World's Oldest Person As She Celebrates Her 117th Birthday

The world's oldest person according to Guinness World Records, a Japanese woman, turns 117-years-old.

Misao Okawa, who was actually born on 5 March 1898 in Osaka Japan, but now lives in a nursing home celebrates this year's birthday a day earlier with her family. 



Speaking at the celebration today Wednesday, she said that 117 years didn't seem like such a long time.







Staff of the nursing home where she lives said she has slowed down a bit in recent months and has trouble with her hearing but that she is still generally in a good state of health and eats well.




Mrs Okawa married her husband Yukio in 1919 but he died in 1931 leaving her with two daughters and a son. 

Mrs Okawa now has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was officially recognised as the world's oldest person in 2013 by Guinness World Records.

    World oldest, I dnt tink so, my granddad died in 2011 at the age of 124, he had hearing problems and loss of brain coz he couldn't even if has a family or nt. Bt sometyms he's brain comes bck to normal
