Dancing With HatsForward For Goodluck

Goodluck Times an online news media has announced the commencement of its Countdown of its #HatsForward dance video campaign.

The Countdown began from 2pm Yesterday Tuesday, 24 March 2015. Shortlisted
have been showing from 2pm and thereafter by the hour. The Top Ten winners will be announced at goodlucktimes.ng at 8pm on Wednesday, 25 March 2015.

Since the campaign broke on 14th March, 2015 youths across Nigeria, Nigerian youths have literally thrown their hats in the political rink, but totally in a violence-free style. Through the campaign, they are encouraged to celebrate their freedom of choice and express their support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s reelection with deft freestyle dance moves.

To participate, youths are expected to get a hat, any hat, dance to their own grove, in their own neighborhood, and then pass their hats forward. The forward movement of the hats is symbolic of the ideas of communality, unity in diversity, and the informed choice of the Nigerian youth to move forward as they go to the polls on Saturday.

The groundbreaking #hatsforward campaign positively exploits imaginative and youthful energies of young Nigerians and marks a radical departure from the perception of Nigeri’a young adults as easy tools for political violence.
The campaign has been receiving positive feedback for its promotion of positive values.

    6. Governor of Ekiti state. Fayose, is intimidating his people @ Ekiti state. As I'm writing this msg right now, with military personnel and with his thugs, the people are crying for help. Fayose, the leader of the thugs!! Will not go unpunished... They say Buhari is sick. I agree that Buhari is sick. I am sick too. Any Nigerian who is not sick is not sick because he or she is incurably sick. We are all sick. And we should be sick. Because the way this country is going is getting worst everyday, yes,...

      ...Buhari is sick of the monumental corruption that has become institutionalized in Nigeria;

      ...Buhari is sick of the incompetence of a government that cannot protect the lives and properties of its citizens;

      ...Buhari is sick of the lack of a sense of urgency in the circles of government in Nigeria;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country that has placed itself on permanent reverse gear;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country that has left itself naked as it is raped dry by vagabonds in power;

      ...Buhari is sick of a youth population without jobs;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country where university education has become comparable to 8th grade competence in advanced civilizations;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country where roads are death traps;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country where people go into political offices near poor, but turn stupendously wealthy overnight;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country where education is priced beyond the reach of the common masses;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country where $20 Billion (possibly $45 Billion) of public fund develops legs and walks away, its whereabouts knowingly unknown;

      ...Buhari is sick of watching the country he loves ranked at the number one corrupt country in the word by the International ranking

      Buhari is sick of a country that earns billions of dollars in oil revenue, yet has not a single functional oil refinery;

      ...Buhari is sick of a country where government has bowed to the dictates of power generator cabals in a conspiracy that ensures perpetual darkness on it citizen, Nigerians wake-up the time has com to make that change of Government. This is the time now #ihavedecided to vote for #change#

    7. Irabo give up now? Isn't it obvious to you that GEJ has won? Surely you can't be that blind? No matter the kind of money you've made from APC it shldnt still hold you ransome! Why should we vote gmb? Even d gmb is not even campaigning anymore, Tinubu had even started negotiating with GEJ them and Amechi is planning for the country he'll escape to and apply asylum. It's time to care for the future of our children. GEJ is working.

  26. At the end of the day; it's not about GMB vs Jonathan, the north vs the south, Christians vs muslims or the rich elite vs the masses; really, it's about one simple thing- Conscience.

    As a northerner from Yobe state, I have been affected in more ways than one. Many of my extended family members and friends have been killed and the ones still alive are now internally displaced. Both my grandmothers have relocated and whenever I visit, I see the pain etched on their lonely faces. Is it easy to leave your home of more than 40 years? My sister in law's village has been completely destroyed, neighbours and family burnt to death and so she has no where to return to. She is over 60 years old, where does she start from? At a point, I had 8 people in my house because they had no where to go and as you can guess, it wasn't easy and it's still not getting any better.

    As a doctor, my sanity and physical stamina have been severely tested as I believe, there is precious little I have not seen. After the central mosque bomb blast in kano, I used to wake up at night trembling, sweating with my heart rate >150! Images too gory to be described plagued my mind night and day and tears, too much to be quantified have poured from my eyes. As if that is not enough, doctors in the past year nationwide, have experienced more strikes than we care for. Whether, it was NMA, ARD or JOHESU, we have all been affected and innocent people have suffered, some even died. Our residency programme has been prolonged, all due to poor leadership.

    As a young person, I identified with those who suffered and lost their lives during the immigration fiasco. I knew quite a number of people who attended the 'exam' and could relate to the desperation they felt. Unemployment is a horrible disease as it's complications are numerous. I thank God for my job, but what about those who lost their lives? And those who continue to roam the streets in search of daily sustenance?

    And lastly, and most importantly, as a mother, I cannot begin to imagine what it feels like to know your child has been kidnapped and quite possibly, never return. It's almost a year now, and the girls have not returned. Every time, I check on my kids at night and see them sleeping peacefully, I mutter a silent prayer of gratitude. How does one sleep knowing your child is in the hands of Savages? Forget sleep, how do I breathe?? I have heard real life encounters of women giving birth in bushes while fleeing for their lives, only to leave the newborn behind because they have no way of caring for the child.I cannot begin to imagine the horror and anguish those women felt that would make them do such a thing, I simply cannot.

    At the end of the day, really, it's about looking into our conscience and asking: 'am I voting the right person?' 'can I defend this vote before God?'

    If you truly believe in your heart that Jonathan is the better candidate, then by all means vote for him, it is, after all, a free world. But if like me, you have been affected physically, mentally and socially, and you feel enough is enough, then do the right thing and vote for change.

    God bless Nigeria!
    Dr. Fatima Damagum.

    3. But Dr Fatima is it not ppl like Buhari and tinubu who went to tell Hilary Clinton that der was nothing like boko haram? And dat GEJ was trying to kill off his brothers in the north? Don't you know that was the reason America refused to sell arms to us initially? You want us to join you to vote for someone that was sympathetic to the ppl that killed my fellow Christians and your brothers? Obviously you are so blinded by tribalism you don't even know.

    4. Was it Niger deltans that killed ur people no.was it Ndigbo that killed ur people no.was is de OPC, de Afenifere? And now there are no more infidels nor churches to bomb as they had killed and bomb all our people they claim to be infidels. Now they had turned back to there people as there are no infidels there to be killed enymore ur here vomiting robbish. Dr my foot.
