Tunde Bakare Wants CBN Governor Sacked Over Arms Deal Scandal

Pastor Tunde Bakare,The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly has called on President Buhari to immediately sack and probe the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

Bakare who made the call at his church on Sunday said it would be unfair and improper to prosecute the immediate past national security adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd), for allegedly misappropriating the money meant for arms while the CBN governor, who released the money to Dasuki, was allowed to remain in office.

Bakare who also called for the overhauling of the CBN wondered how a letter of barely two paragraphs, addressed to the current CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, by the then NSA, Dasuki , became the authority to incur expenditure leading to cash flow of $37m and several million euro?

He added that In decent climes, the CBN governor cannot continue to remain in office while the NSA is accounting for his alleged offences.

I dont understant...Was the CBN Gov not supposed to give Dasuki the money?was he involved in the armsgate?

    1. Tunde bakare should mind his church

The governor of cbn doesn't have anything to do with the arms deal

When a letter is presented to him from the president is he to say no??

How would he have known the money was not going to be used

Or has any money traced back to him??

    5. Well, who authorized the CBN governor to release the money?

Did the Senate of the day approve the funds?

Who authorized the disbursement of the said funds after it got to Dasuki?

Whoever gave the final authorization should be on lock down with Dasuki. That's all.

  10. Emefiele must have had a share in this loot. This CBN governor seems to be the worst ever had.

  11. Stella if Emefiele isn't culpable then Falae and Co too ain't since it's safe to presume they didn't know the source of the money.
Learned brethren, what is it about equity not aiding a volunteer again??

  15. I actually think the Governor should be sacked for a lot of other reasons as well, but the office is tenured unless there good reasons, misconduct et al..remember Sanusi..CBN Act

  16. This bakare is supposed to be a lawyer? The cbn governor has not been indicted yet or convicted. If truly he has acted unlawfully the president will simply present him with evidence of such infractions and he will go on leave or tender his resignation. The likes of bakare like playing to the gallery. Please fear the almighty.

  19. Stella,if your husband says you should kiss me on the mouth.would it make it right/normal? Emefiele should have told both Dasuki & GEJ that it is illegal

    1. No my dear. The CBN governor upon approval, couldn't have told them it was illegal...because, don't forget that they said the money was to secure arms to fight terrorist. He couldn't have objected to that. That they now diverted the funds shouldn't be his business. The one who authorized the diversion is culpable

  20. How can a whole CBN governor accquscied to the release of over 40million dollars in CASH. Is he that he didn't know its effect on money supply and consequence to the economy? That's one of the reasons for this FOREX problem. Our foreign reserves were depleted yet the CBN can release such an amount but ban legitimate ( though frivolous) use of cards abroad

    1. Hmmm.. during the last election ehn, come and see how they were sharing dollars. This is no joke. It got to a point where these govt officials started to lure d public with raw dollars. It happened in osun and ekiti state during their elections. Federal might was on standby with dollars to influence their votes. The general election was worse. The outcome is all we are seeing today. The journalists and news houses that received part of it.

    1. How ignorant can you be? Aren't spiritual leaders supposed to speak against evils and ills in the society at large? But no, you'd rather they partake in it and turn a blind eye. Study and get knowledge, did the Senate approve such funds? What's obtainable in civilized climes.
