Lionel Messi Rejects Move To Premier League, Says He Will Retire At Barcelona

Lionel Messi insists he will NOT leave Barcelona this summer.
The Argentine collected his fifth  Ballon d'Or trophy in Zurich on Monday as he pipped Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar to the prize.

He has enjoyed another incredible year - winning five trophies with Barca and scoring a staggering 48 goals.
However, there have been reports linking him with Manchester City and a possible reunion with Pep Guardiola, should he move to the Etihad.
But speaking at the ceremony, Messi insisted he has no plans to move to the Premier League.

"Now is not the time to think about whether this is (my) peak. It’s more important that we keep trying to win, that we work hard. It’s a lot to think about.
‘I’ve always said that (I can’t leave Barcelona). It’s always my response. I want to finish my career at home.

"My home is Barcelona. Football changes so much. A year ago, we were all getting criticised and we ended up winning nearly everything. My intention is to terminate my career where it started, in Barcelona."

Yea, he has sense. He should remain at barca.

I really don't see him as someone that will adapt to any club. I feel he will not be anywhere as good in any other club.

He's loyal afterall. Joining the likes of Maldini, Totti, et all to be a 1-club man!

He has nothing to prove elsewhere. Only fanatics of the much hyped EPL think otherwise.

It's a risky move... he might not make it there so better to stay where he alrdy knows the synergy of his team.

Congrats to him on his win

Look at those talking about fear of going to PL. Where are the English teams when international competitions are organised? Does any English Team match barca? #spanishLeagueIsTougher.

Barcelona saved his life madam. He owes his life to the club. And he plays well for Argentina, that team is just something else.

Please help me tell them o before they start insulting the poor man.

He isn't scared of any change. Where was EPL clubs when Barcelona saved his life? Sometimes it is good to be good. Messi is just repaying Barcelona for the kindness that was showed to him by the club.

He is scared!! Google Messi's story ...Barcelona helped him even when they knew he had an ailment they stood by him...he can't leave that club ...this is what you call loyalty

Exactly when it comes to Spanish leagues they are animals and tough as it can get!! Besides Messi owes everything he has to GOD and club barca they saved and believed in him when no one did ...even when they knew he had an aliment they took him in and gave him special doctors ...Barca and his grandma were the only ones who stood by him at that time...they should google his story ...its all about loyalty
