Doctors In House Section

This is tough!!!

EPISIOTOMY WAHALA

Good day Stella,
Am in desperate need of help/advice /recommendations...i gave birth 12 weeks ago, had an episiotomy, and I have still not healed went to see the doctor, did a swab test and he has been pumping me with antibiotics said it was streptococcus infected but still no improvement.

Initially i was told after birth not to sit on water cos it might loosen the stitches so I didn't even when mumsy kept nagging me to, but since the stitches are  out, I have started sitting on salted hot water, so the pain is a bit dull now, but where I was stitched is still very red and tender, can't imagine being intimate with DH sef, and dude although forming understanding is getting impatient.

 Lol.

Please has anyone been in similar situation ?

What can I do to hasten the healing process?
I am tired and need my vayjayjay back to normal

Thanks stellz

Even with d 2hrs foreplay. *side eyez @ james* Child birth doesn't slack d Virgina, and even if it does, it's just a little bit. Unless, the woman in question Has a 'well' for a vaginal.

  9. The problem here is very common among mums who dont adhere to instructions, you started sitting on hot water even before the stitch healed, in such case the hot water melts the rubber thread used in stitching the tear thereby exposing the wound. You may be infected according to the doctor, but from other mums i met with similar cases, they had to stitch them up again. Pls dont sit on hot water, it isnt necessary, tell your mum that times have changed not same type of thread again.

She was discharged the following day. She was asked to sit on the floor for weeks at home, she couldn't even laugh sef for fear or her stitches loosing. But come see her after a few months na she con dey hang leg for window pass me sef. I just don't understand women sha.

ThankGod for this post.I am also in this same condition,14 weeks postpartum, episiotomy site still red and weeping, though d suturing broke down 3weeks after, did a swab at 6weeks the result stated clean wound, couldn't stand for more than 5mins and can't walk well until 8weeks postpartum.I was told they can't resuture that it will heal from inside out, tired of dis condition, having sex is the least of my problem now.Complete healing from above is all I ask for!

  14. Dear poster, I had epistonomy (big one) six weeks ago and the wound has healed, please buy augmentin, it will heal the wound faster, I took it instead of the amoxyl given to me on the midwives advice. continue sitting on hot water vapour it will heal, you didn't take care of the wound while it was fresh, please don't fail to wash the area you have the stitches gently with toilet soap and water.

  15. With what you described I think some part of ur P is not stitch. My elder sis had same expirence after child birth. It was a gynaecologist that detected it. She was in pain for a long time. He heard to stitch that part that was still open. I put to bed 4 weeks ago, my stitch has healed. Just feeling minor pain.

    1. Probably they didn't stitch it for her well. The stitches absorbs withing 10 days. Madam pls clean the area with warm water and purit. Just get a clean bowl, add purit disinfectant, dip your cotton wool inside and use it to clean the area. I would have told you to get a competent midwife from a government hospital to resuture it for you but I dn't know if you can bear the pain.If it is well stitched, it doesn't take a month to heal completely and your vjay will be tighter than before. Trust me.

  25. MADAM, PLEASE DO NOT SIT BACK.
    YOU NEED A SECOND OPINION.
I WILL SUGGEST YOU GO TO ANOTHER GNAECOLOGIST/DOCTOR.
IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT,I WILL SUGGEST YOU GO TO THE PREMIER SPECIALIST MEDICAL CENTER,IF YOU ARE LAGOS.
THERE'S CERTAINLY SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE 12WEEKS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO HAVE HEALED.
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FOR YOUR BABY'S SAKE & HUSBAND.
MAY GOD GRANT YOU SPEEDY HEALING IN JESUS NAME, AMEN

  27. I have two kids, had episiotomy in both. It was a doctor that advised me to use methylated spirit to clean that area every time after having ur bath and using d toilet. It works like magic, though is very painful I won't lie to u but it heals very fast. Try it,but get a good Moko spirit not a fake one oo.i know Ds will be useful to u.

  31. It's probably infected as your doctor said. Since he took a swab, he probably cultured and knows what medications the organism is most sensitive. Please note, it's salt in WARM water, not HOT water. Hot water is only going to make it worse.

  33. Pls CS is not a better option.....I had episiotomy also, healed after 4 weeks and started collecting at 6 weeks. And...Yes, I started sitting in hot water vapour plus detol plus salt the night after i put to bed (my mother's prescription). I was also sitting strictly on wooden stool with legs forced closed. During the healing process, I usually see the stitches falling into the hot water. Now am healed and still intact.
