Oprah Speaks On Her Weight Loss

Winfrey announced in January that she had lost more than 25 pounds, all while still eating one of her favorite staples -- bread.

"I would like him to pick me up and carry me to the pool," she said. "I've lost enough weight, he can pick me up and carry me to the pool. I can straddle him without breaking his back."

It's because of this and the program she feels she can keep the weight off.
"I genuinely feel that it’s been easier this time than the other 3,000 times I’ve gone on a diet because I don’t even feel like it is a diet," she said back in May.

Along with her work for Weight Watchers, Oprah is also featured in a new scripted show for OWN, "Greenleaf," which she is also producing. The show is generating a lot of positive buzz and she couldn't be happier.

“I am actually doing it. I really only do what I want to do when I want to do it. That’s the best life,” she said earlier this summer.

    4. Now you are the one being bitter anon. Everyone can't b slim and while size 12 isn't a small size, it certainly isn't an obese size, especially if she has the height to balance it. So stop the hate abeg

    1. Yeah, babe, you can.

Like Cynhams said, you've got to be determined. That's the first step.

Then, you have to watch what goes into your mouth. If you're very overweight, try counting calories. It's worked for a lot of people I've seen. I'm thinking that after a while, you'll know what should enter your mouth, and when.

Cut down on fattening foods, sugary stuff, and lots of baked goods. You can decide to put them on hold for a while, not eliminate them totally.
Maybe when you reach your goal, you can incorporate them into your meals, responsibly.

And just so you know, healthy eating is not all about not gaining weight. You treat your body right now, it'll treat you right in the future.

    Way to go Oprah!
LOL @ I really only do what I want to do when I wanna do it.

  8. Good one, Oprah.
Dieting is for a while. You want to maintain a particular size and not bother about silly infirmities in future, make healthy eating a lifestyle.

    That's how I left size 10 for an 8.
Now, i'm trying very hard not to go slimmer than this. I love my curves very much, thanks.

Just being as toned as ever, is the goal now.

And yeah, I eat my breads and all; just that I've drastically cut down on sugar. Mainly because it's unhealthy. Can't believe it's been months I touched soda and chocolates.

If only I could go vegan, but nah, I'm too much of a sweet tooth...lol!

    2. Sodas and chocolates are my weakness. Funny enough I'm not fat. 12 down and 10 up but I dont feel as fit as I should.

    3. Hehehe, MrsB.

They used to be my weakness, till I decided that I'd had it.

      Afterall, my body is mine.

You could check your BMI, you know, to put your mind at rest.
It also depends on your height.

Maybe try for a toned body and you'll feel fit if you're actually not fat.

    1. My dear, I'm not a trainer o, but to lose fat in these places, without necessarily losing your curves, you need to make some sacrifices.

Make protein your friend. Ditch the carbs, if possible, completely, till you get that washboard abs. But I'm guessing you're breastfeeding, so, you might want to know how to go about it, without depriving your baby of the needed nutrients.
If you can control your portions, without giving up on foods necessary for your child's development, better.

Aerobics are veryyyy important. You don't even need a gym. You can jog round your compound. You can get a skipping rope.

You can learn to plank. Press ups, crunchies, leg raises, be consistent with them and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Squats too, especially for your thighs. Painful, but effective. And with time you'll get used to it.

Then, there are dance exercise videos that you can download and watch, while working out.

Some people claim that vinegar helped them with belly fat. You could read up on that.

Then, there's green tea, if it agrees with your system.

It's a thing of the mind. Set your mind to it, and you'll be back to shape in no time.

And most importantly, drink water. Lots of water. When it's meal time, 10-15 minutes before or after meals, is preferable.
