EFCC Says They Have Secured Conviction Of 1000 Fraudulent Nigerians

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said that it has secured the conviction of over 1000 people in both public and private sectors in the country for various corrupt practices .

The anti-graft commission also disclosed that hundreds of graft cases were pending in various courts across the country while billions of naira had been recovered from culprits.
The Executive Chairman of the commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, stated this on Monday in Akure, the Ondo State capital during a two-day workshop on budget monitoring and tracking organised for community-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations, media and local government staff.

Represented by the Director of Public Affairs Department of the Commission, Mr. Osita Nwajah, the chairman called for judicial reform to fast-track the prosecution of offenders of corruption .

He said the commission came up with the idea under its prevention mandate to ensure citizen participation at all levels of budget processes for better service delivery.

He said, “Participation in budget process is a constitutional right. Therefore, your insistence to participate in it does not violate any law; rather, it strengthens governance and leads to accelerated development and reduction in corrupt practices at all levels of government.”

  2. Stella, you are not the only one tired of all these nonsense talk talk, announcements and useless invitations. The masses are also fed up.
Buhari should have started his sacking and firing from the EFCC if he wants to be taken serious in the over hyped anti corruption campaign.
The current head of the agency is highly ineffective and inefficient. He should not be spared bcos he is a northern muslim.
We need fearless people with zeal and determination to get results in the EFCC. Enough of this shenanigans.

  15. Pmb is working. There are obvious changes. At least there is some measure of circumspection in the polity. Every thing can't be done at one. More so there is a time lag betwee when an experiment or whatever action is initiated and when end result is obtained. While synics are welcome one is only judge after he submits his answer script not while the exam is in progress. Anyone who says there are no obvious changes for better in any area of the countries situations is a liar. You can be pissed off that status quo did not continue but anything but what obtained before is better
