre after conversion. Libya is 3rd @ 21naira and 27 naira in Saudi Arabia when their currency is converted to naira. We have so many countries who sell @ cheaper prices from 30 naira to 80 naira. These countries are Turkmenistan, Kuwait, Iran, Bahrain, Algeria,Qatar, Oman, Sudan, Brunei, Trinidad n Tobago, the UAE. All 15 countries sell @ naira equivalent from 3 naira to 80 naira before Nigeria that's sells @ 87 naira. So why did these fools make it look like Nigeria sells the cheapest. What a shame. Imagine Libya selling @ 9 naira equivalent. Should I say may Gadaffi's soul rest in peace? After ripping citizens, you cannot even provide stable electricity n other basic amenities. You all leaders suffering the masses and depriving them of their rights and entitlement will all suffer on earth with various calamities and rot in hell IJN. Amen.

    8. @Anon: 16:10: Are you asking me where your refineries are? You should ask your GEJ who didn't make improving the economy his priority. All he did was aiding and abetting corruption. Look at the oil prices in the Arab nations and you see Nigeria is way way behind. At least the Arab countries are also oil producing.
Your life is so confused and frustrated that you think everybody is like you hustling for freebies in Stella's IHN. Delete
    2. You and Galore are so daft to compare Nigeria and these countries. The questions are what is the minimum wage of salaries in Nigeria? What is the standard of living of Nigeria compared to these countries? What is the population of these countries compared to Nigeria? Is electricity stable in Nigeria compared to all these countries? There are so many questions to ask but no time. An average US citizen earns like 2,000 dollars a month which is 400,000 naira . If a US citizens fills up his/her car in a week let's say 60litres, @$0.64 or N117, that's N7,020 in a week and N28,080 in a month. Take 28,000 naira out of 400, 000 he earns in a month, he is left with 372,000. With 372,000 left an american is still happy and comfortable. Now come to Nigeria and buy 60liters in a week @N87, that's N5,220, which makes N20, 880 in a month. Now take N20,880 from a minimum wage of 18,000, ain't u left with debt of N2,000, u are automatically an onigbese. Let's even say u earn 60,000 a month just like state government staff e.g (LIRS)in Lagos . Take 20,000 out of 60,000 and u are left with 40,000. Petrol for generator never dey o, @ the end of the day, a Nigerian can't save 20k in a month conveniently after deducting all other expenses like house rents, food etc. Meanwhile in the US, with 372k left after filling up his car, he pays house rent, buys food etc he can still afford to save 150k to 200k conveniently. Now how do u compare US where u can save 40 to 50% of ur salary to Nigeria where one will be indebted as regards N18,000 minimum wage or @ most can only be able to save btw 15 to 25% of one's salary as regards LIRS staff in Lagos. Nigeria is a messed up country, where we lack basic amenities especially ordinary electricity. Petrol should be sold @40 or 50 naira per litre in Naija cos we produce oil and make billions of dollars yet we lack basic amenities. All these countries compared to Nigeria have stable electricity, good roads, good health care, good education, good jobs, good and transparent govt, good and affordable food and the list goes on. Onyereka and Galore are stupid as ever. May ur lives be run the way GEJ is running Nigeria IJN. Amen

    5. Truth hurts? Where is your own "average American" earning 2000 per month.

      Delete
    6. @truth hurts as much as i would like to agree with you entirely baring in mind Nigeria lacks in social amenities i woul like to tell u that you shouldnt give facts about the US on assumptions.. I will tell you for a fact why in simple terms..
Now let me start with your average US salary which is $2000 a month equivalent to N400,000-
The US pays you averagely reasonably you know why cos virtually all your money goes back to your needs..
With $2000 a month i will break it down for you so you know you are left with Nothing so u know the person who earns less than 100k in Nig might be richer than your idol in d US.
      $2000 monthly income
      Deductions:
      1. Monthly apartment rent: $580
      2. Monthly apartment insurance: $8
      3. Monthly car payment : $320
      4.Monthly car Insurance: $115
      5. Weekly gas : $40 x4 : $160
      6. Monthly Electricity: $180
      7. Monthly Water bill: $35
      8. Montly house neccesities &feeding: $200
      9. Monthly Phone Bill : $60
      Total: $1,658

      Luxuries
      1. Monthly internet- $40
      2. Monthly Cable - $80
      3. Cigarette per pack - $6 including tax. (Calculate how much addicts we hv)
      4. Health Insurance - $100
      5. Monthly Flexing & groove - $ 300
      Total : $526
      Overall Total : $2184
Now the reason why i broke this down to you is cos nigerians dont know d real truth living in d US or UK or europe.. It is not as rosy as people fake it to be. Now this break down is even one of d cheapest break down u will get.. Not forgetting that out of that $2000 monthly salary you are heavily taxed on it and just so u know for u to buy and drink water in d US u will pay tax. Every thing is taxed. Now to living in Nigeria.. The person with N60,000 salary might not have enough but if light no dey u fit manage.. And choose to control how much gas u use on ur generator.
I am 100% accurate wt my analysis cos i pay all this bills every month.

    8. @ anonymous 20:28
Thanks for this breakdown. Most Nigerian like @truth hurts just sit in there houses and make assumptions without any facts. I am presently a student in the Uk and I can tell you that it is easier to survive in Nigeria. By the time ur done with bills, you have little to nothing left. That's why most people have more than one job. The problem is Nigerians can never be satisfied. A country where people get away with not pay tax and we keep complaining. The corruption runs in all of us so this attitude of pointing fingers has to go. If we want to make naija better, start with yourself.

