Cross River State Government Floats Airline

As part of its tourism investment drive, the Cross River State government has concluded plans to float an airline.
Governor Ben Ayade revealed this in Calabar when he hosted a consortium of Indian investors.

According to him, the airline to be called Cally Air would be managed by Dana Group under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

The governor said the airline was expected to debut in November and would fly Calabar, Obudu, Lagos and Abuja routes.

Ayade said the state was in a haste to get the airline started while Dana Airline would serve as its technical partner.
Mr Jackies Hartmani, the Managing Director of Dana Group, applauded the joint partnership between his group and the state government.

“My company is very impressed with what Gov. Ayade is doing to transform the state in terms of investment and we are committed to ensuring the success of the partnership,’’ he said.

  11. How will Okowa work when predecessor stole a lot nd cannot be brought to book. D Asaba Airport his predecessor claimed to build is still ongoing nd in a dangerous state yet nobody talks about that. Lets be real n say it as it is. No need of singing praises to any governor or president what dis country needs is total over hauling. That's my view.

Okowa is doing his best with d little he gets even if he pays salaries late which is also not his fault. Which one will u pay pay salaries early nd noting to show u are a governor of a state or pay salaries a little late nd show us u are a governor by working?

  13. Cally air is truly a beautiful thing to do. Maybe the Country can even adopt them as the national carrier before other states wise up.

  14. Delta state govt is CURSED with bad leaders. Right from Ibori to the present one, none has the requisite vision to develop delta to be like Lagos state with all the natural resources at their disposal. By now, delta should be competing with lagos in terms of infrastructural development but the thieves are just too many. To salvage the situation, first is for them to be credible election with the open ballot systems where voters would be counted instead of stuffed ballot papers. Secondly, credible leaders that would unite the state and put deltans first instead of their private pocket. Delta governor should borrow a leaf from gov Ambode of lagos and see how govt really works
