Etcetera Says Today's Church Is Leading Many To Hell

OMG...he is here again with another controversial piece ....Preachers aint gonna like this one bit!

He says....

"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent. – Revelation 3:19.

Much of the church today is living a lie. Many of you have been told continuously that you are saved and headed for heaven. Nothing could be farther from the
truth. Many of you are heading directly to hell. The systemised lying that is going on in the church has deceived the pastors and the people alike. It is a case of the blind leading the blind. You all need to pray – fervently because many of you are “lost”. No matter what you call me, no matter how you view this issue, no matter what position you have, no matter what church you attend, you have to admit that something is wrong with the church.

Below are eight facts why the church is leading you straight to hell:

There is almost no evidence whatsoever that the early church had their “services” on a Sunday. They gathered together ‘from house to house’ virtually every day! People did not dress up and “go to church.” There were no denominations or separate groups with different ‘labels.’ They lived their lives together – And the apostles in Jerusalem preached everyday at a huge open-air gathering, not “hidden away” inside four walls. Church buildings do not exist in the Bible. They were invented around 200-300 AD, when the church was in serious decline. Church buildings are anti-New Testament, and they bring with them a host of problems and traditions. It was when the church fell into the hands of Rome that this concept of the “cathedral” took over. And today, we are still spending millions building these beautiful monuments while the worshippers are starving.

The words “prosper” or ‘prosperity’ were NEVER used by Jesus at all – and only mentioned a few times in the entire New Testament. Yet our greedy pastors have built kingdoms upon them. The words – “sell what you have and give to the poor” and “deceitfulness of riches” and “you cannot serve God and mammon” and “woe to you that are rich” were DEFINITELY used by Jesus and the apostles, but you don’t hear them preached by your pastors, do you?

Tithing is not a New Testament practice at all. And it is being shamefully abused by today’s preachers. In the Old Testament, tithing was only applicable to Jews and to the land of Israel and that was at a time when a great number of them lived in Babylon, Ammon, Moab, Egypt and Syria.

As a result of that, the land they occupied became tithe-able lands. Tithes were not acceptable from Gentiles’ lands. So my brothers and sisters, you need to ask your pastor why he is collecting tithes here in Nigeria. Also, the only people authorised to receive tithes were the Levites – (Hebrews 7:5). If your pastor is collecting tithe from you, ask him if he’s from the tribe of Levi. Even Jesus who was a Jew couldn’t collect tithes because he wasn’t from the tribe of Levi but from that of Judah. And if your pastor insists that being a worker in the lord’s vineyard qualifies him as a Levite, please remind him that Levites had no land and did not own properties.

The Jesus of today’s church is a “Father Christmas,” a Jesus who exists mainly for our own “happiness;” a Father Christmas who wants to rain down continual blessings upon us; a Jesus of grace and mercy without judgement, righteousness or truth. Our gross misrepresentation of who Jesus really is, is one of the most serious offences of today’s church. We worship a “plastic” Jesus – one that we have painted in our own image. What an offence to God.

What we have today are churches that are so loose that they excuse any sin or misconduct, including homosexuality and adultery. Aren’t we supposed to accept only the truth of God’s word? But instead, we have opted for a modern church that is socially based, smooth and sophisticated, and presented like a Nollywood movie with men and women of ogboni fraternity dressed in their occultic regalia occupying special seats during services. Something is wrong!

What happened to the strong calls for repentance that brought thousands down to the altar to repent and ask Jesus Christ to save their souls? This is the litmus test for Christianity; it is the essence of the Cross; it is the great commission that Jesus commanded us with. If your church is not winning souls, then it is like a barren woman, and it is a shame. Something is wrong!

What happened to the outpouring of the Holy Ghost? Do we even know what it means anymore to feel the presence of the Spirit of God descend on a service and fill up the room with holiness? Or we just love that party atmosphere and excitement when the choir plays a boogie-down song? Or we love to scream “ride on pastor” in the excitement we get when some charismatic preacher works the crowd? It’s been so long we’ve felt the presence of the Holy Spirit that we don’t know what it is anymore. Something is definitely wrong!
Lots of pastors are aware that there is something very wrong with the church today. They know there is little ‘fear of the Lord.’ They know there is no deep repentance or deep moving of the Holy Spirit.

