Missing British Tourist Ademola Owolana Found Dead

The body found at the Metra Electric Kensington Rail Yard in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood is missing British tourist Ademola Owolana, a family spokesperson confirmed.

It's not clear how the body of Owolana, 26, ended up on top of a retired Metra Electric rail car. The man from London came to Chicago with his mother to visit relatives.

Crisis responder Andrew Holmes spent time tonight consoling Owolana's grieving mother.

"I really, really didn't want to turn out this way," Holmes said. "She didn't want to take her son back home like this."

Owolana was last seen early Saturday morning leaving a club in West Pullman after a night of drinking. The family said he took off on foot when a relative wouldn't give up the car keys.

His loved ones had been on a desperate search ever since. That search ended Tuesday afternoon when his body was found in the Kensington Rail Yard, not far away from where he disappeared.

"We have to leave that up to the detectives and the medical examiners to determine what, when and how long he's been there and how it exactly happened," Holmes said.

Investigators are ruling out foul play, but many questions remain. Police hope to get some answers from surveillance cameras in the area.

A cause of death has not been determined.

    1. Truth be told all Nigerian comedians are overated with boring contents that are not even upgraded. People should stop paying to go see them live. It is a waste of your precious hard earned money. They live flashy with your money.

    1. Nigerian comedians should go get correct 9 to 5 jobs instead of hustling and duping like prostitutes. Fine gals wey marry dem looking for easy life I pity you. After 3 yrs their fame don finish. Then back to duping to meet up.

    1. Moral lesson: please please please! Don't let your drunk friends leave the club. No matter how upset they are. Follow them home or find a way to tie them down.
I remember one day I don't even know who sent me to go and drink after my ex boyfriend got me angry. Then one idiot now upset me sef in the club. My friend took me to the car and locked me in leaving window down a little for me to get air. And moved the car to where bouncers and security were standing.imagine if she let me drive home in that anger. Or if she angrily took my keys as I was shouting that I will take the next cab home. The next morning na slap she take wake me for all the abuse I abused her.
Really, who you hang out with matters

  6. Ruling out foul play ke?

Someone that was found on top of a stationary train.

What they should be looking for, is motive, because someone did kill him.

I wonder how the relative would be feeling right now.

    * sigh *

    2. In winter many drunk people in countries with cold weather lie down to sleep and die of hypothermia. This is unknow in hot climates like Nigeria but quite common as well in Southern Africa where temperatures plunge in May to July. These young men in the west also take recreationary drugs. One hint is that a relative would not give him car keys. He was either stoned or very drunk. Very sad loss of life.

    3. He was drunk. And he probably didn't feel the cold and found somewhere to sleep. Hyperthermia came to visit. I belive he was really high after plenty drinks and whatever be was smoking. Such a sad way to die

  7. Is this not Debo owolana's son? This woman bore him three boys and they have been separated for over 12 years. He never took care of the boys anyways.

    1. Really is this necessary.. Let's not lose focus of what has happened.. A parent has lost a child!!!!! Not a parent doesn't take care of his sons... The story of the family is not necessary and you were not asked for your judgement!!!!

    2. Wow in this time of grief, you had to dig up all this unnecessary information. Truly sad

    3. Yes Debo's son! Its so sad! I wonder how Debos mum will be now. Come to think of it, she keep getting stronger while her family members die. First her husband Akanbi, Bolas husband and now this. Enough of this pain for this family

    4. Is Debo Owolano Doyin Owolano's brother? They are from Ikenne oo. I think this is nemesis because Doyin Owolano was allegedly responsible for the death of Remi Abiola who lives off allen when she had abortion for him and she could not take care of her medical bills. Doyin abandoned her to marry another babe. Now the marriage has scattered and see what is happening to his family.

    5. Yes he's Debo's first child. And they haven't been separated that long. Did Bola allow him take care of his kids? Smh

  8. Very sad. Condolence to the family. Might just be some stupid robbery to get his wallet, but they killed him. Or was he involved in or doing drugs? With his British accent they will just know this one na JJC and took advantage of him. Crime & homicide rate in Chicago is just freaking alarming. Well it depends on which side of the city.
Chai, our children will not be at the wrong place & at a wrong time in Jesus' name. Amen.

This is not a time for your judgements and moral and pseudo forensic observations.

Somewhere out there a woman has lost a child. It is more painful than childbirth. I'm sure you have no experience of either.
Otherwise you will keep your saggy lips shut and just murmur 'rip'.

He's dead now ok, when he gets to Heavens gate, let him tell Jesus what he was doing.

    3. Obviously he was drunk and stoned. He prolly found himself in a subway where he was raped and abandoned. I don't think he was killed. He just have died from overdose

  9. All these relatives. Na wa for them. How will the person feel now that the boy is dead.

All these wasup boys and girls drinking like fish whenever they are abroad, they should learn and stop saying abroad is different from Nigeria.

What a bad way to go. May God comfort your mum especially.

    1. Please don't blame the relative. He was drunk and he/she didn't want to give him the car keys to drive in that state.

  21. Most People are talking rubbish, I have been on a lot night out with Demola in London and I can testify any where that he doesn't drink and I saw his brothers yesterday and we all believe that the guys were lies, demola can smoke but not drink. the guys know what truly happened to my friend and the more we hear the drunk stories, the more angry and devastated we get.

  22. This guys are lying, Demola doesn't drink and can't drive. I remembered he bought a DVLA book for his Theory test not long ago. If it was motor bike, I would believe because he knows how to ride one

  23. Any of you who use this terrible tragic and heartbreaking event to entertain yourselves or post hateful comments should seriously rethink your life choices. you did not know Demola so do not pass judgement as to how things went down. I was in a serious relationship with demola for four years and he has never been a drinker nor a trouble maker. The way he has been described on this night out is not true. please I urge you to think before you type, his family has been through the worst and these ignorant, insensitive and untrue comments will only make things worse.

  24. any of you who use this tragic, horriffic event to entertain yourselves or write evil comments need to seriously rethink your life. You did not know Demola so do not pass judgment about him or how things transpired. I was in a serious relationship with Demola for around four years, he does not drink nor is he a troublemaker. He was a wonderful person and loved his mother dearly as she does him. whatever happened between his mother and his father is no concern of yours nor does it relate to the magnitude of loss his passing has caused to his family and friends. I urge you to think before you type as your insensitive and ignorant comments are not needed in this time of sorrow. his mother and family have been through enough, having Demolas name slandered is not helpful. The way the news described him acting does not sound like him at all, he did not deserve this nor does his family. he will be missed and remembered forever by so many.
