Is Akinwunmi Ambode the Man for Lagos?‏

Akinwunmi Ambode is running for Lagos State Governor on the platform of the APC.

But is he the man for Lagos? Should we vote him on Saturday?

Here are 5 reasons we think you should vote him and APC in Lagos.

1) Is Ambode Qualified?
The simple fact is that Akinwunmi Ambode is the more experienced and qualified of the two candidates.
Not only has he spent 27 years in public service including the highest levels of government; he’s studied for this role at the best schools in the world.
It’s a perfect combination - academic excellence and real-world experience.

2) Lagos and Abuja Aligned
Jimi Agbaje said that it’s good for Lagos to be aligned with Abuja. We agree.
In the past 16 years, Lagos has been in opposition to Abuja. At best, our policies have been misaligned; at worst, they’ve been directly curtailed.

True change is the ability to be aligned for the first time in our democracy. This is an opportunity too good to pass up. Let’s not pass it up!

3) Let’s Stick to the Plan
One of the banes of development in Nigeria is fluctuation in policy. Lagos APC has solved this by developing a master plan which successive governors have executed.
For example, Fashola completed Tinubu’s BRT project, and today leaves the rail line, Lekki FTZ as well as numerous projects needing completion.

Ambode has worked on executing the plan and is committed to continuing the development of Lagos.

4) Show Me Your Friends.
On one hand, you have Team APC; on the other Team PDP.
The Financial Times says about Tinubu "According to both detractors and fans, one of his attributes... has been to spot talent and nurture it."

The rest of the team includes Pres-Elect Buhari, VP-Elect Osinbajo and Gov Fashola,
On the other hand, Bode George was jailed for massive fraud at the NPA. Other members of the team include Obanikoro of the Ekiti rigging fame, Ogunlewe (ex-FERMA boss) and the Jonathans.

5) Lagos for Everyone
Akinwunmi Ambode is truly committed to a Lagos for EVERYONE regardless of tribe, religion or gender.
That’s why he’s promised to help create a better environment for business and traders; invest in women and help young people access up to N25billion in seed funding for new businesses.

APC and Akinwunmi Ambode are the right choice for Lagos. Vote smart on Saturday!

  29. Continuity my ass so when Jimi gets there he will leave all those projects that Fashola didn't complete uncompleted just bcos hes a pdp man
Are you people saying Buhari would do same to Jonathans projects
Person wey go work go work
Fashola worked doesn't mean Ambode will work they are both different individuals in the same party likewise Jimi and the people mentioned
Talking about corruption it was also rumoured that Fashola sacked Ambode over corruption issues so please spare me the holier than thou attitude
    Every politician is a thief
Fashola is a thief the only difference is that he steals with conscience and he did what he was voted to do
Just maybe if Funsho Williams of blessed memory was allowed to be governor would he have done better than Fashola or not only God knows
P.s I am not a politician only a concerned Nigerian who is sick and tired of all these yeye leaders
    God bless Nigeria

    1. Thank you Ego, we say no to puppet governor. Ambode cannot even hold a brilliant conversation, what the party is doing is just feeding us his CV. I heard him speak on TVC, I was really disappointed because all he did was to recite his CV. He could not even answer basic questions all he said that he will consolidate on Fashola's achievements. What will make your administration different he started reciting his CV. Be like say him type na to cram text book go exam write hook, line and sinker no input from him.

The president is expected to work with all governors irrespective of party affiliation, we cannot have a one party administration. Please do not corrupt Buhari with your regional politics and archaic PDP syndrome. When APC was in opposition some PDP governors was seen to be working. Now you are towing the part of PDP with your press releases.

Let the voters decide who they want. Lagos also need change from the status quo.

    2. I have to agree that Ambode exhibits poorer intelligence than Fashola and even his opponent Jimi Agbaje. I said this from day one of their respective campaigns. He's just lucky to be shielded by the achievements of the party and his soon to be predecessor.

Like u ladies, I'm also more for what happens after may 29th. I care less about political party sentiments and that's why I wish voting will be based more on individual merits and not party achievements. An individual can mess up the collective efforts of a thriving party, I need not cite examples to avoid starting a furore.

I have a feeling Ambode will not perform like Fashola.. It's just a feeling, I may be wrong. Neither do I believe Agbaje can exceed what Apc has done so far in lagos state. Again it's my feeling.

I pray Ambode's issue will not be clouded with sentiments like we did Jonathan in 2011. Too much expectations, but I think with Buhari on the fore front Ambode will have no choice than to run an effective governance along Buhari, as is expected of him. Therein lies my consolation and hope.