They know that it is just the same old “game” being played every week. A lot of them are very aware of this, but they will not do anything about it. They will not rock the boat. And they will destroy anyone who comes along trying to do something. They do not want any reforms. There is too much to lose. They have their careers and their “kingdoms” at stake. This is the truth of the matter. Most of you are worshippers of your pastors and not God. Many of you are hell bound. So pray my brothers and sisters. Pray for your souls. Let me stop here and leave room for you to call me names. But do remember that the church is leading you to hell – not me!"

    1. A lot of what he's said is actually true. Candidly, these are known facts (to a lot of people), but no one wants to be seen as the devil "rocking the boat".

I'm sure many would come out chastising him, but for those that can think deeply (not those that just wanna go with the flow), he isn't far from the truth.

    4. I do not agree with the entire piece but I am loving a whole lot of his highlights.
Truly a lot of churches cum pastors are clear example of Blind leading blind

E.g pastor yellow yellow. Leading his gullible followers to hell afterall according to him "God is a game, people are frustrated. Key in into their frustrations cos they are already gullible" that's the saying of pastor yellow yellow.

The other one go jerry curl hair sotey activator became unreasonaby expensive. Changing women like his boxers with the xcuse of they are possessed hence end of marriage/rrelationshhip. Plus many many atrocities that I dont have energy to type
U talk now, e go use English scatter your head and dictionary may be far from you.

The other one nko? Part and parcel of the reasons why activators and jerry curl gels won't come any cheaper and yet he will keep making 'Kings of 419 and all of those Fred ajidua's boys deacons in his church. All follow for God's apostles. Issorait!

What about the one that keeps shouting "emmanuel" ? To that one, everyone is possessed and the demon must come out. Pastor exorsism.
You talk now, LE will come after me.

All those running from pastors to woli to solve their problems, they are not God.
Get on your fucking knees and pray!
God hears all, he sees all.
He said ask and you shall receive.
Seek and you shall find. Turn to your bible , open the pages of Mathew and read more...
God's promises are endless to those who come to him with a clean heart

To those warming up to come and build hut under my comment shouting BLOGLORD hypocrite, blasphemy. Thou shall not judge.

      Taaaa!

Did I offend you with my opinion? You should hear the ones I kept to myself.

I wonder where the Church of Christ lost it.
I go to church these days feeling like i'm in a village meeting or a concert of some sort. There's NOTHING spiritual going on there, absolutely NOTHING. Dunno if the Asaba social club spirit has taken over the. Asaba branch of my church or something! Itz really pathetic! The girls dress like Prostitutes, the men cheat on their wives openly, divorce rate is on the increase especially among Deacons who leave their wives for single sister..........

    3. The only thing I can say I give God my tithe not the pastor because it's a biblical injunction.
The moment you think of it as your pastor's you are in trouble.
God says pay tithes so that he would rebuke the devourer for our sakes.
cos I know the way heaven fights me when I dont pay tithe.
I have bad dreams and lose things worth even more than the tithe.
last year I sent some money to my brother and so ignored d tithe.i lost
over 200k. I rushed to pay the tithe as soon as I got money.
Besides I read the testimony of a man who said he went to heaven and non tithe payers go to hell cos that 10% isn't theirs.
It is God's.And you are owing God if you spend it.
MALACHI 3 VS 8 says " Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me.But ye say, wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and in offerings.

The truth is that most pastors don't preach repentance and the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. They tell u that God is merciful, if u sin,he will forgive u but they won't tell u that that same merciful God is also the God that consumes with fire. They won't tell u that u can live above sin,They won't tell u to live a holy and righteous life, they won't tell u that the wages of sin is death. That is why I like Pastor Kumuyi. He preaches the undiluted Word of God.

  20. Religion is one sensitive topic to discuss/argue. Most people who play into it are too emotionally skewed to input rationality into it. As long as "Papa" or " Daddy" said it, it's word on marble. It's true that if we despise the men of God, we despise God but viewing God's word through the eyes of MOGs makes MOGs infallible. Shouldn't we really test the spirit? Shouldn't we stack up the proclamations of MOGs against God's word to see if they will measure up? Questions that bend the will.

