Virgin Atlantic Recruits New Cabin Crew Months After Sacking Nigerians...

Barely four months after dismissing its entire Nigerian Cabin Crew, Virgin Atlantic has begun a recruitment exercise for new set of cabin crew.

This latest action gives credence to the cries of the Nigerian crew that their sack was not an economic decision like the airline was telling the world but a clear case of racial discrimination.

In an advertisement on its website titled:Jobs of the week February 1st:

That's what I thought. If people kept complaining about their staff and bad customer service, then they had to do something about it.

I don't blame them if they don't want to employ Nigerians, OMG they could be so rude, imagine a cabin crew took like 10minutes to come to me after I pressed the help button,I was having tummy ache from the horrible food they served us,we were told not to get up oo,fasten belt to remain on blah blah,I told the girl to help bring my hand luggage down so o could get paracetamol from my bag,she just gave me a very awful body language with this stupid tone of voice.. GET UP AND GET IT YOURSELF, I was like shiooo...the one on Arik, I was flying to naija, they served drinks and I asked for another cup of water, just water ooo,the girl just looked away and walked on by and never bothered to get me the water, despite that I got up to look for her at the back where they usually camp gossiping.nigerians can be so rude...another one happened at my bank UK branch,I almost brought the matter to Stella 2months ago,Imagine the Nigerian woman at the reception remained on her phone talking # mummy Yomi nkò se awón na wa, ahhhaaaa daddy tòla na sò bé,she went on on that phone call for another 5minutes and was using her left her to point us to the seats on the side for us to take a seat,I almost lost my temper but I tried to keep calm, even after all the nonsense, she still couldn't tell me how to go about doing my bvn,you need to see the way she was talking rudely to some other people that came to sort some other stuff out..I left that place so angry and almost contacted Stella but then I thought it's not worth it,o don't wanna be responsible for anyone losing their job cos I got her name and her picture, with a video.i sha decide to travel to naija afterwards, I don do my BVN, easy peasy at my Lagos branch.

Yes i am glad they have all been sacked.
Let them go learn customer service skills.
Something they are definately lacking.

Anonymous said...

I totally agree. Nigerians need to learn about customer service, and to adapt the philosophy of "The customer is always right"!

Most of u posting comments here are obviously slave to the white skin and thats why they will never take u serious. why pour all your wahala on nigerian crew alone? why not try the whites (whom you think are respectful in ur warped mind)

Airlines aren't ifesinachi, if u can drag ur load all d way from ur house to the plane, then feel free to put it away, crews aren't luggage handler, they are there for ur safety...biko!

Anonymous said...

@anon 17:09........why dont u apply as their customer service mgr, since it seems u have CS in abundance.....just negodu joorr

Anonymous said...

Nigerians and their annoying attitude, d customer is always right indeed!

Anonymous said...

@ mimi from miami, pls speak english, ur statement is contradictory!

Most of the people making comments here do not have the facts. Virgin have themselves said that the crew were not sacked for non performance but because of their own restructuring. If they had problems with the crew they would have said so and sack them easily. There is an issue now cos those crew were blameless. Those talking about their rudeness surely don't fly Virgin.frequent flyers on Virgin miss the Naija crew die! Who will you ask for extra food or any unusual help? Is it oyibo? We Nigerians sef, we are our worst enemies that is why we are where we are. It's people who don't reason things out that talk rubbish. When you sack worker,

I want to ask.the person who made a comment about them being drug peddlers, have you ever heard in any media or from NDLEA that any of those people carried drugs? If you don't have anything to say pls keep quiet instead of spoiling people's names. Cabin crew job is not a joke, their lives are somehow in danger and they work very hard. I don't think they deserve you insults.
