Buhari dissolves Boards Of Federal Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dissolution of the Governing Boards of Federal Parastatals, Agencies and Institutions with effect from Thursday, July 16, 2015.

The dissolution was announced Thursday evening via a statement by Femi Adesina, the special adviser by the President on media and publicity.

The statement added, “Until the boards are reconstituted, chief executive officers of the affected parastatals, agencies and institutions are to refer all matters requiring the attention of their boards to the President, through the Permanent Secretaries of their supervising ministries.

“While the dissolution does not affect Federal Executive Bodies listed in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it covers administrative or technical committees and other similar organs established by the now dissolved boards.” - PremiumTimes reportage

    2. Madam, he did a good thing by dissolving the board because all parastatals and ministries have board and those on the board can belong to 2 or 3 boards of different parastatals and these people have their regular day jobs. But the members of the board are entitled to more finances, new cars and properties every year. And the board does nothing for the parastatals cos they r just figure heads. Ps: I know 2 different board members in my family so am talking from experience. So buhari is doing a right thing by dissolving the board.

  14. Since taking over, Buhari has done absolutely nothing tangible. He haven't done anything concrete. He only fires and dismisses. That's all he do. Nothing more.
Why can't he spend more time thinking of how to do something that will improve the lives of the citizens like providing stable power supply or providing employment to the youths.
