Some of us will be here singing 'there are no good men' 'there are no husbands'
That's why you remain single and good men don't come your way. Cos you already confess negatively.
My pastors wife married at 31/32. She graduated from university at 24 and she got a very good job immediately. She said she and her friends kept saying 'we will marry this year'. And as much as it didn't happen for all of them at the same time, every year few of them will get married. Even though hers was delayed, it still eventually happened. 17 years and counting and they're blessed with 2 boys. And none of her friends are single today.
People think I'm too proud or I don't have my struggles, even my siblings. but the truth is I've always had a 'winning' mentality I've always been so positive that it's looks like I hide myself during difficult times. i used to tell my friends in Uni that as soon as I finish, I will get a job at the snap of my fingers. Guess what? As I was writing my project, I got a job of offer from someone I don't even know from anywhere. My parents were shocked. My first job I was Earning 80k a month, without NYSC cert. In a company in VI. I go Sidon for meeting with IG of police and Multinational oil company Chief executives ( some of which I'm still in touch with via email till today, cos they liked my zeal). My classmates in Uni are still signing 'no job'. same story they have been singing since Uni days.
I told my mum I will never do a masters in Nigeria. She said I have big eyes and I should just go to any school to have masters. No difference. The day I left for my masters. At the airport, my mum looked at me and said 'so this thing you've been saying has finally happened?' Cos they didn't even know I had paid my fees until I was going to get my visa.

Please, let's have a positive mentality. Yes it may seem like madness to some. And things won't change overnight. But when it happens you will sit back and remember that you kept confessing it and it happened one day. The bible says that the tongue has the power of life and death (Prov. 18:21) and we shall be TRANSFoRMED by the renewing of our mind (Rom. 12:12) If you don't renew your mind and mentality, there's a limit to the kind of blessings heights you can attain.

      Go back, read again.
She just stated what she wanted and went after it.
Honestly, being positive is a very powerful weapon.
Most of the things I have achieved came as a result of speaking and thinking positively ; no room for doubt.
People would ask how I did it.
      I tell them;
"God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ever ask or imagine, according to the power that worketh in you."
You see, first there must be a power inside of you before God can do anything.
It is also written, "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

    11. Anon. No I'm not better than those that did in Nigeria. But trust me my dear, the education system abroad is waaayy better. No be mouth. O got my first degree in Naija. But after spending 7 years doing a 5 year course ( thanks ASUU) , you think I would risk it again?? Let's not make it. Our education system is still gaining grounds. Of course my friends have only BSc from Naija universities and some of them have better jobs than me sef. But as for ME oh! I no fit. Case closed.

  38. Mbok. So she can't pray correct prayer to find a man that will gree her sleep peacefully at night? She prayed for a one chance that she has to sleep with one eye open? Lanre is not only a chronic ruthless womanizer, he is also a social climber who has been trying for years to break into the Lagos social scene and networks. This keeping up with the Joneses wedding they just has is all strategy to be the Joneses. You think throwing big party with the money we all know you don't have will earn you celeb status? Lanre, God is watching you on Satelite network o. I know 4 girls you rubbished and used the Genotype card on when the next new thing came through. Is it your always wandering eyes or how you dated friends in the same circle? Or the girls you only dated for their culinary skills? Or the ones you kept cos they had big yansh or gave mad BJ? What goes around comes around Mr as your twin aburos are pushing 40, recycled by the boys of GA, yet no ring. I wish them men like you though so you and they can know what's like. You don't just live a reckless and careless life, then wake up and enter agbada playing groom, like nothing happened. Errrr. Yaah, nope. Karma comes back to you in full circle. Ciao!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Toke if she didn't ask you to give her testimony publicly, why are you posting about her story on instagram. Not everyone want their stuff out there. I see Kunbi to be a private person. Telling us that she was praying for husband last year adds no flavor to her wedding. While that is a good prayer, it could make you jump on any man who comes around, believing him to be the one. Gods blessings aren't measured by fulfilled desires. He didn't grant Jesus desire to have the cup of suffering taken away. Let Kunbi be biko.

On the other hand, as for her husband's murky past, I think she's ready for anything that comes her way. After all she's not exactly young and starry eyed. She's clearly marking her territory with the wedding over-exposure so any girl that steps in her way prepare to be devoured by her and her crew lol

  47. I think the thing is that Nigerians sound easily preachy and hypocritical in their testimonies. It comes across as self righteous and judgemental, as if you are deserving of God's blessings, and as if people who don't have what you got aren't blessed too. I cringe when i listen to some Naija testimonies. It is usually laced with my-god-is-better-than-yours, my-God-will-do-it-for-you-too kinda stories. hashtag blessed. hashtag favored. hashtag myGod is blessing only me ohhh blablabla. usually exaggerated cos Nigerians love stooooooory stoooory, stooooory. My pastors wife did this. My neighbor did that etc. And it's all cos of how religion is practised in Nigeria. The need to show that I am more blessed than my neighbor. Giving thanks to God that I am not like my neighbor. The wrong Christianity.

Toke, as a friend, learn when to shut up. Kunbi already has that image of a quiet lovely successful independent woman. which is good for her. Even if she prays in private for wedding within one year, don't broadcast it on social media, please. I can't with friends like you. They act like they are happier than the bride. cool, but dont share what she didnt ask you to share. The chic only put few pix on her gram, shes not into fame chasing like you. allow her.