In this part of the world where the basic needs of life have become luxuries, people must turn to religion for comfort. It's against this background that some pastors prey on the vulnerability and gullibility of members to feed their insatiable appetite.

I no go even talk put for this matter. Happy weekend all.

They're fast to quote malachi 3:10 pastors hide from members the fact that money was not acceptable as tithe. The tithe was a tenth of the seed and fruit of the land and of animals which ate of the land. Please read leviticus 27:30-32 Deu 14:22-28 Moreover, the only ppl authorised to receive tithes were the leverest (Hebrews 7:5) if your pastor is a "tithe collector" ask him if he happens to be a jewelry. Remind him that, even though a jaw,Jesus could not receive the tithe because he was not from the tribe of levidence but from that of Judah.therefore, if Jews no longer tithe because the levites are a losteoporosis tribe, how can Christian pastors collect tithes when we are not even Jewish, how much more lelites? # sHomi say so

  22. Firstly Mr writer should understand that tithing is a duty of a christian, kindly read Malachi 3v8 and that will give you more insight to your blind soul. We give our tithe to God and not pastors. Besides note that it is not a mandatory thing but we do it because we know the blessings attached to it but all you do is look at everything with your Physical eyes and not you spiritual eyes. May God open your spiritual eyes.

There are alot of things that go on in the spiritual realm that your physical eyes cant see. you say churches keep building beautiful building but worshipers are suffering;oga maybe its your church o.. the church i go to ensures their worshipers are taken care of. Whatever the situation they will try to assist you.

  27. I agree with everything he's said except the part of tithing. Giving is greatly encouraged in the bible and we pay out tithes to God not because he wants our measly 10% but because he wants to see that we are not in anyway attached to material things. Because whatever you're very attached to is what becomes your god and He clearly states that He is a jealous God.
Also when we give, we motivate God, we move Him. I once heard the fastes lt way to get our prayers and petitions answered is by giving. And as Dr Charles Stanley will say, you cannot outgive God and the more you give, the more you receive. You want to receive more? Then increase in your giving. They're clearly stated in the bible. God lives a cheerful giver.
So I agree with everything he's said, except the tithing part.

  28. He is so right! He couldn't have said it any better. What happens to preaching repentance and love? Loving one's neighbour as you love yourself...that which is second greatest commandment with the first being loving God. Jesus told a rich man that the only way he can make heaven is giving up all he has and follow God. Today our preachers go after the riches more than God. They only recognise the wealthy and reserve the front seats for them, which is against the bible. They hammer on tithe like it's the only thing in the bible. Prosperity and miracles are all I hear in churches these days. Worst are the gullible people who swallow every single thing because that is what they rather hear. God help us.

Because he couldnt give to some1 that really needed it Lazarus, and am sure he always paid his tithe as well. Not saying that giving to the poor is more important than the church but believe it or not the poor and the sick in Nigeria need more financial assistance than all our pastors put together. Y are Nigerians still suffering irrespective of the numerous churches everywhere? Because of the lack of LOVE and UNITY in our churches, tribal disunity and esp. discrimminating the poor and needy. Do it in the memory of me not in the words of our various preachers.

Is the tithe supposed to be fruit and farm harvest meant to be shared in the church amongst memebers, during the service or the percent of ur salary to be taken to the pastors for their personal use or 'ministerialjet use?

  31. I agree with etc. but religion is a very delicate subject and that is why I try not to discuss it because people get offensive about it. There are a lot of people that have questioned a lot of things going on in the church and because of this have stopped going to church, those who still believe have the right to do so, it is their right. But people have to start asking questions when something does not seem right or ring true. In Nigeria especially churches are no different from any other business.

    1. @ Anony 10.14am, I like your level of reasoning. Religion is such a delicate if not touchy a subject. The soul stirring messages one hears in church services that make one retrospect and be sober have been replaced with emotional offerings. The pious and conservative looks of Pastors have given way to the toga of pomposity as the man struts about on the pulpit exciting our base senses. In the euphoria of this show of excites, he deals the "giving" card and in that state of vulnerability, we empty our pockets to service his flamboyant lifestyle. Pastors now subscribe to hypnosis to further control the mind of members.

