FIFA U17 World Cup: What the flamingoes need to do to succeed

The Nigerian U17 women team will start their sojourn in Jordan at the 2016 edition of the FIFA U17 women’s world cup.





The set of young girls who did not concede a single goal during the qualifiers are set to make history again, but they have to be focused at this stage and make Nigerians especially the women’s folks proud.

In an open note to the public, Award-winning Journalist and women’s rights advocate, Aderonke Bello shares some success tips with them as they head out to represent themselves and the nation.

She said, “It is a good thing to be among the few African countries that made it to the tournament, this, however will kickstart your career as footballers, be professional.

“I just want to give you few tips to succeed at a tough tournament like this one, keep your head high girls, focus, focus and focus; you need to stay away from social media at the moment; you don’t want praises and criticisms get to affect your performances.

“Work together as a team both on and off-field, keep no grudge against your teammate no matter what. This is not the time to blow tantrums, keep yourself together incase of pre/pro menstrual syndrome, finally, be patriotic by giving your best to the country as we are all cheering you on to succeed,” she concluded.
