Oyedepo's Daughter Joys Defends ''CRAZY'' Post

Woooow..

I've received way too many personal messages about this post below and so for the honest few, I have chosen to make a few things clear.

It seems that many of us have misunderstood things too easily.
You all have seen my posts for a while now, some of you have seen them for years on end, and you know that I absolutely adore my family.
That cannot, has not, and will not ever change.

Anyone who tries to insinuate any different is purely looking for loopholes that just don't exist.

To that group, you may need to find more profitable work because that, already is a failed venture.
Then, there is this other group that expects me to be EXACTLY like my mother or sister, who are role models to many including myself.
especially myself.

Thing is, you also may need to edit your expectation because that too, will not be happening.
I'm me and will never be anyone else. can never be anyone else. and will not even try to.

I love that my sister and I are not walking replicas of my mother. she teaches us not to be. she teaches that we are who God has called us to be, and that, with all sincerity. our differences make us unique, and that makes us an epic loving family. that, we are grateful to God for.

Ps, "crazy" purely means/meant different.

this, you would understand if you read through the post honestly, completely and some of us, without negative intent.
So, to those who honestly were confused on the original post, I hope you have recieved the needed clarity.
but to those still looking for loopholes, sorry. failed venture.
Be you. Be who God created you to be. Yes, have role models (& you always can start with my mother and sister--right here on facebook even if you have nowhere else to turn). But don't ever try to dim your uniqueness to fit in with the "world's" definition of perfect.
God bless y'all.

    3. Na she sabi o.

Ehn ehn dear Bvs, further to my sister's stolen phone ish that I gisted you guys. Guess what?? The albino thief has been nabbed in church this very minute ohhhhh. Sebi I told the doubting Thomas' who thought that by me writing it here, that I had spoilt things and she may not turn up. For where? My sis just called me now and I'm rushing to join them at the police station where they are dragging her to right now. I'm so happy. Will be back.

    4. OK I'm back o. You won't believe it, this lady finally sold the phone for flipping 7k. Heard that as soon as the church head security approached her when they saw her coming out of the wash room, he accosted her and said, so madame you were in church last week Tuesday and u stole a Samsung phone. She immediately admitted and became sober. She didn't even argue at all so it made things easier for everyone. Na so dem match her go station.

Now she's locked up at the police station. Tomorrow she's taking the police to the guy she sold the phone to. Hopefully, that one will have it or take them to whoever he may have sold it to again. Psheeew

Meanwhile this lady gave a sob story. My sister asked why she stole, and that wouldn't it have been better if she begged church members for that 7k she cheaply sold the phone, instead of getting herself into trouble. She said that she doesn't have a home, that she sleeps at the general hospital in Ikorodu bleh bleh. But she comes all the way to the island to steal. They even said she steals toiletries from the church store. Somebody revealed that when the drama started.

Unfortunately I don't even feel sorry for her because she's wicked. That u are less privileged does not mean that u should steal from anyone. Cos u cause pain for the loss and u inconvenience ur victim. It's not just fair. Police sef go come take this matter collect money. Anyway that's the story so far. Mshew

      OK bye

    5. Some of them are just too lazy and want manna to fall from heaven without lifting a finger.

They always have a reason, somebody is sick, somebody died, yada yada yada.

She can get a job as a sales girl, a nanny , a receptionist, wash clothes for people etc.

There are a lot of things she can do but No, she chose to be a thief and steals in church, ole oshi.

  4. My honest opinion is that she is trying to get attention. Probably to make a name for herself and get out there. But she cant help but sound childish. She would need to mature up and realize that she doesnt need to respond to all manner of people.

  5. I can understand her. Hmmmm thank God am not pastors daughter that people will now be expecting me to leave a stereotype kind of life. PS be urself and do what makes you happy but know that people will always judge based on ur family background.

  8. Trying to be cool, when your father teaches that the words you use affect what you become. 'Crazy'is very Hollywood. So where do you belong?
I believe you sha when you say u are doing u and let your parents and siblings do what they believe in.
But trust me Papa Oyedepo may not take this lightly. #justsayin.
By the way nothing wrong with being cool, but know lots of things are borderline, so just watch your words or u will have to keep explaining. Not everyone is 'cool' and not everyone is negative. U will just become misunderstood and self-centred if u carry on like this.

That her father is a GO, doesn't mean that she should be a prim and proper prude.

    1. I think she's under the radar due to her father's preaching and his principles concerning discipline in his school. So many rules on dressing and everything. Suspension when you fall short on anything. This is like a revenge mission.

Lol. I feel for her. She was trying to express herself but as a pastor's daughter, there are expectations from parents and people and no one cares if you wanna live in that 'Godly' way. Dont wish to be in her shoes. And she will be expected to marry a 'Godly' man and continue the ministry, even if she wants to let loose, be a fashionista, travel to Spain for wine tasting, dance salsa and use red wigs. Too bad

  11. May be she is seeing things differently,i don't mind her staying in her lane decently,if she can't blend with the father's faith abi? People should leave her alone,to be herself. At least she's not called as a pastor too.

  23. Her message is very clear.
She doesn't want to be "labelled"
She doesn't want to live in the shadows of her mom.

She doesn't want people to expect much from her cos her Daddy is a well known Bishop in Nigeria.

She would probably make mistakes and learn from them.

Actually people like this that the world expects to fail or disgrace the family end up being the "upright" ones.

That said, unfortunately Joy...we live in the part of the world where you are judged by total strangers for being a WOMAN. You are called a Whore cos you dare to be different, smart and successful.

You are in Nigeria, where total strangers have an opinion about your life.
Where you will get Death threats and nasty mails from the ones that think they are Holier than you just cos they feel as Bishop Oyedepo's daughter, you can't be yourself.

Lastly,we are in Africa where your parents will be disappointed if you "disgrace" them,LOL.

So from a Parent to you,Do Everything within your power to cage your "crazy". Na your parents e go pain pass.
Don't pull a Malia on them.

    1. Iphie, joy happens to be one of the realest persons i know. Very calm and always herself. She was my roommate, assistant headgirl and room head back then in secondary school. I'm quite sure people misinterpreted what she meant. She simply wants to be just like herself.... The way she has always been. Joy is a practical Christain. I guess people want her to act all righteous and all that..... She simply wants to serve God in her own way and not live in the shadow of her parents and siblings.... Unfortunately, that's what people will always see her as...

    2. True!

Having role models, mentors, life coaches is fantastic, but integrate(focus on key values that can fit into your lives)their values rather than emulate(trying to be someone else); by forcing yourself to be like your mentors, you'll be be suppressing your true nature with all its uniqueness.
      Be you!!!

You will have fortunately put that sasha fierce to sleep!. Behave! Do the crazy without announcing it on social media. . We all know all women have that time of the month where you want to make love, but we are taught it is wrong to even acknowledge biology when u are single. Get with the programme, ur pa wrote books on it! It has to be spiritualised, everything has to be spiritualised . If na lie, try it, whether your papa will not disown you. His mandate is way more important than your vent! So u berra cool down lil girl.