Anyone who attempts to question the new order of pastorpreneurship gets his/her voice drowned in the din of "judge not.."

We know that the things of God defy logic but didn't God give us find minds discern good and evil?

  32. He is very right!!!!
Most of us really have these so-called MOGs, papa and mama GOs, pastors, 'pastresses', priests, reverends, whatever fool us because of our ignorance and laziness. We have refused to learn by ourselves by reading the Word and letting the Spirit of God teach us all things. What with the way they LIE and say as a Christian you are not meant to suffer cuz Christ has nailed all of it to the cross and borne our suffering..... Lies from the pit of Hades!!!!
It is being a Christian, a truthful one, not a religious one that would make your light shine so bright for the devil to come with his temptations and it is your being well-established in the truth which is the Word that would make you defeat him but that he leaves doesn't mean he wouldn't come back to test by stealing your happiness and making you go through tormentous times. Meanwhile, God would let those things happen so that you can move from one level of faith to another.
Leaving all the work to your so-called pastor to teach at the pulpit and fill your head with his own(in most cases) bizarre interpretations of the Bible is why most of us are so lost.

Work on your own spirituality under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

He's partially right and partially wrong .that's how the church I've been attending .they sent a new pastor to come head the church.this man on a particular Sunday was prating for the sick and those white problems .there was this man using a walker. He had an accident and you all know how it is ..This man went to meet the pastor for prayer .the pastor specifically told the church that this man was walking home that day with new bones .we were all screaming .after 2 seconds of praying and all. (Maybe the pastor was trying to follow the footstep of their overseer .Chris oyakhilome). The ushers were now holding the man away from using the Walker .this man was shaking eh
Even the pastor that wants him to walk with new bones didn't even spend up to a min praying for him .he had already left the man .I'm pretty sure the man was angry .sure he had faith because u all need to see how he was shaking without the Walker hoping that was his testimony .before u know it .he pushed the Usher away and jejely held his walker .still stayed in the front maybe waiting for the pastor to come back to pray for him .pastor didn't come back .the man went back to his sit later .I'm pretty sure he was disappointed because the pastor raised his hopes .the pastor didn't even talk about the man issue again. I was disappointed .why say something u couldn't do .on another hand .maybe he only deals with spiritual cases not physical ones .mtcheeew

  45. Well....I support him on this, many of our so called popular pastors Do not preach the gospel the way they should, they are just particular about numbers.
Only few members are interested in hearing God's undiluted words, the ones not interested want to go to a church where the service is groovy, where the pastor mostly preach on prosperity and how to make money, don't get me wrong, I didn't say there is anything wrong in doing this. All I am saying is our pastors need to get back to being God's mouthpiece.
You will see a known church member very well known to be a 419 coming to church to pay his tithe and a pastor praying for such a member and you wonder why our society is so corrupt?
Pastors should learn to lead their members in the way of the Lord and always preach the truth no matter what it takes them.

  46. Etc I love the 'no holds bar' way you write. But your views on Sunday worshipping, tithes, prosperity and church building is wrong in this write-up is jaundiced in my opinion.
If you had done your research well, you would have known that from the day Jesus resurrected (first day of the week: Sunday) the apostles met every first day of the week, it might not have been back to back, but each time they came together from resurrection to Pentecost was always on the fist day of the week (Sundays). That is where the Sunday worship took its roots.
The Holy spirit you talked about would not have come on the apostles if they were scattered in all of Judea, that tells us that when we gather in oneness, unity of purpose, love and harmony the presence of God will surely abide.
Brother, you don't gather under a tree, but in an enclosed space, logically to shield you from sun and rain, hence a building and one that can be identified and easily accessible to all. And because our God is worthy, judging by the schematics He gave Moses for building the Ark of covenants, it's only sensible and obedient to build Him a 'cathedral'.
As for tithing, why you think it's only the Jews that should pay tithe is because in the old testament and before Jesus was born, the Jews had the exclusivity of being the descendants of Abraham (remember Abraham payed tithe to Melchizedech, pardon my spelling), now having been grafted into the family of Abraham by Christ (also remember the song Abraham's blessings are mine...) it's required that we obey the principles of our new lineage, i.e. for us to enjoy the blessing, we should also obey the law.
As for prosperity, 'the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof', since we're joint heirs with Christ, we need to enjoy the inheritance of our father both here on earth and in heaven.
The thing you be preaching is , just like Jesus said in matt.23:23 we should not do one at the detriment of the other.

