  1. Did someone read the news of Arab sheikhs contributing 750million dollars for Buhari's campaign? And someone wants to tell me this Muslims don't have a bigger wicked plan For Nigeria. I pity the Christians that are being fooled. Buhari is up to something and my God will not allow him succeed. He is still an unrepentant dictator as seen in the debate and a fanatic yet some Christians are falling. God save my nation

    1. If you know the critical sectors of the economy he has headed, you'll understand he has depth of understanding beyond your realm. If every sector of our economy works optimally, there's little or no reason why the value of the naira can't be at par with the dollar or close.

      LIES AGAINST BUHARI BY PDP:
1, They lied he said he would make the country ungovernable for gej

2,They lied he said he will stablise oil prices

3,A million other lies they concocted against him in utter desperation!

    4. @nora,I agree that the dollar's rising against all other currencies but the situation with the naira was mostly artificially created for electoral gains. If all sectors of our economy function optimally and we become export-dependent,the value of our currency rises amongst other things.

  11. What is the big deal in Buhari saying he will make dollar equal to the naira. A redenomination or a revaluation can do that. CBN can do that even though it is an exhaustive process, it is entirely possible. Ghana did it about 7 years ago. USD went from 10000 cedis to $1 to .$1 to one Ghana Cedi. There are ways to do it if becomes critical for a country's economy. But only leaders can make that assessment and subsequent decisions. Moral of the story is choose you leadets wisely.

  16. For those ALWAYS harping about the rise of the Dollar against the Naira, please take out time to educate yourself. The rise of the Dollar is a global phenomenon. Over the past few months, the Dollar has risen against virtually every currency in the world. Ever wondered why the Naira has not falling against other currencies such as the Euro?

    In September 2014, 1 Euro = 211 Naira.
    Today, 1 Euro = 217 Naira.

    On the other hand:
In October 2014, 1 US Dollar = 105 Japanese Yen.
Today, 1 US Dollar = 120 Japanese Yen.

    In September 2014, 1 Euro = 1.3 US Dollar.
    Today, 1 Euro = 1.08 US Dollar.
    Culled.

Meanwhile I do Forex trading with Bforex based in Bulgaria and I know that the dollar is not affecting the Naira alone but most currencies and have heard friends abroad saying it's the wrong time to do business cause of foreign exchange.

All the opposition knows is change, what change? From GEJ to a man that does not know what he is saying? I don't think so.

  20. As at Thursday last week.1 euro was 250naira, 1pound was 340naira, 1 dollar was 225naira. Get ur facts right. The naira has fallen against every other foreign currency not just the dollar, so it's not only an oil price thing. It's a thieving mechanism of this wicked government.

    2. Sugabelle you will notice that the that the increase in the euro rate cannot be compared to the USD. The euro has always been in the range of N220/€1 even before now. The USD is like our second currency in Nigeria cos all WDAS/RDAS from the CBN is only in USD. The Euro and GBP is always cross-rated and the crazy USD rate can directly affect it.
