Awwwww,I almost cried listening to his humble voice and laughed when i heard both use the word ''your excellency''.

Hmmmm...life!!!

It all leaves me clueless!..It is as if Jonathan was tired and wanted to leave,he sounds relieved,he looks weary and tired...He gave up on Nigeria.

He gave up!

    3. And glo network won't let me watch...

Nonetheless, stella I agree with you. Jonathan as a human being is tired. He is so relieved and that is what it should be for a normal human being. Ruling* isn't an easy thing. But Godfatherisms* and party greed won't let Nigerians step out'f power when they truly know they've exhausted themselves.

He honestly knew that it may have been more bloody if he had remained in power, but bowing down like that to his sponsors wouldn't have been easy. Even his conducts during his campaigns was like someone indirectly crying out *i am out of ideas my people*. He kept circling around talks...

His wife was the one so eager to return to power. And she seemed like a desperate woman that had garnered lots of enemies that she wanted to use the office of the first lady to get back at. If her husband had won, this tenure would have been bad, all thanks to her.

I still applaud Goodluck's gentle and peaceful nature (the outward part we know anyway). He would have ruled better if Nigeria was much more stabilised. His nature is not for the Nigeria of today.

Let the general come in with his toughness. I pray he delivers because Nigerians are watching him. The seat will surely be soo hot**. May God guard him.

Look I live in the north n u sud av seen what dese people were doing all in the name of celebration... That so called celebration would have been a serious massacre and bloodshed. If Good luck didn't back down for buhari, dis country would have been too hot... So please instead of saying he gave up on us... Salute him because he is d true hero... Bye

Nyway Stells u said GEJ gave up on nigeria,i. Don't think so,rather he gave up on all d hawks and sycophants around him,d lies they told him,d wrong paths they made him thread and worst of all d shame and disgrace they brought upon him letting him loose woefully,a sitting president? Smh!all dese sum up to why he threw in d towel even before d game was up!i also heard from reliable sources that some of dose hawks were particularly inciting him dat afternoon when it was obvious Buhari was winning to go d way of african dictatorship by rejecting the results and insisting on cancellation since he has d military in his palms to douse any resistance.infact I heard dis loyalist was in tears begging Jona to do dis and mama peace refused to intervene,(of course we know which course' she will likely support, lol)smhh!
So this were d pple he gave up on knowing that taking that decision will plunge in deeper in trouble while dey will maintain their position and continue looting the treasury!...dats why I said dis is d only decision he has taken on his own in his entire lifetime!nyway God bless u Jona for listening to d voice of d pple which is d voice of God and not dose self centred dragons around u.

    1. In fact anyone that can carry Nigeria's matter for head should be given a special place to seat in heaven when we all reach there.

With people like even the small community that we have on this blog, with different characters as we dey take cause trouble here, so imagine the entire populace with every character represented... Oh boi it's not an easy something.

Ordinary class captain work and school prefect work I was assigned back in secondary school nearly killed me. E remain small make I fail WAEC that time o, because I carry school matter for head. While my mates were reading I would be running after unruly juniors to punish them, mobilizing one thing or another, compiling lists for teachers etc. So imagine having to deal with a whole country as ours.

That time sef, all my mates will be struggling and famzing me, wanting me to do things that'll please them, in the process I accrued enemies that I couldn't please.. this is exactly what Jonathan faced and I can relate to it. You can't please world people. Very soon they'll pick on Sai baba. Torr

  46. I don't know why everyone is Just praising Pres Jonathan for conceeeding defeat, as if it was something out of this world. Some even went as far as praising him for not allowing war to happen and dousing the tension with the call. Fine let's look at this from some points of view

Agreed the president called GMB to congratulate him which is commendable and not Heroic, do we even know what being an hero is in Nigeria. So we are now saying that anyone can become a president and on his first term do next to nothing, polarise the polity, divide us in ethnic and religious lines courtesy of the people surrounding him(his wife inckuaive), then perform below expectation, so when it's time to go for the ballot for his second term, he should appoint people that would preach hate against the contestant, preach tribalism, give contract to militia men and praise mediocrity in all aspects, divide every region against themselves and some little time towards the election make the country so hot to the brink of war, then when he looses the election or when it is sure he was going to loose, he should call his opponent and conceed defeat so we will all shout to high heaven and start praising him and calling him a hero as if he would have done otherwise. So setting up a free and fair election is Heroic as if it's not what is expected of him in the first instance.
I feel it's high time that we Nigerians should not let sentiment get into us so much that when someone does what's is right and is expected of him, we start praising such person as if doing otherwise is what such person should have done. fyi.... GEJ lost 2 of the 3 polling units in ASO ROCK that's to tell you that the people never wanted him there anymore, what does this tell you of someone that has been the land lord on the villa in the past 4 years or more. Let's always try and look at issues holistically and not aentimentally

  47. Stella you live in a country with the strongest economy in the world being run by a woman - Angela Merkel. A well respected woman by all the power leaders and should know better and stop being dramatic with them for someone doing the norm thing. That action is precedent in Nigeria just like Fayemi did in Ekiti too many minths ago but that is what is expected and should be done.

  49. Hmmmm, it is well. I commend his courage to accept defeat readily. Its so rare in this part of the world to find a leader that will do such.

We are entering a new phase in Nigeria now and I hope and pray that things will turn around for good.

  55. Is it not enough to give up on Nigeria. Nigeria and her issues. One year into office, Buhari will understand why Jonathan was happy to leave the seat for him. Jona has my respect. I am proud to be Niger Deltan. Nothing is do or die for us

And Buhari sounds sincere as well.

  65. To me this just shows how low Nigeria is, the fact that he is applauded for doing what is supposed to be done. He lost and he stepped down, that is what I supposed to be done he shouldn't be glorified for that. We do not get applauded every day for doing what should be done.

  74. Stella, Jonathan didn't give up on Nigeria. He is an educated leader and will not fight like that violent illiterate.
If you followed the live stream, you will understand that the Northerners betrayed him... what happened in Adamawa, where the governor is a PDP man?
Even Adama Muazu and Isa Yuguda could not deliver Bauchi state.
Benue state nko? Where the senate president comes from and even Niger state. Smh

Ayo Fayose has proven himself a loyal man, may God bless him.

This election has taught me that there is nothing like one Nigeria. We are not one!!!
An average Hausa man is a green snake. I only pity the foolish southerners who are chanting "sai baba" because of one promise or the other. It is only matter of time before y'll know what you signed up for.

As far as I'm concerned, that sick, old illiterate is not my president and can never be!

My love for Jonathan will remain till the end of time. Long live GEJ

  76. A note to my fellow South Easterners: I hope we have all learnt the hard way not to put all our eggs in one basket. we have succeeded in short changing ourselves because of ethnic and religious sentiments. I hear rumors that if Ngige had won, he would have been the Senate President and the top three positions would have been occupied by the three major ethnic groups, but as it is now, it may go to North central. I hope to God that at least one APC member from the South East won House of Reps. if not, the Speaker's position might go to d West. We did not have a plan B, just in case and now, we are paying for it. Tompolo thanked the SS and SE for voting GEJ but of what use is d thanks if it does not translate to participation for us? I hope we have learnt our lessons.
