When Nollywood Was Nollywood #ThrowBackISH

When Nollywood was Nollywood If Actors Rams‎ey nouah and Genevive Nnaji are on cover then that movie director is sure to smile to the Bank!
These two were some of the hottest ....still are?

I rem‎ember back then if a movie doesn't have love in its title then it's missing something....
The good old days in Nollywood is gone and i wonder where the movie industry is headed right now....

Those were the good days when people could act better, imagine Alex Ekubo that cannot act being in movies,Ramsey and co were much much better, now we have so many fake actors, very plastic, divided Nollywood, its now cinema and Asaba made movies,no longer one Nollywood.i still prefer the local movies made in the east.

  32. I went through all the comments and no one even mentioned Ameze Imarhiagbe a damn good actress who acted in flesh and blood, Dead end, Suicide mission. She was Ramsey Noah's babe back in the day and was even rumoured to have had a daughter together.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In fact you are the bomb! Ameze was awesome. You forgot to mention Narrow Escape, I think that was her last nollywood movie. My own list include ; forever, rattle snake, to live again, violated( in fact all Amaka Igwe movies, may she Rip), agony, mortal inheritance, etc.I loved all the classy Bollywood movies of that time, let's don't forget there were useless movies produced then. It got boring for me in the mid 2000's when they started their epic nonsense and when unprofessional people came on board. Big thumbs up to Chico Ejiro, Zeb Ejiro, The Amata brothers, Amaka Igwe(Rip), Damien & Gabriel Moses, Opa Williams , Zik Zulu,Kenneth Nnebue. You people were real good, made my weekends and holidays worth while. We still have loads of VHS and VCDS in my parents house. My mum and my bestie's daddy really patronised Bollywood. Sorry for my epistle, was happy to reminisce. Stella pls post oh!

  33. The good old days are long gone. The storyline and acting these days is nothing to write home about that's why some of these actresses had to look for another source of livelihood like crocophilia(lol). It is well o.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Chai Evil Forest made me cry eeh, Hilda n Nkeiru Sylvanus can cry in movies then. But I still Love Shan George because of how good she was in "Who killed my Husband"

    ReplyDelete
  35. Please lets continue to encourage naija actors and actresses. At least its a source of employment. Una way too know una fit produce good films or sponsor a good script. Stella u fit use ur influence upgrade nollywood. Kai!!! We too criticize. Wetin?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think the industry is actually doing much better, especially with the new crop of intelligent movies featuring veteran actors and newbies. Also the plot seem more believable. I am looking forward to when the movies scheduled to be screened at film festival would be available on IROKO. ( as we no fit go cinema)

    ReplyDelete
  37. All we see now is all bleached skin and dullards. Showing of G wagon, range etc with confused write ups/story lines.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Biko who remembers the one Victoria Inyamah was in and their neighbor have them witchcraft , was it ripples or chains?

    ReplyDelete
  39. D good old days, I can still remember full moon, living in bondage, dead Richard, my love, after school hours, rattle snake, evil forest, nneka the pretty serpent, snake girl, boomerang, twin sisters e.t.c then Dstv was not dis cheap and popular now most people are stucked to the dish and have little or no time to slot in CD's.