      Delete
    9. Anon 20.28, where in the US do u pay 62cents a litre for gas? I just filled my tank with 93 Octane (not even a grade available in Naija) for $2.11 a gallon which approximates .52cents a litre. The basic grade available in Naija retails around 30cents a litre in Michigan. The list is a pure lie!

By the way, give up smoking and stop buying Champagne when u go out!

      Delete
    10. Anonymous 20:28. How much you dey make every month? Because 2000 a month na for beginner. You will be so broke.

      Delete
    11. Anonymous 20.28 has said it all..@Truth hurts get ur facts strait before coming to Mk noise here..

      Delete
    12. Anon 20:28, if I should list all what u listed as expenses of Lagos state staff who is left with 40k after buying fuel of 20k, obviously he or she would be indebted, na wa o, u even had to add cigarettes and flexing in ur lists, common! The argument here is the amount we spend to buy fuel in Nigeria, u said urs is $160, that's a little over 5% of a $2000 salary, but in Nigeria, buying fuel of 20k from a salary of 60k, Haba. That's 33% of the salary nah, on top fuel for car? I don't want to talk too much however, I would so love it if you and Audrey Mcgregor can relocate to 9ja especially you(Mcgregor) who said it's easier to survive in 9ja , then u can prove us wrong. I used to live in UK and have equally been to the US, they are living good lives there as long as u work. I was comfortable while in UK but since I came to 9ja, it's been hell, so many biz have collapsed, no electricity, no basic amenities, people indebted due to govt policies and all sorts. I have people that have worked in the US, they came to 9ja to start biz and have taken to their heels back to the US cos of one problem or the other n u have audacity to say Nigerians are not satisfied, u for come back nah, if UK or US don tire you, then ur eye go clear.

      Delete
    13. I will repeat myself just so the guy or whoever that says he buys 93 octane. I drive a mini SUV and i buy gas for $1.65 a gallon and every week i use more than $40 gas which is $160 a month at the least. ( you prolly dont know how far i drive to work so dont judge) now this is the least i pay for gas. So i am 100% accurate cos this are my bills. Now to @truthhurts if u notice i added cigs to d luxuries cos smoking is a luxury. I dont have to apologise to anybody for bad habits.. We all have 1. Also liver no get u to buy champagne out.. I am saying once in a while u can go out and have a gud dinner and margarita and your bill wt tips and tax is waiting for u. What i am saying in essense is do not over judge nigeria even with the fact that we lack in social amenities.... It is way easier to save in nig than anywhere in d world if you earn what you stated.$2000. I earn above that for the person who asked and that is because i went back to school in the states. My advice to anyone travelling out of nigeria, plan to go back to school so that u can work in reputable places.. Else u will b livin from hand to mouth unless u marry a rich dude here. Have a good day all. Love from the US. Anonymous who gave the break down.

However, even if US and Norway's petrol is even higher than Nigeria (despite the lies cos US sells @ 0.48 per litre which amounts to N100 per litre), the petrol price in these countries is justified cos they have everything in place. Do these countries export their crude to be refined outside their country and brought back for their citizens' use? Don't they have refineries working for them? Do we have basic amenities in Nigeria? You ignorant fools shouldn't just get me angry o. Later bv will say one shouldn't rain curses on some people. With the way global oil prices dropped , fuel is meant to be sold for about 45naira a litre now not 87. Nigerians celebrate mediocrity, thats why our leaders get away with the crap they do. What is 0.62 dollars to an american? Thats like saying 10naira per litre, how won't the exchange rate be high when the naira is now worthless. Lets stop celebrating mediocrity

Why don't we have a functional refinery?
Why do we have to export crude and then buy at expensive price before subsidising?
If we have our own refinery, wouldn't it be cheaper?

    2. @iphie, work in progress for 5 years plus? Do u realise Buhari was the last president that witnessed the 4 refineries functioning,I BB came on board and the refineries were neglected up till today. We have been practising democracy since 1999, that's 16 years and refineries still not functioning. Shouldn't we rather have a change of party/govt @ the center so the parties can sit tight and do the needful. It is time to let the govt know there is no excuse, if any party/govt fails to perform, they would be shown the exit door. It's simple as that, it's not rocket science. 62. @ Truth hurts, u sound so intelligent, great analysis i must say, to the anonymous comparing living in Nigeria and USA or UK,please come back to naija if u feel u spend too much in USA, at least over there u have a job but by d time u return and u trek for months without getting even a teaching job ur eye go clear..mtchewwwww, that's how all these peeps living abroad will be saying nothing dey abroad yet they all refuse to come home..Some Nigerians have the strength to do even two jobs but they gat no opportunity bcos the most job slots are given based on connection.Nigerians pay tax too and these taxes are deducted at source so what are the tax payers money being used for? PHCN brings exorbitant bill regardless of whether u had power supply or not.
The average Nigerian is suffering and u dare not compare pls.
U can survive and save good money abroad if u cut ur coat according to your cloth,is smoking and hanging out to drink a part of d basic needs of life? the fact that u waste money on all that doesn't give u a ground to make general comparison of how much an average American worker spends monthly.
