Labour Room Drama - 3 And 4

When you are in labour no shakara oh....

LRD STORY 3

Dear Stella,

Lemme cut the chase and tell you my labour chronicles. I am a first time mom and I had my beautiful baby on the 27th of may 2016. A week after my due date , my doctor said I should come in so I could be induced. Stella I prayed and fasted that the baby should come itself because I heard induction was painful but for where.

The doctor started by doing a cervical ripening for me...Stella that was the beginning of my labour story. The cervical ripening is something else ..the pain I felt under there eh....

Thursday morning nothing was happening, no pain no contraction nothing. The inducement proper started , I knew the definition of pain....me that is always forming strong lady, I started having contraction every one minute from 7pm Thursday.
Oga was there in the hospital with me, at first when the contraction hit me, Oga will help apply pressure to my back until Oga said he was tired and needed to rest. Na so Oga they play FIFA manager for his laptop. If you see the way I screamed at him ''am here having contraction you are playing FIFA manager''...the pain eh was out of the world.

At a point i felt like pooing, the matron said no oh Dont poo, poo on your bed I will clean it. Stella I screamed, shouted, sang sef anytime I had contraction.

Fast forward 3.43am on Friday which happens to be children's day i pushed my bundle of joy into this world and he is the cutest thing I have seen.
Did I tell you Oga was in the labour room with me and recorded all my push push.
My boy is 3 months now. I will sennd my omugwo chronicles soon
Tolu

What do you mean by Cervical ripening?were you injected down there?

LRD STORY 5

I met my husband in 1998 and we dated till we tied the nuts in 2005. And I got pregnant that year. All through my pregnancy, I had this terrible leg pain that used to hook me.

Well fast forward to the ninth month, 4 days to the deal day, I attended my niece' birth party and did most of the cooking and I danced so much that my hubby was complaining.

On the day of my labour, I was just sitting down in my sitting room when I felt somehow. I just went to the bathroom and checked lo and behold, the show the nurses and doc talked about. I just called my hubby in the office and told him.

He said I should go to the hospital. I got the hospital and the Dr said I was in labour, that I should go and bring my things. Note that by this time which was around 2pm, I was not feeling any pain yet. I got home, took my shower and called my bro in law and we went back to the hospital.

When we got there by 4pm, I had started feeling slight pain. The nurses took me to the labour room. And one said I should undress and remove my pant!

I was like ah ah, e never reach nau. I just refused. The nurse just spoke yoruba and told the other nurse to leave me alone, that when it is time I will be the one to remove it by myself.

So the labour began. By 6pm, my dh had come and we were there in the labour room together. By 10pm, the pain had increased and i had removed  my top and left with only wrapper and my precious pant!

By 11pm, the Dr came to check me and inserted his hands inside me!

I screamed and used my leg to push him. He just looked at his nurse and my dh and said this woman is very stubborn!

By 1am I had become restless and I had just dilated 2to 3 cm. By 2am, I had removed my precious pant and was walking naked all over the labour room and the nurses and dh were busy carrying the drip all over for me. I was just hitting the wall of the labour room.

At this time I was out of control. By ‎4am, my dh said he wants to rest, cos he would go to work the next day. As he was just calming me down, I just bit his back! Which kain rest? For where?

By 5am, I had pinched one of the nurses and her skin was on my nails.

By 7am, my mother in law had come and I was so weak at this time. I told her I want to sleep! She shouted for where? She started praying for me o. By after 9, the nurses took me to the delivery room by now I was so weak and terrified.

I was told to push and I pushed and pusheded but nothing. Before I knew, enough tear. Hmm! At the end, I was able to push and my baby girl came out weighing 4kg! and all the pain left. Even when the Dr was suturing me, I didn't even feel any pain.
But for my other two boys, I had to bear the pain at home before going to the hospital.

There goes my labour room drama! It's been ten years now and I thank God for my life and family. Sorry for the epistle.

*Wow,you tore off your pants yourself as predicted..lol

I tasted five minutes of labour pain and my dear,HMMMMMM!!!!

God is awesome and there must be a reason women feel so much pain during labour!

I dont understand, maybe the Doctors can explain but i dont think its good to let a woman labour until she gets weak, why not CS if Labour is too long?

    4) Hahahaha i laughed so much at your story. The nurses were right after all.. you tore the pants yourself. Thank God for you and your family

Stella i don't think it's every woman that likes CS, especially if there's no case of emergency! And i'm sure the doctors would have operated on her right away if they found out the baby was weak inside the wound!

  7. This chronicles are filled with so much laughter especially the woman with her precious pant. Stella the labour pains came as result of sin of Eve but grace of God will continue to sustain all women not to die of the labour pain.

  13. Cervical ripening is a process of helping the cervix to soften and dilate in preparation for labor, using drugs like misoprostol. I help rub women their backs during delivery because in my workplace, husbands are no allowed in the delivery room. Labour is painful mehn... I know il use epidural.

  24. I will rather feel d pain of motherhood than cs,God forbid it for me and my generation, anyways am done giving birth.

  25. Stella pls i don't think this is good. It puts the fear in some expectant mother. There is no fun in the labour room. It is a time of serious prayer. Not everything should be shared. Women have died in labour room. Some women have had still birth what does it profit to bring a reminder . I appeal that you reconsider. Thank u
