Bode George Says Buhari Must Probe Fashola For Spending Taxpayers’ Money On His Website,Tinibu too

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to beam his anti-corruption searchlight on two former governors of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola (SAN).

The PDP chieftain in a statement issued on Wednesday noted that it would be unfair and undemocratic if Buhari spared the duo in his anti-corruption crudase.
He specifically urged the president to probe Fashola for lavishing N78.3m of taxpayers’ money on a personal website, www.tundefashola.com.

He said Fashola’s flimsy excuse for spending N78.3m on a website was annoying and should be recycled.
He said, “we are living in a very interesting time. There is an air of repugnancy everywhere, most especifically in my state where the immoral stench and the dark odium of Mr. Babatunde Fashola’s administration is daily being unearthed.
“What is most disgusting and annoying in all these is the arrogant and the befuddled attempt of Mr. Fashola to justify the apparent reckless misappropriation of Lagos state taxpayers’ money to set up a personal web site.

“Fashola shows no remorse, no semblance of regret, no guilty nudging of conscience. Instead, he still attempts to ride a high horse, puffing and stomping in feigned seraphic innocence. We are not fooled.”

George said many of the projects undertaken by Fashola were done at exorbitant prices.
The PDP chieftain wondered how the 1.6km Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge could cost N29bn.

He added, “We knew all along that the emperor had no clothes. Using N78m of taxpayers’ money to build a website is reckless misappropriation. The phony over N29bn used to build a mere kilometre long link bridge is outrageous venality.
“The spurious N1.5bn allegedly spent on phantom pedestrian bridges is another con game. And there are so many of these screaming illegalities observable in the record of our poster boy of yesterday!”

The statement added that the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government would do well to start implementing its promise of change from within.
George said, “In a more just society, Mr. Fashola should be facing a comprehensive investigation rather than being considered for any appointment at all. President Buhari should use the Fashola case as an acid test of sparing no one with any intimation of public malfeasance.

“Rather than engaging in a smug chest beating of innocence, Mr. Fashola should first remove himself from any consideration of public appointment and openly call for a judicial probe of his eight years in office.

“Nothing else will bring out the true picture. Lagos State is now the biggest debtor in the federation with over a trillion naira in bad debts. It may take at least 40 years before Fashola’s indebtedness can be defrayed! What a malady!”
George said there was no way Fashola would be probed without probing Tinubu because one was the creation of the other.

He said, “In the end there is no way to divorce Fashola from Bola Tinubu. They are both linked in unutterable complicity. If Fashola stands today in tarnished allegations, Tinubu, his godfather, cannot possibly distance himself in innocent escapism.
“If Fashola now rots in the mud, we must look through the depths to understand the instigating and factor. Whenever Fashola is cooling his feet at the interrogation centre, Tinubu should not be far behind”.

Dailypost report.

Its not about september list...i dont even care if it is, it is morally wrong for fashola to have used taxpayers money to build and upgrade a personal website.
And he didnt deny it, rather he agreed he did and even gave a breakdown, so whats that with the list?

I dont support fashola, amaechi or fayemi in ths dispensation, thats my own. The pdp isnt even a serious party if not, they should have bombarded the public with the books of their respective states already. Then the people will know that all these people arnt saints

  5. Stella you are being biased at the concluding part of this write up which is unlike you.

September list or not ,if there's traces of guilt then he should be probed and not be considered for any post atleast not now, that will serve as deterrent to others.

Fashola's statement on the website scam didn't do justice to the allegation levelled against him rather it showed his quilt ,all he did was play the card of a good advocate which is his profession anyway.

Don't get me wrong I am fashola's fan even though I have my reservations about some of the policies of the APC but then enough is enough of these public looting.

    Change is here to stay.

    GOD BLESS NIGERIA

  14. Truth be told, it is illegal and immoral to be accused of using taxpayer money to build a personal website. To actually admit so is a direct call for the relevant authorities to probe gov fashola. Let's be honest for once

  16. Bode George the accuser of brethren is even more corrupt than Fashola and Tinubu join together. Maybe if Buhari should extend his searchlight on OBJ and co, Bode George will shut his mouth. Imagine living in a glass house and still throwing stones!

I really don't care if Tinubu or Fashola are probed, but it should not be Bode George that shld be giving that advice when he's a thief himself.

Stella Na wa for u oh.
Didn't u put up a post here on the so called 78 million naira website accusation and Fashola's response to it?

In his response, he didn't deny that that amount was spent from Lagos state coffers on a personal website for him, he only made a very weak case about how the proper breakdown of expenses was not included in the report/ accusation.

Abi you no read the post?
I never liked this Bode George but he has a point. There should be no sacred cows. If Buhari wants to probe the immediate past govt, he should include that of Lagos state.
BRF worked well in Lagos compared to the past governors but he still stole a lot.

  24. Did Fashola use tax payers money for his personal shit? YES! He did.
Is it an act depicting corruption? YES
    It's as simple as that.
Buhari is not free from corruption. His entire campaign was funded by tax payers money which have left alot of States in dept.
He who must come to equity must come with clean hands
Let no one who is guilty accuse another of the same crime
God in heaven knows it all. Stella stop being sentimental or emotional. Look at facts before making comments

  28. Chief Bode George, just because you are a criminal does not mean every one else is a criminal. You are a failed politician . A PDP government pardoned you because you belong to the same party and you promised to deliver Lagos State a promise which never materialised. Fashola has done more than you would ever do in a life time in Lagos State and for the people of Lagos. Considering that even in your extended family you never reached out to touch any one which was why when you were in prison they all did not want to visit you. You should hide your face in shame.
