Please am in serious need of prayers at d moment.
My wife had a uterus rupture at 32wks pregnancy. An emergency c-section was performed on her to remove d baby. My babyboy was already dead frm d rupture. During operation the surgeon called me into d theatre and told me my wife has ADENOMYOSIS that he will have to remove her womb. Aunty Stella, I cried, couple with d fact that I had already been crying and begging everyone in the hospital to donate blood for my wife.
This was around 2am of 20/5/2016.
I told the surgeon not to remove my wife's womb coz she has never given birth b4, neither have I. The lost pregnancy was our first. We have always known my wife had fibroid, but this new one called adenomyosis is what I was just hearing for the first time.
The surgeon then explained to me that if he leaves the womb and at all my wife takes in she will have to come live in the hospital when the pregnancy is 20wks till the baby is born, and that they will remove the baby at 30wks. I said that was a better option, so we agreed on that.
We were discharged 3days later. After about 6days my wife started crying of stomach pain, as in very severe pains. I rushed her back to the hospital, and behold the only option they have given us now is that they have to perform a surgery and remove her womb. Me and my wife are still not agreeing to it.
But my wife is in serious pains and they are just managing her with painkillers and antibiotics.
We believe God will not 4get us at this moment, we are praying and believing God for a miracle.
The Doctors too have not ruled out the possibility of a miracle happening that's why they are also giving us time to make our decision.
Please I need the prayers of every blog visitor, please pray for my wife to be restored.
We are even considering taking her abroad. Does anyone know where this adenomyosis is being treated?
Please I need your help and most of all I need your prayers.

DeleteWow I just read about adenomyosis on the Internet. It truly indicates that the treatment is the removal of the uterus. However conditions can be controlled through hormone therapy and anti inflammatory drugs. Wow that's a shocker cos I have never heard of such! I pray that your wife makes it through this one. It's really tough! And the worst part is the inability to have kids in the future of her womb is removed

The doctor called the boyfriend(now husband) to warn him that his wife might not have children after the operation to remove her womb. The trusted God and now they have a boy and a girl (graduates now).God doesn't put more on people than they can bear. Stay Strong. It is well.

Dear poster, I'm also a doctor, Paediatrician in training but my obgyn residual knowledge says something isn't right. The history doesn't add up at all. Make sure that decision to remove her womb is being made by a consultant obstetrician-gynaecologist preferably in a teaching hospital. Make sure it's not a general practitioner in a private hospital that is making such a crucial decision for you.

For me i cant even stand people i dont love in pain talk more of my wife. You guys can do surrogate later or something but pls be the man and get rid of your wifes pain biko. Then console her afterwards. People are childless, adopt and still live a happy life.

ReplyDeleteYou should definitely seek the opinion of another doctor in a GOOD, different hospital since it involves invasive surgery, and also if there's enough time to do this. If the conclusion is the same, then consider doing the surgery because your wife's health comes.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you can fly her abroad like you said, please do so. There's always adoption and other means of having kids, but only if there is life and good health. May God guide and be with you guys as you make your decisions.

ReplyDeleteTry Lagoon hospital there is one in vi and one in surulere I think. Just to be on d safe side you need a specialist. This is human life, if the solution is removing ur wife womb, pls do it. It is much beta than loosing her. You ppl can always do surrogacy with ur sperm and her eggs.

ReplyDeleteAunty Stella, My neighbor is lying critically sick in LUTH she had a baby last week and she almost died. the doctors warned her about getting pregnant again after 2 kids but her hubby threatened to take another wife if she doesn't have one more baby. please tell the poster to do what the doctor said. His wife's life is at stake. please take away your sentiment and let the doctors do their job. Women, I know you should be submissive and all but remember if you die your husband will marry again and life goes on. I don't think the doctor is seeing anything differently. .remember he just operated on her she had a cesarean section because she had a ruptured uterus....so I'm pretty sure he knew what he saw..its different when someone says a lady has adenomyosis just by doing a transvaginal scan.

Why now are you going to snuff out the very spirit that attracted you to her to try and save one body part you have never met? How do you know that God has not given her this opportunity as a means to give her a long life? You are hear asking for prayers when God is giving you both the opportunity for a long marriage together through the removal of the womb. I will NOT pray for your wife's womb to be saved, I am praying for her life to be spared and that will only happen by removing the offensive and diseased body part.
