Single Mum Stabs Neighbour To Death For Poke Nosing Into Her Private Life

A 22-year-old woman, Nwuse Ayom is currently in custody of the Benue State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her abusive neighbour, Tererse Ayua to death in Gboko town.

While being paraded at the Command Headquarter in Makurdi, the State capital, Nwuese revealed to pressmen that the deceased, Tererse was fond of raining insults on her after having a baby four months ago out of wedlock.

“We were neighbours. I had nothing with him; he used to abuse me since I had my baby, and sometimes he went as far as accusing me of abandoning my baby at night to sleep with other men.

“He kept doing it and I kept begging him to leave me alone. He refused. A few days ago, while I was sitting outside the house peeling oranges and attending to my baby, he came and started harassing me, threatening to beat me up that I flirted with another man, while I left my baby crying.

“I tried to explain that I went to make my hair, but he would not listen to me. Our argument led to a fight. He beat me and my baby fell from my hand. It was at that point that I reached for the knife I was peeling the orange with and stabbed him in the stomach. I learned he died before getting to the hospital,” She narrated.

*Well the deed has been done and she has to pay for the crime....

  4. But why would u beat a woman carrying a child and the mumu instead of running from fighting with a man, she had to pick a knife.
And why leave ur baby at home to go make ur hair sef. It's possible the man was concerned about d baby.

Let her serve her term abeg. Now they've both succeeded in making d child motherless.

  9. Eyaa, I pity her.
So this my neighbor, she is a single mom and works as a nurse in a general hospital. Whenever she is on night shift she brings her son to my house with his school uniform all I have to do is bathe the boy, dress him up and pack his lunch box then the school bus will come and pick him. Now we're having misunderstanding she stopped bringing him and I miss the boy. So one night I just went to her house to say sorry but she wasn't at home. I noticed the TV was on and Jim Jam was the station on. I knew the boy was inside. I waited no show. I went back to my own flat. Very early in the morning I saw her rushing in with her uniform. I just knew she gave her son sleeping tablet so he will not wake up in the night and start looking for her. I am planning on reporting her to the relevant authorities for drug overdose and substance abuse on a minor but on a second tot I want to warn her and if she persist, I will then report her.

    2. Wao that's dangerous if it's true. Apart from that, what if there's an emergency like a fire outbreak or something? Over the xmas period two cases of kids getting killed in the house happened.. just because their folks stepped out for a few minutes o.

The one I pity most is the woman whose daughter died in her house at ikeja. She was cooking and rushed out to get something. Before she came back her apartment had been razed down with fire and her daughter dead. The poor girl was sleeping and it was too late when the neighbours saw the fire. They had no access to the apartment. Plus the child was disabled.

So ur neighbour is taking a huge risk by leaving that boy unattended overnight. I support ur move to report her if she doesn't desist from it.

  23. Anger..
    Anger is temporary insanity..
    Anger is from the devil..
And that's why when people destroy things in a fit of rage, if you look at their face at that moment, its like staring @ the face of a deranged person.

If you are the type that smashes stuffs when angry, you need anger management classes.

That what happens when people cannot control themselves.the woman should have simply walked away..but no,she allowed the devil to use her.

She wanted the man to leave her, devil did her one better by using her to silence the man forever.

    1. ‎There must be consequences once a life is lost. The best a defence of provocation, based on the above stated facts, can avail the young lady is a reduction of a murder charge to that of 2nd degree murder or manslaughter.

For the defence of provocation to stand, she has to prove that the actions of the deceased was so infuriating that the reasonable man will react with equal force instantaneously before passion cools off. As for the defence of self defence, she has to prove that the nature of the attack by the deceased was such that she had the reasonable fear that her life was in danger or she would suffer grievous harm.

The law allows a person who, in fact, apprehended death or grievous harm to defend him/herself against such imminent and present danger, however, the force used to defend said attack must be reasonably proportional to the attack. You can't reasonably defend yourself against a fist blow with an AK 47 assault riffle or use a machete to defend yourself against verbal abuse. In the court of public opinion, it may seem reasonable that she stabbed the deceased with a knife because he hit her with so much force that her baby fell to the ground but it may not be so easy to prove in a competent court of law. In the eyes of the law her action suggests that she meant to kill the deceased by stabbing him in his stomach after the fact. If she were brandishing the knife in order to keep the deceased from attacking her or her baby and in the process, stabbed the deceased, that can be a compelling argument for self defence. However, any action carried out after the fact leans more towards provocation.

Like the infamous saying, "the law is an ass", a sound criminal lawyer would be able to get a court to mitigate her punishment but I don't see her getting away scot free. No matter how one chooses to slice it or dice it, the fact remains that a person died and the death was caused by the young lady.‎