  36. JIMMY KOLAWOLE AGBAJE (JK) ALL THE WAY...APC has now change there slogan- is no more APC - Change, but APC - Continuity... Pls stick to your change cos we want CHANGE in Lagos. Enough of 16 years one man business in Lagos. we want a Lagos where a 30 year old, knowledgeable, intelligent, focused will be a commissioner, a Lagos where the YOUTH will be able to contribute to the affairs of Lagos State, not a Lagos where OLD selfish ones are commissioners, where only relatives are given priority. Let the civil servants receive leave allowance once again, let the TAXES reduce, Lets vote for CHANGE in Lagos... JK we know JK we trust. VOTE JIMI AGBAJE come Saturday 11th April, 2015....

  37. Pls don't waste your votes. Vote ambode and let the spirit of Lagos continue. Who as been to the Lekki Free Trade zone and the entire environ, pls I bow for the brain behind it. We have security, housing for civil servants and low income earners, finance small scale enterprises on large scale, prompt payment of salaries, job creation for graduates especially through LIRs, state hospitals in great condition and virtually free health care, recently included bmp files options for business owners amongst a million others. Not like I know this people or that they are perfect but I will rather vote the better devil. And that's no other than team APC. Why is everyone so interested so in Lagos state. Yes because the state is so rich. Jimi is a great guy but in the wrong party and I cannot risk the future of my generation for uncertainty.

    1. The truth is that APC is not a good party, they only worked mainly on the island, and most of what they built isn't free or cheap,to pass through that ikoyi bridge you pay 300naira and lekki expressway you pay from 150 upwards all depends on your type of vehicle, they didn't
even work in I solo, ikotun, ejigbo,Egan, igando, ayobo and the list goes on,apart from individual bbuildings that beautify, the island, most of tinubus estate on the island are extremely expensive and are for the rich,Lagos itself is still very dirty that is the reason CNN tagged it the most expensive slum in the world, if you have been round Lagos you will discover that tinubu is gradually sidelining people leaving on the mainland and making the island their priority, After they are done with the island the mainland and trust me if Nigeria remain one, after a few years no poor person will be able to afford Lagos.

  43. Lagosians must troop out in Large numbers to cast their vote for Akinwunmi Ambode as the next governor of Lagos state. Ambode in terms of experience and public service is far more qualified to provide the continuity in Lagos State. Lagos is the crown jewel of the Yoruba nation, just like Onitsha and Enugu would always remain the nerve center of the Igbo civilization. We must all rise to the occasion and do it with passion. A vote for JK is a move to put us back in chains that we unanimously rejected on March 28. Eko o ni Baje oh.

    3. Now listen you nitwits and listen good. Since you have chosen to classify my so called Lagosians as exclusive to the Ibos, I wish you luck. But let me tell you loud and clear, the Yorubas are not ready to surrender the freedom, power and leverage that God and Nigerians have just delivered to us. You people must learn to deal with your paranoia, your hidden agenda is to share Lagos with the Yorubas and to argue that it belongs to you like you just clearly showed your stupidity. We will surely checkmate you just like the state of Isreal did with the Arabs. You claim to develop Lagos, someone needs to check your sanity, when you can't even develop your own state! Instead of the igbo's to mend their ways, you want to colonise lagos and decide who becomes governor, can't you see that no Igbo has been president in over 50 years ! Stop insulting our sensibilities with your over ambitions in Lagos state, diplomacy never works with monkeys like you, can you call Kano a no man's land? Hell no, they will make suya out of you with speed, We are going to build Nigeria without tribal marks, religious strife and socio-economic demarcations we have lived through under previous government. Will be back to kick your wrinkled ass on Sunday. You are a waste of space bitch. Eko o ni Baje oh.

    4. Many of these Yoruba from neighbouring state are claiming Lagos even more than the eguns from badagry,a lot of people insulting non indigenes are poor uninformed people.politicians know the people who are contributing more to society that is the reason they are begging non indigene to vote for them,if you build an expensive house in lagos, their is 80% chance that only ibos and south south that will be able to afford it or pay without complaining, the non indigenes are actually the people who made Lagos expensive,if they leave the price of property will fall, demand will be non existent, so no politician can be rude to non indigenes because they are smart. If you own a business where only Yoruba reside, you won't make much profit like when you put your business where non indigenes are more (except name amala u dey sell) so ignore all the hate comments coming from here cos they don't know anything.and if care is not non indigenes can claim your land because they are more resourceful than you guy, america was taken from the red Indians,Australia was taken from aborigines, south Africa nko?na hardworking, resourceful, productive people na dem be winner o. So be careful
