Minister Of Women Affairs Reacts To Reports She Slumped At IDPs Camp

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Jummai Alhassan has denied reports that she slumped during her two day visit to the Internal Displaced Persons’ camp in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

President Muhammadu Buhari had instructed Mama Taraba as fondly called to investigate allegations of human abuse in the IDP camps located in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

Speaking through her director of information, Mallam Hassan Dodo, Mama Taraba said “When I went into the stores to inspect the items, it was quite stuffy and I had to sit down, I even spoke to some press men after the inspection, I am shocked that it was reported that I slumped”.

She said that after the visit she had gone to the government house and held town hall meeting with some women before finally leaving the state, saying, “I don’t know why the media will report something so false”.

On Monday, the Network of Civil Society Organisations in Borno State, stated that most female members of the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp in the state have turned to prostitution to survive.

Chairman of the CSOs, Ahmed Shehu, said that displaced women and teenagers were engaging in prostitution in order to raise money to feed their families.

  2. Madame there's nothing wrong with falling sick abeg. If anything, the media displayed empathy for your condition and wished you well. I don't think it was a malicious report as you make it seem.

  3. Madam, when somewhere is stuffy, you either step out of the place for exchange of air or you start loosing breath which can make you slump. You don't sit down in a stuffy place. You slumped and you were helped into a seat as was earlier reported. What's there in slumping? Everything ,una go dey deny, even when it's not warranted. Nawa!

Off to mind my business jare.

  7. Madam, if the place was stuffy, its possible and normal if you slumped. Do not lie. Nobody is saying you are ill just that you slumped. Obviously you are not used to such an environment. So not deny again.