N.B this one you based your arguments on the new testament albeit prejudiced, remember Jesus did not come to abolish the law, rather to fulfill it. The rest of your points, I agree with.
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Pastors fail to mention that father Abraham only tithed once in his life time. When he did, he did not even tithe his own money: he tithed the spoils of ear. He gave ten percent of the land plunder he took when he rescued lot to Melchisedec, king of Salem. But then he did not even keep the rest but returned it ( all ninety percent) to the King of Sodom. Malachi 3:10 he does not say, that there may be money in my house. The food was used to feed the levites, the poor, widows orphans and strangers. How many pastors feed the poor in churches today? #sHomi say so.

Etcetera .You said the honest truth about pastors and men who are suppose to serve God but will our citizens listen. Those you preach to will come here to curse you out as they hate people saying the honest truth, they will curse you out and tell you "Touch not the anointed" wondering who anointed those men.
We are truly being deceived by men of gods who are meant to lead by example as christ did but are not. Due to ignorance, poverty, quick fix to solutions, no work but expect miracle from citizens we continue to be fooled. No one dare criticise church leaders as all are semi god, what a shame. British and others who brought christianity hardly go to church visit most white churches abroad you only see old men and women or few worshippers and those countries who do not visit pastors or worship in big churches have honest people than us who sleep daily in churches. I ask myself what do we really worship when we have no good heart only to kill brothers and sisters.
Pastors build big churches and universities but the poor who contributed the funding can't afford to send their kids to their universities.
The issue of tithing nowadays i do it directly to individuals no church tithe i only do offerings in church. if you want to pay your tithes to impact someone directly forget tithing in churches do it in these blog or go to the street and impact someones live and see your blessing come directly to you. Because those money/ envelope you drop in churches are used to purchase private jets, yachts, cars fly first class and also build more universities to enrich themselves.
Our fundamental problem in Nigeria are two things religion and tribe, pastors have taken advantage of citizens poor situation to enrich themselves. None talk about salvation only prosperity, breakthroughs, riches, anointing.

Look at the past election and how pastors lied and supported a leader openly while casting and judging the other candidate as muslim even when they knew current administration was performing poorly. High flyers-pastors (Daddies & GO's and others) have gone into silent mood filled with election surprises none saw the masses demand for change coming even with their miracles it all happened like Hollywood movie to them. Is time to ask your selves questions about your so called religious leaders and the worship of men of gods in the name of Christianity, men who refused to stand for the poor masses but rather stand for their own selfish interest. I believe in praying my way out and not depend on any MAN.
Government should start Taxing both mosques and Churches, tax received will be used to help the poor and vulnerable.
Black people worship God more but check out all black nations in the world like Haiti,Brazil, Dominican,Africa countries all are in abject poverty, war, famine, corruption. I ask myself if we are cursed as black nations or we are not doing the right thing. I believe we are not doing the right thing couple with bad leaders who are selfish, is time for us all to revisit our bible and revisit our souls. The Truth is "we are worshippers of pastors and not God".

It is an overkill to harp on the palpable religious situation especially in Africa but is the exodus way the way? I attended one Lunch Hour Prayer Service in Central Area months back. In the course of the prayer, the MOG mentioned that someone in the church is pursuing a contract and if he doesn't come out to vow that he would pay 50% of the profit to God ( that Church Branch alone), he would lose the contract. You needed to see how everyone expecting a contract rushed out to vow, I am not going to mention the part where only those who pledged certain amount of money in categories got the pastoral prayers. I am not going to mention it. I went back to work feeling deflated.

