Actress Grace Amah Says It Wasnt Easy Coming Back To Nollywood.

When we talk about the old generation of Nollywood actors, Grace Amah will make the list of those being referred to. However this actress didn’t just disappear from our screens.

In an exclusive interview, Amah told Sunday Scoop, how she fasted and prayed before getting back into the industry.

“Actually, it was a lot of work. It wasn’t easy. A lot of fasting and praying went into my decision to return to Nollywood. I had to wait on the Lord, because I had to hear from Him. It suddenly looked as if the name, Grace Amah, wasn’t ringing a bell anymore. It was not easy.

“At some point, I was calling producers and directors. Even the people I knew or used to work with did not seem to be of help. This was the situation until I got a call from Mary Remmy. Since then, I have done several jobs.”

The Ebonyi State-born actress got her big break after she featured in the hit TV series, Superstory’s One Bad Apple. Speaking on what she thinks makes the old Nollywood different from the new Nollywood, she said, “I would say there is a whole lot of difference. There was this professionalism, love, care but the new Nollywood shows a lot of desperation.

There is a struggle to outshine the other person. It is not a bad development but when it becomes a selfish thing, then there is a problem. Aside from that, there is a lot of improvement in terms of scripting, camera quality and storylines.

  14. She left when she got pregnant, for one of her friends boyfriend, called alex, the UK base guy. She had a son for the guy in London. The guy did not marry her after,so she went awul, cos of the emotional n financial struggle at that time. Prayers brought her out of the mess. Second is about her height, short n petite, you know at some point nollywood needs tall, fair babes to sell market in alaba. That summon people like Tonto dike and Co. All the oyinbo peppers that we now have in nollywood. Cus she has been in the industry b4 ini edo/ tonto/ mercy johnson/ebube/chika ike/ even genevive innaji, cus I remembered she acted lead in (ELASTIC LIMIT) with Shola fosudo ,it was two years after that, genevive did her Waka pass in Most wanted. I advice she should focus on something else if your now born again, cus you will be corrupt again. Mary rummy is your friend na,I wish you all the best.

  17. Beautiful Grace. The old Nollywood is nothing compared to the new Nollywood. The new Nollywood actors and actresses have also gone into production and directing. Bring a whole new dimension to acting.

So if she is going to stay a long time here, she definitely should up her game. Beautiful actress by the way.
