Insurance giant AIICO Insurance Plc has joined forces with The Bowtie Club to blow the whistle on Kidney Disease, a disease which has over 20 million Nigerian sufferers.
The need to create more awareness and force Nigerians to have a rethink of their habits has led to this initiative which promises to throw more light and force public discourse on the need to pay closer attention to this 'silent killer' in a bid to curb its spread.
It is this regard, that a Charity Football match featuring Ex-Internationals led by Victor Ikpeba featuring Peter Rufai and Taribo West with other such notables
has been organized. These Nigerian football legends would be squaring up against the best of Nollywood led by Fred Amata and the comedian of the moment AY Makun on 21st March, 2015 at the Campos Mini Stadium located in the heart of Igbosere Lagos Island. |

It promises to be a very exciting outing with other such equally prominent teams from UBA, Sahara Group and the Galacticos joining in the derby.
Apart from further exploiting the rivalry between Nollywood stars and Ex-Internationals which was ignited at the last Copa Lagos tournament, this promises to be a very heated encounter with Fred Amata the leader of the Nollywood team vowing to take a pound of flesh from the Ex Internationals.
The Tournament is being organised in honour of Mrs Ganiyat Ogunfoworin who recently lost her life in faraway India while battling the Kidney Disease and who on her death bed asked The Bowtie Club to do all in its powers to ensure that more Nigerians do not go through the harrowing experience she went through
This would be an annual tournament that would provide the opportunity to launch the Kidney Trust Fund which is a Fund that would lean heavily on social media to raise N200m for Kidney patients. The Fund would be held in custody, by CSL Trustees Limited a Member of the FCMB Group, who will ensure the efficient utilizationby by Kidney patients.
Other celebrities power joining in this crusade include former Mr. Nigeria Brian Okwara and Ene Lawani an Ex Miss Nigeria , both have agreed to lend their voices to this initiative. They will be hosting winners of a Raffle draw to Dinner exquisitely prepared by the very upscale restaurant Yellow Chilli. it promises to be a fun outing.
