INEC Adhoc Staff Cries Over 13K Salary Offered

Please read the following memo and share your thoughts....

Good morning Stella, we really need your help. Your blog can help raise our voices to INEC and NYSC as we are being cheated by both.

I'm a corper and most of us partook in the last elections as INEC adhoc staff and now we are being offered a paltry sum of 13k as wages. The money is so small considering what we went through. I missed sleep for three days...didn't bathe...lived on biscuit and pure water and at my polling unit, I was almost lynched, my guts got me out...

There was no security agent around sef but I survived. Now, after all the wahala, this people are bringing 13k... If they had told us from the onset, I wouldn't move an inch and to cap it all, the payment now varies from state to state... Some are paying 10k, 8k, 9k, 12k...only few paid the 13k...where's the rest of our money?

I don tire no be small. Jega should please make this money worthwhile else he and his staff should come and conduct the next elections. We no dey do again.

Signed: Disgruntled Corper

So how much were you expecting to be paid?so you cannot serve your motherland for free? Are you not a corps member again?Your duty as INEC adhoc staff was part of your duty to the nation.the 13k NA DASH SEF.

    4. Ms. Stella, I totally disagree with u this time around! If they were told they were going to do this for free, then it's a different issue. Adhoc staff are meant to be paid 50k, whether corper or otherwise. This money has been provided to pay them! But now someone wants to use this ideology u have just put forward to cheat poor corpers. Please they should pay them their complete money! This is utter rubbish n sheer thievery!!!!! Now they r writing u to help put their case out there and u want to worsen it!!! Please u were nowhere near a polling booth, so pls just help air their grievances and leave the rest. Na dem wear shoe, na dem know where e dey pinch dem.
They said they will PAY. So they should PAY IN FULL. Anybody that chop INEC Adhoc staff money will be visited by GOD!
Please understand this, govt provided 50k for each Adhoc staff for a day's worth of work, including corps members oo!!!!! Now som1 has removed 38k ooo!!! Say there were a thousand corps members.....now do the math. Free ko, pro bono ni. Monkey dey work baboon dey chop

    5. Stella I do not agree with you on this! They told them they will pay them like 60k or so I heard. They are not the military that swore to die for their country..nysc is a 1year 'service' to ur country. It is not easy to go to the far north and teach SS3 students dat can't even spell their names or live on fura or sleep in a hut.
And they weren't posted to INEC, I believe they have their primary assignments but were called for this job.
If 'profs' could act as collating officers ..which is just to read out results on national tv oo...were paid well, why then won't the corpers who did the major work be paid such small amts?
I served 2years back in abj so it was cool but some of my frnds weren't so lucky and I kw their story.
I rem back in 2011 was still in school but we prayed day and night for the safety of students serving then. They were slaughtered for that.
I also know corpers who did this election job was because They needed the extra cash. The probability of violence was really high so many withdraw. Only few Forged ahead so to me, not paying them the promised pay is not being fair biko!

I cudnt eat truout that election period.
That March 28th was my bday.
Managed to follow material bus bk to my ppa.
I cudnt take my bath at the RAC.
I only washed my privates in a dark classroom corridor.

  64. Haba, Stella take am easy on dis guy o. No amount is worth the risk they got exposed to. The risk involved is their service to Nigeria but the services rendered must be compensated adequately. If serving ur father is that cheap, then the soldiers should have been fighting insurgents for free. Guy, manage the money, may God reward u accordingly.

  70. Corper, relax na, how much where you expecting? In 2011, i was a part of those who did this same stuff and we were part 9k which we collected gladly, mind you during the 1st saturday's election, we were pratically hanging on the truck because of lack of space even though we were travelling to our various bushes in kebbi state by 1am on saturday and i ended the voting by 12am and finishing counting and sorting by 6am on sunday morning and i even lost my voice. My so-called policeman was so dour that the villagers were more scared of me than they were of him
My padi, you should be proud that your own elections is seen as freer and fairer than ours.
At least that is a consolation

    1. Oh please. That you allowed yourself to be enslaved and treated like a monkey, hanging from a truck and didn't complain doesn't mean the poster is wrong to complain. I can imagine you hanging from a truck because of 9k. It's not as if you didn't have 9k of your own oh. Goodness me!

What if you fell off or something bad happened to you? I guess you would have been telling a different story today. We are the cause of our problems in this country. We do not know our rights and when someone points out something that is wrong, you try to shut the person up. That is why the masses WILL CONTINUE to be treated like animals. If and only if you knew how much was put into this Inec election scheme, then you will weep for Nigeria. When something is wrong, admit it
      I can't deal abeg.

  76. Madam Stella that was a very irresponsible comment from you. The said corper won't be complaining if that was the amount initially agreed upon. I'm a corper and I quite understand the writer, the initial amount agreed on was well over 30k but Nysc officials with the help of Inec have decided to do wayo wayo. Half of the people that went for the training didn't even get paid as agreed upon. I salute the corpers that worked the election sef.

  84. See all this self unrighteous people talking,u go for training for close to a week on your transport fare, feed yourself from your pocket, still sleep on the bare floor for three days inside that dungeon call OGUDU LOCAL GOVERNMENT,we can serve our fathers nation if we were told to volunteer for the job it isn't a big deal, each ad hoc staff was promised nothing less than 30k naira can be higher if you are the presiding office plus lodging in to a guesthouse or whatever place that is free on the 27th of February, only for over 700 adhoc staff to sleep on indomie cartons, some couldn't sleep,I laid on bare floor, some worked extra time due to the issues with the card readers,I worked till Sunday night about 8pm.Only for me to hear ill be paid nine thousand five hundred naira, isn't this fraud,we risked our life,my dad wasn't in support and I kept telling him the experience is worth it,and still till now I'm yet to even receive my money,we were not fed during the elections,we were all on our own,no form of security no concern, and you talk about serving ones father land. All the so called supervisors in charge of sharing the money the least of dem that uses a car is using a 4x4 runner jeep, how on earth did 30k exclusive of training allowance and feeding allowance turn to nine thousand five hundred naira.Corruption runs everywhere and I hope this is really really looked into.If I should calculate the amount I spent on attending training and feeding allowance from the 23rd to 29th of February you guys would be stunned.akomoledeadisa@Gmail.com

Till we start learning the art of volunteering this country won't change....if they were not promised anything at the beginning then whatever they give u take.....but if they promised an amount then they should deliver it.....and you poster how do you expect Stella to know you were promised something when you did not say so? You kids of these days are very poor in self expression.....
