Davido's HKN Records Affiliate, Etti, Creates Scene At GTBank, Sits On Bare Floor Over N880k Fraudulently Debited From His Account

In a video currently going viral on Instagram, one of the Davido's HKN record label affiliates, known as Etti, creates scene in bank after reportedly receiving a debit alert of N880k from his GTB account.

The alert allegedly indicated that the transaction was made in London.

GBOGBO BIGZZZ BOYZZZZ

Etti who is currently in Nigeria and has made no such transaction, furiously stormed the nearest branch of GTB in the company of a woman and a young girl.

When he wasn't getting the needed attention, he sat on the floor, shouting and refusing to leave thereby creating a scene.

The woman who came with him got embarrassed and wanted him to be civil about it but he shouted at her in Yoruba saying: "If we leave here, you are no longer paying the school fees of the child oh".

A security officer trying to calm him, replied in Yoruba that it's the young girl's creator that is bringing him money.

He angrily barked back saying: "Okay, her creator is helping me but some unfortunate beings are collecting the money"

However, people are now making fun of his uncivilised approach over 'just' N880k.

They claim they never expected a person of his caliber who is known for a constant show of opulence on instagram to be pained over 'just' N880k to the extent that he'll wear rubber slippers to the banking hall and sit on the bare floor shouting.

Here are screen shots from the video...

So who withdrew money from his account and why was GTB not alert?

  1. I don't blame the dude, these Nigerian banks can be fraudulent sometimes. There are instances that one needs to take extra "uncivilized" measures before attention is given to them.

They withdrew 700k from a friends account with Fidelity from the US while she was in Nigeria.
She went to the branch with her Ipad to shout while her daughter was recording.
Sharp sharp, they called her into the managers office they were denying her entry initially and the next.day, she received alert of the money being credited back.

Union bank maza maza, same story.

People should be careful of online purchases with their cards.

It happened to my colleague last month ,same GTB ..he was sleeping when he got a debit alert of 8k . It was from a POS in a mall in Ikeja .. He had over 75k in that account,I guess the thief was just testing the account . Thankfully, he does Internet banking ...and quickly moved his money to another account .

Funny enough his atm ,waswith him ..am still baffled me how this happened.

You really can't emphatize until it happens to you.

  34. Lmao. I for do pass dis one sef. This is my Gtb epistle from 2013.
It was a day to good friday, na so I go use zenith bank Atm for bwari (for morning) with the hope of travelling the next day for easter but the atm nor dispense instead I was debited. by 2:30 pm I didnt get a reversal na so my head knock say today them go see quality madness. note that what triggered my madness was the fact that I had noticed that Gtb would be so quick to reverse any transaction less than 5k. But once your trabsaction hits the 10k mark, nothing will be one until you go their office, fill out a form and they will ask you to give them minimum of 10 working days to sort it out because interbank bla bla blah.
Mind you, this had happened to me atleast twice on friday so you can imagine the hunger for weekend. So this time around I don mean them die cos eventhough I had enough money in my zenith account I just wanted to show em. Na so I carry myself after I first go knack better shirt, trouser and tie make them know say I nor be agbero, enter Gtb kubwa branch, wetin I see be say davil wan derail my plan for em.
Immediately I got into the banking hall come see this mammy water wey them put for customer care with queens english and all, na so she come ask:
"Good afternoon sir, how may I help you?"
Me: Good afternoon *in my American abi na British accent* na so I begin narrate give am and also cited examples of how I had noticed a trend when it comes to reversal. In Short after my long tory, she apologised and said you will need to give us 10 working blah blah blah.Meanwhile una need to see dis beautiful babe wey devil/Gtb wan take make my mission fail, na so I change am to pidgin begin shout for inside the hall asking to see the manager.
Come see people dey try calm me down but if I hear say I gree. I first remember the journey from bwari, Abuja to their kubwa branch including the transporatation money na so I intensify my shouting. Eventually the manager came out and re explained procedure to me. Na so me sef tell am say "you people want me to be stranded in Abuja during easter... and I will not be leaving the bank until I get a reversal...
una nor go get idea on d level of madness wey I display over 20k because the manger come talk say make I give them some time and before I got back to bwari the yeye people don reverse the transaction. How them do am till today without writing, investigating and asking zenith bank I nor know.
The moral of my epistle na, anybody wey dey laugh dis guy nor know where the shoe dey pinch am.

Some ATMs automatically reverse debits when cash is not dispensed.. unfortunately not all, that is why you noticed that some of your failed transactions were reversed,my dear it does not have anything to do with the amount in question..

Secondly, when you use an atm that is not the bank you use..they will not just go ahead and reverse because there will be a communication between the two banks...Zenith and GT.

I hope you know that some people take cash from atms and walk into banks claiming they never withdrew? Then when their video is played, abeg abeg will enter.

You also know that their are some machines that give you your card first, due to network issue... it takes a long time before the cash comes out...in that period, the owner would have gone with his or her card and someone else picks the money..(i think we don't have those machines anymore)

Another reason why banks don't just reverse that same day is that the machine might be one of the ones that reverse automatically..thereby giving you double credit.. Will you go back to the bank and report if you get credited twice?

I read most of the comments here accusing banks of stealing their monies and I laugh...
Banks lose so much especially in Nigeria where everyone is a potential fraudster when it comes to returning money that is not yours.

Most individuals here have unknowingly sacked tellers because they mistakenly credited them and refused to return the money.

My dear..when you hear the bank's side of the story..bankers stories too.. you will understand that they lose a lot from men of the underworld looking for people's accounts to hack into.

This dude's issue is a clear case of fraud. Be careful where you use your cards.. How you shop online etc. If possible.. get cards and load them with the particular amount of money you want to spend online...let it not be attached to your major account.. it is safer that way.

Never compromise your password... that your trusted brother, neighbour, girlfriend, boyfriend can decide to help themselves to some of your money..then you go telling the world that the bank stole from you.
Guard your bank details jealously. Thank you
