    7. MY NAME IS OYANU ENENCHE and this unfortunate story is about my wonderful, loving and compassionate family the press have been misrepresenting due to someone's selfish and unprofitable gain. I would have loved to answer this call out in a more official way but of what need would that be when the family have released an official statement and the world wide Web have taken a stand. People needs to carefully understand a situation and ask for clarification before passing a judgement that could be termed bias. THE ENENCHE's are not poor, the ENENCHE's have built houses for the less privileged, The ENENCHE's have fed mouth that needed food and clothed those that needs clothing's. I have not seen anyone in my family who would go and throw a widow out of her husbands house, not to talk of our own late brothers wife. Wait why would any of the ENENCHE's do that? I wouldn't like to repeat what my brother has already put out but like he said, and I am still saying and will continue to say, NOBODY DROVE GRACE ANNE or put her loads out. All this was carefully put together to rubbish the good name of the ENENCHE's. Forget about the ENENCHE's for now, just the great grand children of Chief DE ENENCHE are well enough and blessed by God's grace to take care of needs. Why would they drive her out and what property are they talking about? Please don't let misinformation and misrepresenting of fact blind your sense of true judgement. We are a family already blessed by only the grace of God and Satan can not pull us down. Please the information passed to the press is wrong. Am replying to this because I am a blog visitor with my name showing in full, and already I can people's comments who have already fallen for this cheap cooked up joke. This is orchestrated from the pit of hell and like the bible said, this too shall pass. It is up to anyone to believe whatever they want to believe. It's not going to be too long, truth will prevail over all the lies. Don't be in a rush to conclusions, all the accusations against the ENENCHE's were deliberately cooked up to tarnish the good image of the name. I wont be replying on this issue again. Please pardon my typos. OYANU ENENCHE.

    13. Dear Oyanu; Obviously, you are the daughter of this so called senior sister that slapped a member for crying during the burial... Also, it is your brother that responded on behalf of the Eneche's when he is not an eneche... You guys both your mum and siblings should stay away from causing conflicts in other people home in the name of being an Eneche as your relationship with them is through your mother, you are not a direct Eneche. Also, it baffles me that you as a lady is watching such undesirable scenario playing out and you support it... Do you know what it takes to get married and stay in marriage ? Obviously you are not married.. The evil men do today... Follows them directly or indirectly; today it is your uncle's wife being maltreated.. Tomorrow ... Whose turn will it be... Pls say No to the maltreatment of your uncles widow...

  6. Seriously, people seem to think someone calling himself a pastor means he is humane, kind, compassionate or even an average human being with conscience. The plight of women in Nigeria, is a terrible thing. Pastor make true your calling O.....

    On a lighter note:

This is what being thrown out of your matrimonial home looks like. Not all those Nigerian movies where two hand luggage are thrown out with the woman. That is after she had been wearing all the high heels, gele, Senegalese and all what not and strutting round the house before then.

  11. What will warrant such a treatment from inlaws apart from outright accusation of murder.

This is all they always come up with,"she killed her husband" Even when they don't have proof.
Or maybe they don't just "like" her(which is irrelevant here).

I don't know the head and tail of this story, being childless should not even be a reason for throwing out her things.

Were they not legally married? Is the sole reason of marriage procreation? Was she not a companion to him? A builder,a gatherer....
This is why having a Will early is imperative.

The woman herself was not smart . She did not safe guard her future in her husband's house . Since she had problem having a child, she should have gotten a younger sister or a close relation or her friend to marry her DH, someone she is comfortable with. I have seen many places where it was done and everyone live happily ever after.

Her only hope now is to go to the Nigerian courts.

