Classic FM OAP Sylvester 'Sly' Ojigbede Passes On....



Popular Classic FM 97.3 OAP, Sylvester O. Ojigbede known as Sly is dead.


He reportedly passed on last night after battling a spinal cord related illness.
He leaves behind a wife and two children. 

Until his death, Sly was an Economics graduate of the University of Lagos,and  anchored the Morning Show (6am to 11am) from Mondays to Thursdays as well as the Classic X-Press (6am to noon) on Saturdays.

    Now i remember the guy. the guy that normally do newspaper review with Jimi Disu and Bukola. No wonder they were just playing music at 7.05 am instead of reading the dailies.

    May God console your family and RIP. Painful to see you have gone.

      I have to change my saturday morning routine....I pray,jog n listen to sly on rap n hip hop classics while eating puff puff. Dat routine will change now.rip father sly

      No wonder there was no newspaper review this morning,was quite dissapointed and was wondering if I was tuned to the wrong station when they were playing music.may he rest in peace.will surely miss him.

      Extremely painful and bitter. He was my high school class mate, we even attended pry school together. He was always the light of our social gatherings because of his voice and his rapping skills. Wasn't surprised when he ended up as an OAP. Sly why nah? We ex Comlag students are devastated. I can't tell u to rest becos I don't believe it yet.

    Imagine someone seeing this able bodied man and deciding to have a fight with him not knowing he's only clinging by a thin thread to life....

    I worked with Sly in the past, met him in a colleague's event some months ago, only to hear this morning he is gone. He is a wonderful person that finds fun in everything. Too young to die, so sad. May God console his family and accept his gentle good soul, amen!

    ....can't believe my mum died before my eyes...hw can I talk to someone and within few seconds, its all over. I knw u neva wanted to die but death is a mystery as they say. No one can ever take ur place Mum, ur memory will forever be engraved in my heart- its rather unfortunate that when I close my eyes nw, it is u struggling with death that I see and not the lively you. Nobody understands! I just hope typing this helps me feel better. Rest in peace Mama Africa, Nwanyi na gaa ga, udenwa.