My wish 4 today's Christianity is that there wil be a common name boldly written on the temple of God on dis planet earth ie CHURCH OF JESUS regardless of who owns it. CHRIST neva preached membership buh DISCIPLESHIP. If there a common name to evry Church of God, pastors wil not afraid to preach the truth buh here bc he want a large offering n partnership frm members, it wil be difficult 2 call a spade, a spade. Again, giving in tithes n offering is not a pathway to heave buh to prosperity,, d principle of giving n receiving works 4 evryOne both christian n non, let's us not be deceived buh whatever u hav given, u ve already gotten d reward on earth in d same measure. 58. I agree with him, especially in the area of tithing. Most tithers wont agree but the truth is, Christians are no longer binded by the Mosaic Law so are not required to pay tithe.

You see, tithe is a compulsory levy imposed by God to the Jews so that the levites then who are not required to work will have something to eat. And then, they inturn will have to pay one tenth of whatever they recieve for the widows and the fatherless. But as Christ died he modified that law being that every man (whether Jews, Gentiles and all) exercises faith in his ransom sacrifies became Christians (Not Jews).

Besides 2 Cor 9:7 has this to say: "Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsuion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Note that the scripture says not under compulsion? But the tithe was a compulsory levy to the natural Jews.

But if you have resolved to be paying one tenth of your income to the church every month, then fine so long it'll be given cheerfully but let ni one compel you to. And if another person can not afford to pay one tenth of his income every month, let no one judge him for he is not under compulsion to do so. What ever you are able to give God is ok.

For God loves a cheerful giver

He called it his father's house. He chased traders away with a whip cos they were desecrating it. Second, have u read the story of the widows mite? A simple popular story. It all happened because of offering! Who a better offering. On the issue of tithes, it's a personal thing. It does not have to be 10%. You can give more! It works for him. I know what happens to my finances if I don't pay my tithe and I know what happens when I do! We worship a God who is a spirit. I don't give a shit what d pastor does with it. I leave him to God! Overall, our Christian race is a personal one. God will judge every one individually! We all know the truth and it will always set us free.

People have become so gullible that they believe anything that gives them a ray of hope that one day they shall overcome their current predicaments. Most people who go to church in Africa nowadays don't even consider salvation as one of their reasons for going there but rather the quest to better their lot. Anyways, let God be the judge of all.

I try to enlighten some friends of mine about the reverence for churches here in Nigeria being very much overrated by the over-enthusiastic members. Most church loving people act like severely brainwashed puppets to their pastors and it's painful to realize that they do not have a mind of their own when issues come up.

  70. Very good. Etcetera im with you on this. Imagine majority of them deceiving their flocks getting richer and richer while their flocks suffer in abject poverty. With all their fake prophesies. Is no longer money, designer items, private jets, property acquisition is now POLITICS.Who is fooling who.If i hear touch not my anointed you will tell me who anointed so many of them.

  71. This guy is a Pharisee....so because the apostles didn't go to church on Sundays so it means if you go to church on Sunday u r going to hell....Amazing! Wasn't that what Jesus was trying to address when some people condemned him for performing a miracle on sabbath day! Look been religious is hypocrisy...Following Christ is Christianity.
My other question is that, Is Etc now God that he is able to pass judgements? It is well.

  73. Nemerem you are very wrong about the Sunday that u said Christ resurrected. Jesus said the son of man will be in the earth 3days and 3nights so if he supposedly died on Friday and resurrected on Sunday morning that means he stayed only 2nights na and he cannot lie so please read ur bible properly before commenting on topics like this. Etc is correct about Sunday not being the right day of worship

  76. Indeed, so called 'men of God' have become 'god of men'; but Etc, u must study to show urself approved. Do u even know d definition of d word 'CHURCH'? U are d 'church', d abode of d Holy Spirit therefore, ur body's God's temple. About tithing, read John 21: 15-17, wherein Jesus Christ instructed Simon Peter to FEED HIS (CHRIST'S) SHEEP, in other words, gather n provide physically n spiritually for God's people. Ur tithes/ offerings are required to feed Christ's sheep. *Note: Then, Jesus Christ preached in parables. Now, He's back on earth bringing His elect to d accurate knowledge of d truth about Jehovah God n His kingdom. YES, CHRIST IS BACK! -D Power of Alchemy