The three tribes Tiv, Idoma and Igede don't even love themselves to begin with. They hardly marry one another. Tiv marry Tiv, Idoma marry Idoma and Igede marry Igede. 33. I listened to this stuff on d radio yesterday and what annoyed me the most was the presenter was busy saying women should insist on court marriage so as to ve a right to thr husband's property. This is what u get in a society whr marriage is everything, instead of them to advice women to work hard and acquire thr own properties, married or single. The family should not ve thrown her out, however since there is no child between them, it ll be very hard for her to get anything cos death has parted her and the man and there are no further ties. I don't know what the law says tho

    1. Anon 8.27 you share my view somewhat. Even in a developed country, once there are no children, it's over. Probably a huge pay-off and a rented place for a year or so. I feel sorry for the woman. At least the family should have had the decency to rent her a place for the time being.

      Delete
    2. What is this one talking about ? Swetin concern work and what d coupled worked hard for....doesn't matter if both or one of them was working. So you think death parted them for the man's family to take everything. Like you said you don't know the law so zip your mouth.

  35. This is really sad. It's rather unfortunate but if a woman lives or is married to a man and does not have any children in such a union, the woman should prevent such an occurrence by building her own home or preparing for eventualities like this. If she was in a developed country, she would have been entitled to the house, being the wife. Since this is in Nigeria, it's sad and she needs to find alternative accommodation because the people who did this to her are baying for blood and her life is more precious than some dilapidated house. I feel really sorry for her and wish her a better life.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This is the height of it! How can they pack her things outside her home; the home she built with her husband. They have no right!

  45. Please is not the same in every part of Nigeria. All family are not the same! A lot of women in Nigeria have loss their husbands and still lives in the home they built with their husband.

Lets be honest and stop targeting and generalising all Nigerians as one. Things like this mostly happen in the Eastern part of Nigeria (although this people happen to be from Benue).

Many women lives in their husbands house peacefully after their husbands demise.

In the abroad that most Nigerians always refer to; (I live in the abroad and i am married to one of the abroad people) a married woman who loss her husband without an issue, usually leaves her husbands house but with an agreed settlement.
They will settle the woman and she can only take what they acquired together during the time of their marriage. Except if the man willingly willed the house/properties to the wife.

  54. let me tell you..true story

After a long battle with cancer, a young man of 40 years old died. The wife went through a very difficult time..because they had traveled every where. She left everything to take care of him for years.. The man decided to come home to die. They ensure they had good quality time with there baby they had waited on God for years after marriage.
The man told the woman where everything was and who is owing him money...about the business etc.
Then the man died on a friday, the sharp woman did not tell anyone...although very emotional she decided to be practical. She called a trusted friend..they packed all the documents..cars and valuables to hide somewhere else.
Then she called her inlaws. Fast forward to the day of the funeral..the inlaw came to there house and started ransacking the house... asking her..where she packed the car. The woman feigned as if she does not know what they are talking about...
Women you need to get wise. No one should have the audacity to chase you out unless your husband will state so.

Glory to God for a family who without doubt and suspicion received the sad news of their brothers demise from his wife at mid night and decided to make all arrangements to lay his body to rest in peace without medical procedures of autopsy as required in our present times.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITHOUT ANY QUESTION..OR AUTOPSY YOU BURIED...YOU ARE ALREADY ACCUSING HER! ALSO IN A COUNTRY WHERE THINgs ARE WORKING..YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK FOR AN AUTOPSY..only the wife can give a consent.

OUR PEOPLE ARE VERY IGNORANT...THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY PEOPLE DIE SUDDENLY. ISCHEMIC HEART ATTACK..MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION..PULMONARY EMBOLISM.. MULTIPLE ORGAN FAILURE AS A RESULT OF INFECTION....many many..
MOST NIGERIA WITH BLOOD PRESSURE DONT EVEN KNOW IT TILL THEY HAVE AN ISSUE.

Women need to fight back...Recently a woman with 2 chidlren was chased outside of her maltrimonial home..and the only house her children ever lived..no money..the only thing she got to take care of her children was an account the family did not know about..she had to plan with bank manager to get the money..which she had to share with the manager!

Please start calling out any family that does this!
